And Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the children of Israel, saying: This is the thing that the Eternal has commanded.
30:3	אִישׁ כִּי־יִדֹּר נֶדֶר לַיהוָה אוֹ־הִשָּׁבַע שְׁבֻעָה לֶאְסֹר אִסָּר עַל־נַפְשׁוֹ לֹא יַחֵל דְּבָרוֹ כְּכָל־הַיֹּצֵא מִפִּיו יַעֲשֶׂה׃	Ish ki-yidor neder laAdonoy o-hishovah sh'vuah le'esor isor al-nafsho, lo yachel devoro; k'chol hayotze mipiv ya'aseh.	If a man vows a vow to the Eternal, or swears an oath to bind his soul with a pledge, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.
30:4	וְאִשָּׁה כִּי־תִדֹּר נֶדֶר לַיהוָה וְאָסְרָה אִסָּר בְּבֵית אָבִיהָ בִּנְעֻרֶיהָ׃	V'ishah ki-tidor neder laAdonoy, ve'osrah isor beveis oviha bin'ureha.	And if a woman vows a vow to the Eternal, and binds herself by a pledge, being in her father's house, in her youth,
30:5	וְשָׁמַע אָבִיהָ אֶת־נִדְרָהּ וֶאֱסָרָהּ אֲשֶׁר אָסְרָה עַל־נַפְשָׁהּ וְהֶחֱרִישׁ לָהּ אָבִיהָ וְקָמוּ כָּל־נְדָרֶיהָ וְכָל־אִסָּר אֲשֶׁר־אָסְרָה עַל־נַפְשָׁהּ יָקוּם׃	V'shama oviha es-nidrah v'esarah asher-osrah al-nafshah, v'hecherish lah oviha, v'kamu kol-nedareha, v'chol-isor asher-osrah al-nafshah yakum.	and her father hears her vow and her pledge by which she has bound her soul, and her father holds his peace at her, then all her vows shall stand, and every pledge by which she has bound her soul shall stand.
30:6	וְאִם־הֵנִיא אָבִיהָ אֹתָהּ בְּיוֹם שָׁמְעוֹ כָּל־נְדָרֶיהָ וֶאֱסָרֶיהָ אֲשֶׁר־אָסְרָה עַל־נַפְשָׁהּ לֹא יָקוּם וַיהוָה יִסְלַח־לָהּ כִּי־הֵנִיא אָבִיהָ אֹתָהּ׃	V'im-heni oviha osoh b'yom shom'o, kol-nedareha v'esareha asher-osrah al-nafshah lo yakum; vaAdonoy yislach-lah, ki-heni oviha osoh.	But if her father disallows her on the day that he hears it, none of her vows or her pledges by which she has bound her soul shall stand; and the Eternal will forgive her, because her father disallowed her.
30:7	וְאִם־הָיוֹ תִהְיֶה לְאִישׁ וּנְדָרֶיהָ עָלֶיהָ אוֹ מִבְטָא שְׂפָתֶיהָ אֲשֶׁר אָסְרָה עַל־נַפְשָׁהּ׃	V'im-hayo tihyeh l'ish, un'dareha oleha, o mivta s'foseha asher osrah al-nafshah.	And if she is married to a husband, while her vows are upon her, or the utterance of her lips by which she has bound her soul,
30:8	וְשָׁמַע אִישָׁהּ בְּיוֹם שָׁמְעוֹ וְהֶחֱרִישׁ לָהּ וְקָמוּ נְדָרֶיהָ וֶאֱסָרֶהָ אֲשֶׁר־אָסְרָה עַל־נַפְשָׁהּ יָקֻמוּ׃	V'shama isha b'yom shom'o, v'hecherish lah, v'kamu nedareha, v'esareha asher-osrah al-nafshah yakumu.	and her husband hears it, and on the day he hears it holds his peace at her, then her vows shall stand, and her pledges by which she has bound her soul shall stand.
30:9	וְאִם בְּיוֹם שְׁמֹעַ אִישָׁהּ יָנִיא אוֹתָהּ וְהֵפֵר אֶת־נִדְרָהּ אֲשֶׁר עָלֶיהָ וְאֵת מִבְטָא שְׂפָתֶיהָ אֲשֶׁר אָסְרָה עַל־נַפְשָׁהּ וַיהוָה יִסְלַח־לָהּ׃	V'im b'yom sh'moa isha yani osoh, v'hefer es-nidrah asher oleha, v'es mivta s'foseha asher osrah al-nafshah; vaAdonoy yislach-lah.	But if her husband disallows her on the day that he hears it, then he makes void her vow which is upon her, and the utterance of her lips by which she has bound her soul; and the Eternal will forgive her.
30:10	וְנֵדֶר אַלְמָנָה וּגְרוּשָׁה כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־אָסְרָה עַל־נַפְשָׁהּ יָקוּם עָלֶיהָ׃	V'neder almanah ug'rushah, kol asher-osrah al-nafshah yakum oleha.	But the vow of a widow, or of her that is divorced, everything by which she has bound her soul, shall stand against her.
30:11	וְאִם־בֵּית אִישָׁהּ נָדָרָה אוֹ־אָסְרָה אִסָּר עַל־נַפְשָׁהּ בִּשְׁבֻעָה׃	V'im-beis isha nodrah, o-osrah isor al-nafshah bishvuah.	And if she vowed in her husband's house, or bound her soul by a pledge with an oath,
30:12	וְשָׁמַע אִישָׁהּ וְהֶחֱרִשׁ לָהּ לֹא הֵנִיא אֹתָהּ וְקָמוּ כָּל־נְדָרֶיהָ וְכָל־אִסָּר אֲשֶׁר־אָסְרָה עַל־נַפְשָׁהּ יָקוּם׃	V'shama isha v'hecherish lah, lo heni osoh, v'kamu kol-nedareha, v'chol-isor asher-osrah al-nafshah yakum.	and her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and did not disallow her, then all her vows shall stand, and every pledge by which she bound her soul shall stand.
30:13	וְאִם־הָפֵר יָפֵר אֹתָם אִישָׁהּ בְּיוֹם שָׁמְעוֹ כָּל־מוֹצָא שְׂפָתֶיהָ לִנְדָרֶיהָ וּלְאִסַּר נַפְשָׁהּ לֹא יָקוּם אִישָׁהּ הֲפֵרָם וַיהוָה יִסְלַח־לָהּ׃	V'im-hafer yofer osom isha b'yom shom'o, kol-motzo s'foseha lin'dareha ul'isar nafshah lo yakum; isha hefeirom, vaAdonoy yislach-lah.	But if her husband makes them entirely void on the day he hears them, then whatever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the pledge of her soul, shall not stand; her husband has made them void, and the Eternal will forgive her.
30:14	כָּל־נֵדֶר וְכָל־שְׁבֻעַת אִסָּר לְעַנֹּת נָפֶשׁ אִישָׁהּ יְקִימֶנּוּ וְאִישָׁהּ יְפֵרֶנּוּ׃	Kol-neder v'chol-sh'vuas isor l'anos nofesh, isha y'kimenu v'isha y'ferenu.	Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may confirm it, or her husband may make it void.
30:15	וְאִם־הַחֲרֵשׁ יַחֲרִישׁ לָהּ אִישָׁהּ מִיּוֹם אֶל־יוֹם וְהֵקִים אֶת־כָּל־נְדָרֶיהָ אוֹ אֶת־כָּל־אֱסָרֶיהָ אֲשֶׁר עָלֶיהָ הֵקִים אֹתָם כִּי־הֶחֱרִשׁ לָהּ בְּיוֹם שָׁמְעוֹ׃	V'im-hacheresh yacharish lah isha miyom el-yom, v'hekim es-kol-nedareha o es-kol-esareha asher oleha, hekim osom, ki-hecheresh lah b'yom shom'o.	But if her husband altogether holds his peace at her from day to day, then he confirms all her vows, or all her pledges that are upon her; he has confirmed them, because he held his peace at her on the day that he heard them.
30:16	וְאִם־הָפֵר יָפֵר אֹתָם אַחֲרֵי שָׁמְעוֹ וְנָשָׂא אֶת־עֲוֺנָהּ׃	V'im-hafer yofer osom acharei shom'o, v'noso es-avonah.	But if he makes them entirely void after he has heard them, then he shall bear her iniquity.
30:17	אֵלֶּה הַחֻקִּים אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה בֵּין אִישׁ לְאִשְׁתּוֹ בֵּין־אָב לְבִתּוֹ בִּנְעֻרֶיהָ בֵּית אָבִיהָ׃	Eleh hachukim asher tzivah Adonoy es-Moshe bein ish l'ishto, bein-ov l'vito bin'ureha beis oviha.	These are the statutes which the Eternal commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between a father and his daughter, in her youth, in her father's house.
Chapter 31 — The War Against Midian
31:1	וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃	Vayedaber Adonoy el-Moshe leimor.	And the Eternal spoke to Moses, saying:
31:2	נְקֹם נִקְמַת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאֵת הַמִּדְיָנִים אַחַר תֵּאָסֵף אֶל־עַמֶּיךָ׃	N'kom nikmas b'nei Yisroel me'es hamidyonim; achar tei'osef el-amecha.	Take vengeance for the children of Israel against the Midianites; afterward you shall be gathered to your people.
31:3	וַיְדַבֵּר מֹשֶׁה אֶל־הָעָם לֵאמֹר הֵחָלְצוּ מֵאִתְּכֶם אֲנָשִׁים לַצָּבָא וְיִהְיוּ עַל־מִדְיָן לָתֵת נִקְמַת־יְהוָה בְּמִדְיָן׃	Vayedaber Moshe el-ho'om leimor: hecholtzu me'itchem anoshim latzovo, v'yihyu al-Midyon loses nikmas-Adonoy b'Midyon.	And Moses spoke to the people, saying: Arm men from among you for the army, that they may go against Midian, to execute the Eternal's vengeance on Midian.
31:4	אֶלֶף לַמַּטֶּה אֶלֶף לַמַּטֶּה לְכֹל מַטּוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל תִּשְׁלְחוּ לַצָּבָא׃	Elef lamateh, elef lamateh, l'chol matos Yisroel, tishlechu latzovo.	A thousand from each tribe, a thousand from each tribe, of all the tribes of Israel, you shall send to the army.
31:5	וַיִּמָּסְרוּ מֵאַלְפֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶלֶף לַמַּטֶּה שְׁנֵים־עָשָׂר אֶלֶף חֲלוּצֵי צָבָא׃	Vayimosru me'alfei Yisroel, elef lamateh, sh'neim-osor elef chalutzei tzovo.	So there were delivered, out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand from each tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
31:6	וַיִּשְׁלַח אֹתָם מֹשֶׁה אֶלֶף לַמַּטֶּה לַצָּבָא אֹתָם וְאֶת־פִּינְחָס בֶּן־אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן לַצָּבָא וּכְלֵי הַקֹּדֶשׁ וַחֲצֹצְרוֹת הַתְּרוּעָה בְּיָדוֹ׃	Vayishlach osom Moshe, elef lamateh latzovo, osom v'es-Pinchas ben-Elozor hakohen latzovo, uch'lei hakodesh vachatzotzros hat'ruah b'yodo.	And Moses sent them, a thousand from each tribe, to the army, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy vessels and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.
31:7	וַיִּצְבְּאוּ עַל־מִדְיָן כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה וַיַּהַרְגוּ כָּל־זָכָר׃	Vayitzb'u al-Midyon ka'asher tzivah Adonoy es-Moshe, vaya'hargu kol-zochor.	And they warred against Midian, as the Eternal commanded Moses, and they killed every male.
31:8	וְאֶת־מַלְכֵי מִדְיָן הָרְגוּ עַל־חַלְלֵיהֶם אֶת־אֱוִי וְאֶת־רֶקֶם וְאֶת־צוּר וְאֶת־חוּר וְאֶת־רֶבַע חֲמֵשֶׁת מַלְכֵי מִדְיָן וְאֵת בִּלְעָם בֶּן־בְּעוֹר הָרְגוּ בֶּחָרֶב׃	V'es-malchei Midyon horgu al-chal'leihem, es-Evi v'es-Rekem v'es-Tzur v'es-Chur v'es-Reva, chameshes malchei Midyon; v'es Bilom ben-B'or horgu becharev.	And they slew the kings of Midian, in addition to the rest of their slain: Evi, and Rekem, and Tzur, and Chur, and Reva, the five kings of Midian; and Balaam the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
31:9	וַיִּשְׁבּוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־נְשֵׁי מִדְיָן וְאֶת־טַפָּם וְאֵת כָּל־בְּהֶמְתָּם וְאֶת־כָּל־מִקְנֵהֶם וְאֶת־כָּל־חֵילָם בָּזָזוּ׃	Vayishbu v'nei-Yisroel es-n'shei Midyon v'es-tapom, v'eis kol-b'hemtom v'es-kol-mikneihem v'es-kol-cheilom bozozu.	And the children of Israel took captive the women of Midian and their little ones; and all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods, they took as spoil.
31:10	וְאֵת כָּל־עָרֵיהֶם בְּמוֹשְׁבֹתָם וְאֵת כָּל־טִירֹתָם שָׂרְפוּ בָּאֵשׁ׃	V'eis kol-oreihem b'moshvosom, v'eis kol-tirosom sorfu bo'eish.	And all their cities in the places where they lived, and all their encampments, they burned with fire.
31:11	וַיִּקְחוּ אֶת־כָּל־הַשָּׁלָל וְאֵת כָּל־הַמַּלְקוֹחַ בָּאָדָם וּבַבְּהֵמָה׃	Vayikchu es-kol-hashalol v'eis kol-hamalkoach, bo'odom uvab'hemah.	And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of man and of beast.
31:12	וַיָּבִאוּ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל־אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְאֶל־עֲדַת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת־הַשְּׁבִי וְאֶת־הַמַּלְקוֹחַ וְאֶת־הַשָּׁלָל אֶל־הַמַּחֲנֶה אֶל־עַרְבֹת מוֹאָב אֲשֶׁר עַל־יַרְדֵּן יְרֵחוֹ׃	Vayovi'u el-Moshe v'el-Elozor hakohen v'el-adas b'nei-Yisroel es-hash'vi v'es-hamalkoach v'es-hasholol el-hamachaneh, el-arvos Mo'ov asher al-Yarden Y'recho.	And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, to Moses, and to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel, to the camp, at the plains of Moab, which are by the Jordan at Jericho.

And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went out to meet them outside the camp.
31:14	וַיִּקְצֹף מֹשֶׁה עַל פְּקוּדֵי הֶחָיִל שָׂרֵי הָאֲלָפִים וְשָׂרֵי הַמֵּאוֹת הַבָּאִים מִצְּבָא הַמִּלְחָמָה׃	Vayiktzof Moshe al p'kudei hechoyil, sorei ho'olofim v'sorei hame'os, habo'im mitz'vo hamilchomoh.	And Moses was angry with the officers of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war.
31:15	וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם מֹשֶׁה הַחִיִּיתֶם כָּל־נְקֵבָה׃	Vayomer aleihem Moshe: Hachiyisem kol-n'keivah?	And Moses said to them: Have you saved all the women alive?
31:16	הֵן הֵנָּה הָיוּ לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בִּדְבַר בִּלְעָם לִמְסָר־מַעַל בַּיהוָה עַל־דְּבַר־פְּעוֹר וַתְּהִי הַמַּגֵּפָה בַּעֲדַת יְהוָה׃	Hein heinah hoyu livnei Yisroel bidvar Bilom, limsor-ma'al baAdonoy al-d'var-Pe'or, vat'hi hamagefah ba'adas Adonoy.	Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to act treacherously against the Eternal in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the Eternal.
31:17	וְעַתָּה הִרְגוּ כָל־זָכָר בַּטָּף וְכָל־אִשָּׁה יֹדַעַת אִישׁ לְמִשְׁכַּב זָכָר הֲרֹגוּ׃	V'atoh hirgu chol-zochor batof, v'chol-ishoh yoda'as ish l'mishkav zochor harogu.	Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known a man by lying with him.
31:18	וְכֹל הַטַּף בַּנָּשִׁים אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָדְעוּ מִשְׁכַּב זָכָר הַחֲיוּ לָכֶם׃	V'chol hatof banoshim asher lo-yod'u mishkav zochor, hachayu lochem.	But all the young girls, who have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
31:19	וְאַתֶּם חֲנוּ מִחוּץ לַמַּחֲנֶה שִׁבְעַת יָמִים כֹּל הֹרֵג נֶפֶשׁ וְכֹל נֹגֵעַ בֶּחָלָל תִּתְחַטְּאוּ בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁי וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי אַתֶּם וּשְׁבִיכֶם׃	V'atem chanu michutz lamachaneh shivas yomim; kol horeg nefesh v'chol nogei'a bechalal titchat'u bayom hash'lishi uvayom hash'vi'i, atem ush'vichem.	And you, encamp outside the camp seven days; whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, purify yourselves on the third day and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
31:20	וְכָל־בֶּגֶד וְכָל־כְּלִי־עוֹר וְכָל־מַעֲשֵׂה עִזִּים וְכָל־כְּלִי־עֵץ תִּתְחַטָּאוּ׃	V'chol-beged v'chol-k'li-or v'chol-ma'aseh izim v'chol-k'li-eitz titchato'u.	And every garment, and everything made of skins, and all work of goats' hair, and every vessel of wood, you shall purify.
31:21	וַיֹּאמֶר אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן אֶל־אַנְשֵׁי הַצָּבָא הַבָּאִים לַמִּלְחָמָה זֹאת חֻקַּת הַתּוֹרָה אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃	Vayomer Elozor hakohen el-anshei hatzovo habo'im lamilchomoh: zos chukas haToroh asher-tzivah Adonoy es-Moshe.	And Eleazar the priest said to the men of the army who went to the battle: This is the statute of the law which the Eternal has commanded Moses.
31:22	אַךְ אֶת־הַזָּהָב וְאֶת־הַכָּסֶף אֶת־הַנְּחֹשֶׁת אֶת־הַבַּרְזֶל אֶת־הַבְּדִיל וְאֶת־הָעֹפָרֶת׃	Ach es-hazohov v'es-hakosef, es-hanechosheh es-habarzel, es-habdil v'es-ho'ofores.	Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
31:23	כָּל־דָּבָר אֲשֶׁר־יָבֹא בָאֵשׁ תַּעֲבִירוּ בָאֵשׁ וְטָהֵר אַךְ בְּמֵי נִדָּה יִתְחַטָּא וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָבֹא בָּאֵשׁ תַּעֲבִירוּ בַמָּיִם׃	Kol-dovor asher-yovo vo'eish ta'aviru vo'eish v'toheir, ach b'mei nidah yitchato; v'chol asher lo-yovo bo'eish ta'aviru vamoyim.	everything that may withstand the fire, you shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean; nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of sprinkling; and all that does not withstand the fire you shall make go through the water.
31:24	וְכִבַּסְתֶּם בִּגְדֵיכֶם בַּיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי וּטְהַרְתֶּם וְאַחַר תָּבֹאוּ אֶל־הַמַּחֲנֶה׃	V'chibastem bigdeichem bayom hash'vi'i, ut'hartem, v'achar tovo'u el-hamachaneh.	And you shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you shall be clean, and afterward you shall come into the camp.
31:25	וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃	Vayomer Adonoy el-Moshe leimor.	And the Eternal spoke to Moses, saying:
31:26	שָׂא אֵת רֹאשׁ מַלְקוֹחַ הַשְּׁבִי בָּאָדָם וּבַבְּהֵמָה אַתָּה וְאֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְרָאשֵׁי אֲבוֹת הָעֵדָה׃	So eis rosh malkoach hash'vi bo'odom uvab'hemah, atoh v'Elozor hakohen v'roshei avos ho'eidah.	Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, you, and Eleazar the priest, and the heads of the fathers' houses of the congregation;
31:27	וְחָצִיתָ אֶת־הַמַּלְקוֹחַ בֵּין תֹּפְשֵׂי הַמִּלְחָמָה הַיֹּצְאִים לַצָּבָא וּבֵין כָּל־הָעֵדָה׃	V'chotzisoh es-hamalkoach bein tofsei hamilchomoh hayotz'im latzovo, uvein kol-ho'eidah.	and divide the prey into two parts: between the men skilled in war who went out to battle, and all the congregation.
31:28	וַהֲרֵמֹתָ מֶכֶס לַיהוָה מֵאֵת אַנְשֵׁי הַמִּלְחָמָה הַיֹּצְאִים לַצָּבָא אֶחָד נֶפֶשׁ מֵחֲמֵשׁ הַמֵּאוֹת מִן־הָאָדָם וּמִן־הַבָּקָר וּמִן־הַחֲמֹרִים וּמִן־הַצֹּאן׃	Vahareimoso meches laAdonoy me'eis anshei hamilchomoh hayotz'im latzovo: echod nefesh meichamesh hame'os, min-ho'odom umin-habokor umin-hachamorim umin-hatzon.	And levy a tribute for the Eternal from the men of war who went out to battle: one soul in five hundred, of the persons, and of the cattle, and of the donkeys, and of the flocks.
31:29	מִמַּחֲצִיתָם תִּקָּחוּ וְנָתַתָּה לְאֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן תְּרוּמַת יְהוָה׃	Mimachatzitom tikochu, v'nototoh l'Elozor hakohen t'rumas Adonoy.	Take it from their half, and give it to Eleazar the priest, as a gift set apart for the Eternal.
31:30	וּמִמַּחֲצִת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל תִּקַּח אֶחָד אָחֻז מִן־הַחֲמִשִּׁים מִן־הָאָדָם מִן־הַבָּקָר מִן־הַחֲמֹרִים וּמִן־הַצֹּאן מִכָּל־הַבְּהֵמָה וְנָתַתָּה אֹתָם לַלְוִיִּם שֹׁמְרֵי מִשְׁמֶרֶת מִשְׁכַּן יְהוָה׃	Umimachatzis b'nei-Yisroel tikach echod ochuz min-hachamishim, min-ho'odom min-habokor min-hachamorim umin-hatzon, mikol-hab'hemah; v'nototoh osom lal'viyim shomrei mishmeres mishkan Adonoy.	And from the children of Israel's half, take one drawn out of every fifty, of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks, of all the animals, and give them to the Levites, who keep the charge of the Tabernacle of the Eternal.
31:31	וַיַּעַשׂ מֹשֶׁה וְאֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃	Vaya'as Moshe v'Elozor hakohen ka'asher tzivah Adonoy es-Moshe.	And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the Eternal commanded Moses.
31:32	וַיְהִי הַמַּלְקוֹחַ יֶתֶר הַבָּז אֲשֶׁר בָּזְזוּ עַם הַצָּבָא צֹאן שֵׁשׁ־מֵאוֹת אֶלֶף וְשִׁבְעִים אֶלֶף וַחֲמֵשֶׁת־אֲלָפִים׃	Vay'hi hamalkoach yeser habaz asher bozzu am hatzovo: tzon shesh-me'os elef v'shiv'im elef vachameshes-alofim.	Now the prey, over and above the booty which the men of war took, was six hundred and seventy-five thousand flocks,
31:33	וּבָקָר שְׁנַיִם וְשִׁבְעִים אָלֶף׃	Uvokor sh'nayim v'shiv'im olef.	and seventy-two thousand cattle,
31:34	וַחֲמֹרִים אֶחָד וְשִׁשִּׁים אָלֶף׃	Vachamorim echod v'shishim olef.	and sixty-one thousand donkeys,
31:35	וְנֶפֶשׁ אָדָם מִן־הַנָּשִׁים אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָדְעוּ מִשְׁכַּב זָכָר כָּל־נֶפֶשׁ שְׁנַיִם וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אָלֶף׃	V'nefesh odom min-hanoshim asher lo-yod'u mishkav zochor, kol-nefesh sh'nayim ushloshim olef.	and thirty-two thousand human souls in all, of the women who had not known man by lying with him.
31:36	וַתְּהִי הַמֶּחֱצָה חֵלֶק הַיֹּצְאִים בַּצָּבָא מִסְפַּר הַצֹּאן שְׁלֹשׁ־מֵאוֹת אֶלֶף וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אֶלֶף וְשִׁבְעַת אֲלָפִים וַחֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת׃	Vat'hi hamechetzoh cheilek hayotz'im batzovo: mispar hatzon sh'losh-me'os elef ushloshim elef v'shiv'as alofim vachamesh me'os.	And the half, the portion of those who went out to war, was in number three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred flocks;
31:37	וַיְהִי הַמֶּכֶס לַיהוָה מִן־הַצֹּאן שֵׁשׁ מֵאוֹת חָמֵשׁ וְשִׁבְעִים׃	Vay'hi hamechesh laAdonoy min-hatzon shesh me'os chomesh v'shiv'im.	and the Eternal's tribute of the flocks was six hundred and seventy-five.
31:38	וְהַבָּקָר שִׁשָּׁה וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אָלֶף וּמִכְסָם לַיהוָה שְׁנַיִם וְשִׁבְעִים׃	V'habokor shishoh ushloshim olef, umichsom laAdonoy sh'nayim v'shiv'im.	And the cattle were thirty-six thousand, of which the Eternal's tribute was seventy-two.
31:39	וַחֲמֹרִים שְׁלֹשִׁים אֶלֶף וַחֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת וּמִכְסָם לַיהוָה אֶחָד וְשִׁשִּׁים׃	Vachamorim shloshim elef vachamesh me'os, umichsom laAdonoy echod v'shishim.	And the donkeys were thirty thousand five hundred, of which the Eternal's tribute was sixty-one.
31:40	וְנֶפֶשׁ אָדָם שִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂר אָלֶף וּמִכְסָם לַיהוָה שְׁנַיִם וּשְׁלֹשִׁים נָפֶשׁ׃	V'nefesh odom shishoh osor olef, umichsom laAdonoy sh'nayim ushloshim nofesh.	And the human souls were sixteen thousand, of which the Eternal's tribute was thirty-two persons.
31:41	וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה אֶת־מֶכֶס תְּרוּמַת יְהוָה לְאֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה׃	Vayiten Moshe es-mechesh t'rumas Adonoy l'Elozor hakohen, ka'asher tzivah Adonoy es-Moshe.	And Moses gave the tribute, which was set apart for the Eternal, to Eleazar the priest, as the Eternal commanded Moses.
31:42	וּמִמַּחֲצִית בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר חָצָה מֹשֶׁה מִן־הָאֲנָשִׁים הַצֹּבְאִים׃	Umimachatzis b'nei Yisroel asher chotzoh Moshe min-ho'anoshim hatzov'im.	And from the children of Israel's half, which Moses divided off from the men who fought,
31:43	וַתְּהִי מֶחֱצַת הָעֵדָה מִן־הַצֹּאן שְׁלֹשׁ־מֵאוֹת אֶלֶף וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אֶלֶף שִׁבְעַת אֲלָפִים וַחֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת׃	Vat'hi mechetzas ho'eidah min-hatzon sh'losh-me'os elef ushloshim elef, shiv'as alofim vachamesh me'os.	(now the congregation's half was three hundred and thirty-seven thousand five hundred flocks,
31:44	וּבָקָר שִׁשָּׁה וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אָלֶף׃	Uvokor shishoh ushloshim olef.	and thirty-six thousand cattle,

31:48	וַיִּקְרְבוּ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה הַפְּקֻדִים אֲשֶׁר לְאַלְפֵי הַצָּבָא שָׂרֵי הָאֲלָפִים וְשָׂרֵי הַמֵּאוֹת׃	Vayikr'vu el-Moshe hap'kudim asher l'alfei hatzovo, sorei ho'olofim v'sorei hame'os.	And the officers who were over the thousands of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, came near to Moses;
31:49	וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה עֲבָדֶיךָ נָשְׂאוּ אֶת־רֹאשׁ אַנְשֵׁי הַמִּלְחָמָה אֲשֶׁר בְּיָדֵנוּ וְלֹא־נִפְקַד מִמֶּנּוּ אִישׁ׃	Vayomru el-Moshe: avodeicho nos'u es-rosh anshei hamilchomoh asher b'yodeinu, v'lo-nifkad mimenu ish.	and said to Moses: Your servants have taken the sum of the men of war who are under our charge, and there lacks not one man of us.
31:50	וַנַּקְרֵב אֶת־קָרְבַּן יְהוָה אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר מָצָא כְלִי־זָהָב אֶצְעָדָה וְצָמִיד טַבַּעַת עָגִיל וְכוּמָז לְכַפֵּר עַל־נַפְשֹׁתֵינוּ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה׃	Vanakreiv es-korban Adonoy, ish asher motzo ch'li-zohov, etz'odoh v'tzomid taba'as ogil v'chumaz, l'chaper al-nafshoseinu lifnei Adonoy.	We have therefore brought an offering for the Eternal, what every man has found, articles of gold, armlets, and bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and pendants, to make atonement for our souls before the Eternal.
31:51	וַיִּקַּח מֹשֶׁה וְאֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן אֶת־הַזָּהָב מֵאִתָּם כֹּל כְּלִי מַעֲשֶׂה׃	Vayikach Moshe v'Elozor hakohen es-hazohov mei'itom, kol k'li ma'aseh.	And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold from them, all wrought articles.
31:52	וַיְהִי כָּל־זְהַב הַתְּרוּמָה אֲשֶׁר הֵרִימוּ לַיהוָה שִׁשָּׁה עָשָׂר אֶלֶף שְׁבַע־מֵאוֹת וַחֲמִשִּׁים שָׁקֶל מֵאֵת שָׂרֵי הָאֲלָפִים וּמֵאֵת שָׂרֵי הַמֵּאוֹת׃	Vay'hi kol-z'hav hat'rumah asher heirimu laAdonoy, shishoh osor elef sh'va-me'os vachamishim shokel, mei'eis sorei ho'olofim umei'eis sorei hame'os.	And all the gold of the offering that they set apart for the Eternal, of the captains of thousands and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.
31:53	אַנְשֵׁי הַצָּבָא בָּזְזוּ אִישׁ לוֹ׃	Anshei hatzovo bozzu ish lo.	(The men of war had taken booty, every man for himself.)

And Moses said to the children of Gad and to the children of Reuben: Shall your brothers go to the war, and shall you sit here?
32:7	וְלָמָּה תְנִיאוּן אֶת־לֵב בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵעֲבֹר אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַן לָהֶם יְהוָה׃	V'lomoh s'ni'un es-leiv b'nei Yisroel mei'avor el-ho'oretz asher-nosan lohem Adonoy?	And why do you discourage the heart of the children of Israel from going over into the land which the Eternal has given them?
32:8	כֹּה עָשׂוּ אֲבֹתֵיכֶם בְּשָׁלְחִי אֹתָם מִקָּדֵשׁ בַּרְנֵעַ לִרְאוֹת אֶת־הָאָרֶץ׃	Koh osu avoseichem, b'sholchi osom miKodeish Barnei'a lir'os es-ho'oretz.	This is what your fathers did, when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to see the land.
32:9	וַיַּעֲלוּ עַד־נַחַל אֶשְׁכּוֹל וַיִּרְאוּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ וַיָּנִיאוּ אֶת־לֵב בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְבִלְתִּי־בֹא אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַן לָהֶם יְהוָה׃	Vaya'alu ad-Nachal Eshkol, vayiru es-ho'oretz, vayoniu es-leiv b'nei Yisroel l'vilti-vo el-ho'oretz asher-nosan lohem Adonoy.	For when they went up to the valley of Eshkol, and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the Eternal had given them.
32:10	וַיִּחַר־אַף יְהוָה בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא וַיִּשָּׁבַע לֵאמֹר׃	Vayichar-af Adonoy bayom hahu, vayishova leimor.	And the Eternal's anger was kindled on that day, and He swore, saying:
32:11	אִם־יִרְאוּ הָאֲנָשִׁים הָעֹלִים מִמִּצְרַיִם מִבֶּן עֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה אֵת הָאֲדָמָה אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי לְאַבְרָהָם לְיִצְחָק וּלְיַעֲקֹב כִּי לֹא־מִלְאוּ אַחֲרָי׃	Im-yiru ho'anoshim ho'olim miMitzrayim miben esrim shonoh vomo'loh, eis ho'adomoh asher nishba'ti l'Avrohom l'Yitzchok ul'Ya'akov, ki lo-mil'u acharoy.	Surely none of the men who came up out of Egypt, from twenty years old and upward, shall see the land which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; because they have not wholly followed Me;
32:12	בִּלְתִּי כָּלֵב בֶּן־יְפֻנֶּה הַקְּנִזִּי וִיהוֹשֻׁעַ בִּן־נוּן כִּי מִלְאוּ אַחֲרֵי יְהוָה׃	Bilti Kolev ben-Y'funeh haK'nizi viY'hoshua bin-Nun, ki mil'u acharei Adonoy.	except Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun, for they have wholly followed the Eternal.
32:13	וַיִּחַר־אַף יְהוָה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל וַיְנִעֵם בַּמִּדְבָּר אַרְבָּעִים שָׁנָה עַד־תֹּם כָּל־הַדּוֹר הָעֹשֶׂה הָרַע בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָה׃	Vayichar-af Adonoy b'Yisroel, vay'ni'eim bamidbor arba'im shonoh, ad-tom kol-hador ho'oseh horo b'einei Adonoy.	And the Eternal's anger was kindled against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation that had done evil in the sight of the Eternal was consumed.
32:14	וְהִנֵּה קַמְתֶּם תַּחַת אֲבֹתֵיכֶם תַּרְבּוּת אֲנָשִׁים חַטָּאִים לִסְפּוֹת עוֹד עַל חֲרוֹן אַף־יְהוָה אֶל־יִשְׂרָאֵל׃	V'hineh kamtem tachas avoseichem, tarbus anoshim chatoim, lispos od al charon af-Adonoy el-Yisroel.	And behold, you have risen up in your fathers' place, a brood of sinful men, to increase further the fierce anger of the Eternal toward Israel.
32:15	כִּי תְשׁוּבֻן מֵאַחֲרָיו וְיָסַף עוֹד לְהַנִּיחוֹ בַּמִּדְבָּר וְשִׁחַתֶּם לְכָל־הָעָם הַזֶּה׃	Ki s'shuvun mei'acharov, v'yosaf od l'hanicho bamidbor, v'shichatem l'chol-ho'om hazeh.	For if you turn away from following Him, He will yet again leave them in the wilderness; and you will destroy all this people.
32:16	וַיִּגְּשׁוּ אֵלָיו וַיֹּאמְרוּ גִּדְרֹת צֹאן נִבְנֶה לְמִקְנֵנוּ פֹּה וְעָרִים לְטַפֵּנוּ׃	Vayigshu eilov vayomru: gidros tzon nivneh l'miknenu poh, v'orim l'tapeinu.	And they came near to him, and said: We will build sheepfolds here for our cattle, and cities for our little ones;
32:17	וַאֲנַחְנוּ נֵחָלֵץ חֻשִׁים לִפְנֵי בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עַד אֲשֶׁר אִם־הֲבִיאֹנֻם אֶל־מְקוֹמָם וְיָשַׁב טַפֵּנוּ בְּעָרֵי הַמִּבְצָר מִפְּנֵי יֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ׃	Va'anachnu neicholeitz chushim lifnei b'nei Yisroel, ad asher im-havi'onum el-m'komom; v'yoshav tapeinu b'orei hamivtzor mipnei yoshvei ho'oretz.	but we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Israel, until we have brought them to their place; and our little ones shall dwell in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land.
32:18	לֹא נָשׁוּב אֶל־בָּתֵּינוּ עַד הִתְנַחֵל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אִישׁ נַחֲלָתוֹ׃	Lo noshuv el-boteinu, ad hisnacheil b'nei Yisroel ish nachalaso.	We will not return to our houses, until the children of Israel have inherited every man his inheritance.
32:19	כִּי לֹא נִנְחַל אִתָּם מֵעֵבֶר לַיַּרְדֵּן וָהָלְאָה כִּי בָאָה נַחֲלָתֵנוּ אֵלֵינוּ מֵעֵבֶר הַיַּרְדֵּן מִזְרָחָה׃	Ki lo ninchal itom mei'eiver laYarden vohol'oh, ki vo'oh nachalaseinu eileinu mei'eiver haYarden mizrocho.	For we will not inherit with them on the other side of the Jordan and onward, because our inheritance has come to us on this side of the Jordan eastward.

32:23	וְאִם־לֹא תַעֲשׂוּן כֵּן הִנֵּה חֲטָאתֶם לַיהוָה וּדְעוּ חַטַּאתְכֶם אֲשֶׁר תִּמְצָא אֶתְכֶם׃	V'im-lo ta'asun kein, hineh chatosem laAdonoy; ud'u chatas'chem asher timtzo eschem.	But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against the Eternal; and know that your sin will find you out.
32:24	בְּנוּ־לָכֶם עָרִים לְטַפְּכֶם וּגְדֵרֹת לְצֹנַאֲכֶם וְהַיֹּצֵא מִפִּיכֶם תַּעֲשׂוּ׃	B'nu-lochem orim l'tapchem ug'deiros l'tzona'achem, v'hayotzei mipichem ta'asu.	Build cities for your little ones, and folds for your sheep; and do that which has proceeded out of your mouth.
32:25	וַיֹּאמֶר בְּנֵי־גָד וּבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵאמֹר עֲבָדֶיךָ יַעֲשׂוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲדֹנִי מְצַוֶּה׃	Vayomer b'nei-Gad uv'nei R'uveiin el-Moshe leimor: avodeicho ya'asu ka'asher adoni m'tzaveh.	And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben spoke to Moses, saying: Your servants will do as my lord commands.
32:26	טַפֵּנוּ נָשֵׁינוּ מִקְנֵנוּ וְכָל־בְּהֶמְתֵּנוּ יִהְיוּ־שָׁם בְּעָרֵי הַגִּלְעָד׃	Tapeinu noshoinu miknenu v'chol-b'hemteinu yihyu-shom b'orei haGil'od.	Our little ones, our wives, our flocks, and all our cattle, shall be there in the cities of Gilead;
32:27	וַעֲבָדֶיךָ יַעַבְרוּ כָּל־חֲלוּץ צָבָא לִפְנֵי יְהוָה לַמִּלְחָמָה כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲדֹנִי דֹּבֵר׃	Va'avodeicho ya'avru kol-chalutz tzovo lifnei Adonoy lamilchomoh, ka'asher adoni dovier.	but your servants will pass over, every man armed for war, before the Eternal to battle, as my lord says.
32:28	וַיְצַו לָהֶם מֹשֶׁה אֵת אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְאֵת יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בִּן־נוּן וְאֶת־רָאשֵׁי אֲבוֹת הַמַּטּוֹת לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃	Vay'tzav lohem Moshe eis Elozor hakohen v'eis Y'hoshua bin-Nun, v'es-roshei avos hamatos livnei Yisroel.	So Moses gave charge concerning them to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers' houses of the tribes of the children of Israel.
32:29	וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֲלֵהֶם אִם־יַעַבְרוּ בְנֵי־גָד וּבְנֵי־רְאוּבֵן אִתְּכֶם אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּן כָּל־חָלוּץ לַמִּלְחָמָה לִפְנֵי יְהוָה וְנִכְבְּשָׁה הָאָרֶץ לִפְנֵיכֶם וּנְתַתֶּם לָהֶם אֶת־אֶרֶץ הַגִּלְעָד לַאֲחֻזָּה׃	Vayomer Moshe aleihem: im-ya'avru v'nei-Gad uv'nei-R'uveiin itchem es-haYarden, kol-cholutz lamilchomoh lifnei Adonoy, v'nichb'shoh ho'oretz lifneichem, un'satem lohem es-eretz haGil'od la'achuzoh.	And Moses said to them: If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over the Jordan, every man armed for battle, before the Eternal, and the land is subdued before you, then you shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession;
32:30	וְאִם־לֹא יַעַבְרוּ חֲלוּצִים אִתְּכֶם וְנֹאחֲזוּ בְתֹכְכֶם בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן׃	V'im-lo ya'avru chalutzim itchem, v'no'achazu v'sochchem b'eretz K'na'an.	but if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.
32:31	וַיַּעֲנוּ בְנֵי־גָד וּבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן לֵאמֹר אֵת אֲשֶׁר דִּבֶּר יְהוָה אֶל־עֲבָדֶיךָ כֵּן נַעֲשֶׂה׃	Vaya'anu v'nei-Gad uv'nei R'uveiin leimor: eis asher diber Adonoy el-avodeicho, kein na'aseh.	And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying: As the Eternal has said to your servants, so will we do.
32:32	נַחְנוּ נַעֲבֹר חֲלוּצִים לִפְנֵי יְהוָה אֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן וְאִתָּנוּ אֲחֻזַּת נַחֲלָתֵנוּ מֵעֵבֶר לַיַּרְדֵּן׃	Nachnu na'avor chalutzim lifnei Adonoy eretz K'na'an, v'itonu achuzas nachalaseinu mei'eiver laYarden.	We will pass over armed before the Eternal into the land of Canaan, and the possession of our inheritance shall remain with us on this side of the Jordan.
32:33	וַיִּתֵּן לָהֶם מֹשֶׁה לִבְנֵי־גָד וְלִבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן וְלַחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט מְנַשֶּׁה בֶן־יוֹסֵף אֶת־מַמְלֶכֶת סִיחֹן מֶלֶךְ הָאֱמֹרִי וְאֶת־מַמְלֶכֶת עוֹג מֶלֶךְ הַבָּשָׁן הָאָרֶץ לְעָרֶיהָ בִּגְבֻלֹת עָרֵי הָאָרֶץ סָבִיב׃	Vayiten lohem Moshe livnei-Gad v'livnei R'uveiin v'lachatzi sheivet M'nasheh ven-Yosef, es-mamleches Sichon melech ho'Emori v'es-mamleches Og melech haBoshon, ho'oretz l'oreho bigvulos orei ho'oretz sovivov.	And Moses gave to them, to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, according to its cities with their borders, the cities of the surrounding land.
32:34	וַיִּבְנוּ בְנֵי־גָד אֶת־דִּיבֹן וְאֶת־עֲטָרֹת וְאֵת עֲרֹעֵר׃	Vayivnu v'nei-Gad es-Divon v'es-Atoros v'eis Aro'eir.	And the children of Gad built Dibon, and Atarot, and Aroer,
32:35	וְאֶת־עַטְרֹת שׁוֹפָן וְאֶת־יַעְזֵר וְיָגְבֳּהָה׃	V'es-Atros Shofon v'es-Ya'zeir v'Yogboho.	and Atrot-shofan, and Jazer, and Jogbehah,
32:36	וְאֶת־בֵּית נִמְרָה וְאֶת־בֵּית הָרָן עָרֵי מִבְצָר וְגִדְרֹת צֹאן׃	V'es-Beis Nimroh v'es-Beis Horon, orei mivtzor v'gidros tzon.	and Beth-nimrah, and Beth-haran, fortified cities, and sheepfolds.
32:37	וּבְנֵי רְאוּבֵן בָּנוּ אֶת־חֶשְׁבּוֹן וְאֶת־אֶלְעָלֵא וְאֵת קִרְיָתָיִם׃	Uv'nei R'uveiin bonu es-Cheshbon v'es-El'olei v'eis Kiryosoyim.	And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kiriathaim,
32:38	וְאֶת־נְבוֹ וְאֶת־בַּעַל מְעוֹן מוּסַבֹּת שֵׁם וְאֶת־שִׂבְמָה וַיִּקְרְאוּ בְשֵׁמֹת אֶת־שְׁמוֹת הֶעָרִים אֲשֶׁר בָּנוּ׃	V'es-N'vo v'es-Ba'al M'on musaboth sheim, v'es-Sivmoh; vayikr'u v'sheimos es-sh'mos he'orim asher bonu.	and Nebo, and Baal-meon (their names being changed), and Sibmah; and gave other names to the cities which they built.
32:39	וַיֵּלְכוּ בְּנֵי מָכִיר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁה גִּלְעָדָה וַיִּלְכְּדֻהָ וַיּוֹרֶשׁ אֶת־הָאֱמֹרִי אֲשֶׁר־בָּהּ׃	Vayeilchu b'nei Mochir ben-M'nasheh Gil'odoh, vayilk'duho, vayoresh es-ho'Emori asher-boh.	And the children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were in it.
32:40	וַיִּתֵּן מֹשֶׁה אֶת־הַגִּלְעָד לְמָכִיר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁה וַיֵּשֶׁב בָּהּ׃	Vayiten Moshe es-haGil'od l'Mochir ben-M'nasheh, vayeishev boh.	And Moses gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh, and he dwelt in it.
32:41	וְיָאִיר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁה הָלַךְ וַיִּלְכֹּד אֶת־חַוֺּתֵיהֶם וַיִּקְרָא אֶתְהֶן חַוֺּת יָאִיר׃	V'Yo'ir ben-M'nasheh holach vayilkod es-chavoseihem, vayikro es'hen Chavos Yo'ir.	And Jair the son of Manasseh went and took its small towns, and called them Havvoth-jair.
32:42	וְנֹבַח הָלַךְ וַיִּלְכֹּד אֶת־קְנָת וְאֶת־בְּנֹתֶיהָ וַיִּקְרָא לָה נֹבַח בִּשְׁמוֹ׃	V'Novach holach vayilkod es-K'nas v'es-b'nosehoh, vayikro loh Novach bishmo.	And Nobah went and took Kenath, and its villages, and called it Nobah, after his own name.
Chapter 33 — Masei: The Journeys in the Wilderness
33:1	אֵלֶּה מַסְעֵי בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר יָצְאוּ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם לְצִבְאֹתָם בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן׃	Eleh mas'ei v'nei-Yisroel asher yotz'u mei'eretz Mitzrayim l'tzivosom b'yad-Moshe v'Aharon.	These are the journeys of the children of Israel, by which they went forth out of the land of Egypt by their hosts under the hand of Moses and Aaron.
33:2	וַיִּכְתֹּב מֹשֶׁה אֶת־מוֹצָאֵיהֶם לְמַסְעֵיהֶם עַל־פִּי יְהוָה וְאֵלֶּה מַסְעֵיהֶם לְמוֹצָאֵיהֶם׃	Vayichtov Moshe es-motzo'eihem l'mas'eihem al-pi Adonoy, v'eleh mas'eihem l'motzo'eihem.	And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of the Eternal; and these are their journeys according to their goings out.
33:3	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵרַעְמְסֵס בַּחֹדֶשׁ הָרִאשׁוֹן בַּחֲמִשָּׁה עָשָׂר יוֹם לַחֹדֶשׁ הָרִאשׁוֹן מִמָּחֳרַת הַפֶּסַח יָצְאוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּיָד רָמָה לְעֵינֵי כָּל־מִצְרָיִם׃	Vayis'u meiRa'm'seis bachodesh horishon, bachamishoh osor yom lachodesh horishon; mimochoras haPesach yotz'u v'nei-Yisroel b'yod romoh l'einei kol-Mitzroyim.	And they journeyed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the Passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,
33:4	וּמִצְרַיִם מְקַבְּרִים אֵת אֲשֶׁר הִכָּה יְהוָה בָּהֶם כָּל־בְּכוֹר וּבֵאלֹהֵיהֶם עָשָׂה יְהוָה שְׁפָטִים׃	uMitzroyim m'kabrim eis asher hikoh Adonoy bohem kol-b'chor, uveiloheihem osoh Adonoy sh'fotim.	while the Egyptians were burying those whom the Eternal had struck among them, even all their first-born; upon their gods also the Eternal executed judgments.
33:5	וַיִּסְעוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵרַעְמְסֵס וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּסֻכֹּת׃	Vayis'u v'nei-Yisroel meiRa'm'seis, vayachanu b'Sukos.	And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth.
33:6	וַיִּסְעוּ מִסֻּכֹּת וַיַּחֲנוּ בְאֵתָם אֲשֶׁר בִּקְצֵה הַמִּדְבָּר׃	Vayis'u miSukos, vayachanu v'Eisom asher biktzeih hamidbor.	And they journeyed from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.
33:7	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵאֵתָם וַיָּשָׁב עַל־פִּי הַחִירֹת אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי בַּעַל צְפוֹן וַיַּחֲנוּ לִפְנֵי מִגְדֹּל׃	Vayis'u mei'Eisom, vayoshov al-pi haChiros asher al-p'nei Ba'al Tz'fon, vayachanu lifnei Migdol.	And they journeyed from Etham, and turned back to Pi-hahiroth, which is before Baal-zephon, and they encamped before Migdol.
33:8	וַיִּסְעוּ מִפְּנֵי הַחִירֹת וַיַּעַבְרוּ בְתוֹךְ־הַיָּם הַמִּדְבָּרָה וַיֵּלְכוּ דֶּרֶךְ שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים בְּמִדְבַּר אֵתָם וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּמָרָה׃	Vayis'u mipnei haChiros, vaya'avru v'soch-hayom hamidboroh, vayeilchu derech sh'losses yomim b'midbor Eisom, vayachanu b'Moroh.	And they journeyed from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness; and they went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah.
33:9	וַיִּסְעוּ מִמָּרָה וַיָּבֹאוּ אֵילִמָה וּבְאֵילִם שְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵה עֵינֹת מַיִם וְשִׁבְעִים תְּמָרִים וַיַּחֲנוּ־שָׁם׃	Vayis'u miMoroh, vayovo'u Eilimoh; uv'Eilim sh'teim esrei einos mayim v'shiv'im t'morim, vayachanu-shom.	And they journeyed from Marah, and came to Elim; and in Elim were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees; and they encamped there.
33:10	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵאֵילִם וַיַּחֲנוּ עַל־יַם־סוּף׃	Vayis'u mei'Eilim, vayachanu al-Yam-Suf.	And they journeyed from Elim, and encamped by the Red Sea.
33:11	וַיִּסְעוּ מִיַּם־סוּף וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּמִדְבַּר־סִין׃	Vayis'u miYam-Suf, vayachanu b'midbar-Sin.	And they journeyed from the Red Sea, and encamped in the wilderness of Sin.
33:12	וַיִּסְעוּ מִמִּדְבַּר־סִין וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּדָפְקָה׃	Vayis'u mimidbar-Sin, vayachanu b'Dofkoh.	And they journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah.
33:13	וַיִּסְעוּ מִדָּפְקָה וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּאָלוּשׁ׃	Vayis'u miDofkoh, vayachanu b'Olush.	And they journeyed from Dophkah, and encamped in Alush.
33:14	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵאָלוּשׁ וַיַּחֲנוּ בִּרְפִידִם וְלֹא־הָיָה שָׁם מַיִם לָעָם לִשְׁתּוֹת׃	Vayis'u mei'Olush, vayachanu biR'fidim, v'lo-hoyoh shom mayim lo'om lishtos.	And they journeyed from Alush, and encamped in Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.
33:15	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵרְפִידִם וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּמִדְבַּר סִינָי׃	Vayis'u meiR'fidim, vayachanu b'midbar Sinoy.	And they journeyed from Rephidim, and encamped in the wilderness of Sinai.
33:16	וַיִּסְעוּ מִמִּדְבַּר סִינָי וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּקִבְרֹת הַתַּאֲוָה׃	Vayis'u mimidbar Sinoy, vayachanu b'Kivros haTa'avoh.	And they journeyed from the wilderness of Sinai, and encamped in Kibroth-hattaavah.
33:17	וַיִּסְעוּ מִקִּבְרֹת הַתַּאֲוָה וַיַּחֲנוּ בַּחֲצֵרֹת׃	Vayis'u miKivros haTa'avoh, vayachanu baChatzeiros.	And they journeyed from Kibroth-hattaavah, and encamped in Hazeroth.
33:18	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵחֲצֵרֹת וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּרִתְמָה׃	Vayis'u meiChatzeiros, vayachanu b'Rismoh.	And they journeyed from Hazeroth, and encamped in Rithmah.
33:19	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵרִתְמָה וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּרִמֹּן פָּרֶץ׃	Vayis'u meiRismoh, vayachanu b'Rimon Poretz.	And they journeyed from Rithmah, and encamped in Rimmon-perez.
33:20	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵרִמֹּן פָּרֶץ וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּלִבְנָה׃	Vayis'u meiRimon Poretz, vayachanu b'Livnoh.	And they journeyed from Rimmon-perez, and encamped in Libnah.
33:21	וַיִּסְעוּ מִלִּבְנָה וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּרִסָּה׃	Vayis'u miLivnoh, vayachanu b'Risoh.	And they journeyed from Libnah, and encamped in Rissah.
33:22	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵרִסָּה וַיַּחֲנוּ בִּקְהֵלָתָה׃	Vayis'u meiRisoh, vayachanu biK'heiloso.	And they journeyed from Rissah, and encamped in Kehelathah.
33:23	וַיִּסְעוּ מִקְּהֵלָתָה וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּהַר־שָׁפֶר׃	Vayis'u miK'heiloso, vayachanu b'Har-Shofer.	And they journeyed from Kehelathah, and encamped in Mount Shepher.
33:24	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵהַר־שָׁפֶר וַיַּחֲנוּ בַּחֲרָדָה׃	Vayis'u meiHar-Shofer, vayachanu baCharodoh.	And they journeyed from Mount Shepher, and encamped in Haradah.
33:25	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵחֲרָדָה וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּמַקְהֵלֹת׃	Vayis'u meiCharodoh, vayachanu b'Makheilos.	And they journeyed from Haradah, and encamped in Makheloth.
33:26	וַיִּסְעוּ מִמַּקְהֵלֹת וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּתָחַת׃	Vayis'u miMakheilos, vayachanu b'Tochas.	And they journeyed from Makheloth, and encamped in Tahath.
33:27	וַיִּסְעוּ מִתָּחַת וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּתָרַח׃	Vayis'u miTochas, vayachanu b'Torach.	And they journeyed from Tahath, and encamped in Terah.
33:28	וַיִּסְעוּ מִתָּרַח וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּמִתְקָה׃	Vayis'u miTorach, vayachanu b'Miskoh.	And they journeyed from Terah, and encamped in Mithkah.
33:29	וַיִּסְעוּ מִמִּתְקָה וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּחַשְׁמֹנָה׃	Vayis'u miMiskoh, vayachanu b'Chashmonoh.	And they journeyed from Mithkah, and encamped in Hashmonah.
33:30	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵחַשְׁמֹנָה וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּמֹסֵרוֹת׃	Vayis'u meiChashmonoh, vayachanu b'Moseiros.	And they journeyed from Hashmonah, and encamped in Moseroth.
33:31	וַיִּסְעוּ מִמֹּסֵרוֹת וַיַּחֲנוּ בִּבְנֵי יַעֲקָן׃	Vayis'u miMoseiros, vayachanu biVnei Ya'akon.	And they journeyed from Moseroth, and encamped in Bene-jaakan.
33:32	וַיִּסְעוּ מִבְּנֵי יַעֲקָן וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּחֹר הַגִּדְגָּד׃	Vayis'u miBnei Ya'akon, vayachanu b'Chor haGidgod.	And they journeyed from Bene-jaakan, and encamped in Hor-haggidgad.
33:33	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵחֹר הַגִּדְגָּד וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּיָטְבָתָה׃	Vayis'u meiChor haGidgod, vayachanu b'Yotvosoh.	And they journeyed from Hor-haggidgad, and encamped in Jotbathah.
33:34	וַיִּסְעוּ מִיָּטְבָתָה וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּעַבְרֹנָה׃	Vayis'u miYotvosoh, vayachanu b'Avronoh.	And they journeyed from Jotbathah, and encamped in Abronah.
33:35	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵעַבְרֹנָה וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּעֶצְיוֹן גָּבֶר׃	Vayis'u mei'Avronoh, vayachanu b'Etzyon Gover.	And they journeyed from Abronah, and encamped in Ezion-geber.
33:36	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵעֶצְיוֹן גָּבֶר וַיַּחֲנוּ בְמִדְבַּר־צִן הִוא קָדֵשׁ׃	Vayis'u mei'Etzyon Gover, vayachanu v'midbar-Tzin hi Kodeish.	And they journeyed from Ezion-geber, and encamped in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh.
33:37	וַיִּסְעוּ מִקָּדֵשׁ וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּהֹר הָהָר בִּקְצֵה אֶרֶץ אֱדוֹם׃	Vayis'u miKodeish, vayachanu b'Hor hoHor, biktzeih eretz Edom.	And they journeyed from Kadesh, and encamped in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.
33:38	וַיַּעַל אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן אֶל־הֹר הָהָר עַל־פִּי יְהוָה וַיָּמָת שָׁם בִּשְׁנַת הָאַרְבָּעִים לְצֵאת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַחֲמִישִׁי בְּאֶחָד לַחֹדֶשׁ׃	Vaya'al Aharon hakohen el-Hor hoHor al-pi Adonoy, vayomos shom bishnas ho'arba'im l'tzeis b'nei-Yisroel mei'eretz Mitzrayim, bachodesh hachamishi b'echod lachodesh.	And Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of the Eternal, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.
33:39	וְאַהֲרֹן בֶּן־שָׁלֹשׁ וְעֶשְׂרִים וּמְאַת שָׁנָה בְּמֹתוֹ בְּהֹר הָהָר׃	V'Aharon ben-sholosh v'esrim um'as shonoh b'moso b'Hor hoHor.	And Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.

And the Canaanite king of Arad, who dwelt in the South, in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.

33:42	וַיִּסְעוּ מִצַּלְמֹנָה וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּפוּנֹן׃	Vayis'u miTzalmonoh, vayachanu b'Punon.	And they journeyed from Zalmonah, and encamped in Punon.
33:43	וַיִּסְעוּ מִפּוּנֹן וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּאֹבֹת׃	Vayis'u miPunon, vayachanu b'Ovos.	And they journeyed from Punon, and encamped in Oboth.
33:44	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵאֹבֹת וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּעִיֵּי הָעֲבָרִים בִּגְבוּל מוֹאָב׃	Vayis'u mei'Ovos, vayachanu b'Iyei ho'Avorim, bigvul Mo'ov.	And they journeyed from Oboth, and encamped in Iye-abarim, in the border of Moab.
33:45	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵעִיִּים וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּדִיבֹן גָּד׃	Vayis'u mei'Iyim, vayachanu b'Divon Gad.	And they journeyed from Iyim, and encamped in Dibon-gad.
33:46	וַיִּסְעוּ מִדִּיבֹן גָּד וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּעַלְמֹן דִּבְלָתָיְמָה׃	Vayis'u miDivon Gad, vayachanu b'Almon Divlosoymoh.	And they journeyed from Dibon-gad, and encamped in Almon-diblathaim.
33:47	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵעַלְמֹן דִּבְלָתָיְמָה וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּהָרֵי הָעֲבָרִים לִפְנֵי נְבוֹ׃	Vayis'u mei'Almon Divlosoymoh, vayachanu b'Horei ho'Avorim lifnei N'vo.	And they journeyed from Almon-diblathaim, and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.
33:48	וַיִּסְעוּ מֵהָרֵי הָעֲבָרִים וַיַּחֲנוּ בְּעַרְבֹת מוֹאָב עַל יַרְדֵּן יְרֵחוֹ׃	Vayis'u meiHorei ho'Avorim, vayachanu b'Arvos Mo'ov al Yarden Y'recho.	And they journeyed from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

33:53	וְהוֹרַשְׁתֶּם אֶת־הָאָרֶץ וִישַׁבְתֶּם־בָּהּ כִּי לָכֶם נָתַתִּי אֶת־הָאָרֶץ לָרֶשֶׁת אֹתָהּ׃	V'horashtem es-ho'oretz vishavtem-boh, ki lochem nosati es-ho'oretz loreshes osoh.	And you shall take possession of the land, and dwell in it; for to you have I given the land to possess it.

33:55	וְאִם־לֹא תוֹרִישׁוּ אֶת־יֹשְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ מִפְּנֵיכֶם וְהָיָה אֲשֶׁר תּוֹתִירוּ מֵהֶם לְשִׂכִּים בְּעֵינֵיכֶם וְלִצְנִינִם בְּצִדֵּיכֶם וְצָרֲרוּ אֶתְכֶם עַל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם יֹשְׁבִים בָּהּ׃	V'im-lo sorishu es-yoshvei ho'oretz mipneichem, v'hoyoh asher tosiru meihem l'sikim b'eineichem ul'tzninim b'tzideichem, v'tzor'ru eschem al-ho'oretz asher atem yoshvim boh. 33:56	וְהָיָה כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּמִּיתִי לַעֲשׂוֹת לָהֶם אֶעֱשֶׂה לָכֶם׃	V'hoyoh ka'asher dimisi la'asos lohem, e'eseh lochem.	And it shall come to pass, that as I thought to do to them, so will I do to you.
Chapter 34 — The Borders of the Land
34:1	וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר׃	Vayedaber Adonoy el-Moshe leimor.	And the Eternal spoke to Moses, saying:
34:2	צַו אֶת־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם כִּי־אַתֶּם בָּאִים אֶל־הָאָרֶץ כְּנָעַן זֹאת הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר תִּפֹּל לָכֶם בְּנַחֲלָה אֶרֶץ כְּנַעַן לִגְבֻלֹתֶיהָ׃	Tzav es-b'nei Yisroel v'omarto aleihem: ki-atem bo'im el-ho'oretz K'na'an, zos ho'oretz asher tipol lochem b'nachaloh, eretz K'na'an ligvuloseho.	Command the children of Israel, and say to them: When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan according to its borders.
34:3	וְהָיָה לָכֶם פְּאַת־נֶגֶב מִמִּדְבַּר־צִן עַל־יְדֵי אֱדוֹם וְהָיָה לָכֶם גְּבוּל נֶגֶב מִקְצֵה יָם־הַמֶּלַח קֵדְמָה׃	V'hoyoh lochem p'as-negev mimidbar-Tzin al-y'dei Edom, v'hoyoh lochem g'vul negev miktzeih Yam-hamelach keidmoh.	Then your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the side of Edom, and your south border shall be from the end of the Salt Sea eastward;
34:4	וְנָסַב לָכֶם הַגְּבוּל מִנֶּגֶב לְמַעֲלֵה עַקְרַבִּים וְעָבַר צִנָה וְהָיוּ תוֹצְאֹתָיו מִנֶּגֶב לְקָדֵשׁ בַּרְנֵעַ וְיָצָא חֲצַר־אַדָּר וְעָבַר עַצְמֹנָה׃	V'nosav lochem hag'vul minegev l'ma'aleih Akrabim, v'ovar Tzinoh; v'hoyu totz'osov minegev l'Kodeish Barnei'a, v'yotzo Chatzar-Ador, v'ovar Atzmonoh.	and your border shall turn about southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass along to Zin; and it shall pass southward of Kadesh-barnea, and go on to Hazar-addar, and pass along to Azmon;
34:5	וְנָסַב הַגְּבוּל מֵעַצְמוֹן נַחְלָה מִצְרָיִם וְהָיוּ תוֹצְאֹתָיו הַיָּמָּה׃	V'nosav hag'vul mei'Atzmon nachloh Mitzroyim, v'hoyu totz'osov hayomoh.	and the border shall turn about from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and its goings out shall be at the sea.
34:6	וּגְבוּל יָם וְהָיָה לָכֶם הַיָּם הַגָּדוֹל וּגְבוּל זֶה־יִהְיֶה לָכֶם גְּבוּל יָם׃	Ug'vul yom, v'hoyoh lochem hayom hagodol ug'vul; zeh-yihyeh lochem g'vul yom.	And for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea for a border; this shall be your west border.
34:7	וְזֶה־יִהְיֶה לָכֶם גְּבוּל צָפוֹן מִן־הַיָּם הַגָּדֹל תְּתָאוּ לָכֶם הֹר הָהָר׃	V'zeh-yihyeh lochem g'vul tzofon: min-hayom hagodol t'to'u lochem Hor hoHor.	And this shall be your north border: from the Great Sea you shall mark out for you Mount Hor;
34:8	מֵהֹר הָהָר תְּתָאוּ לְבֹא חֲמָת וְהָיוּ תּוֹצְאֹת הַגְּבֻל צְדָדָה׃	MeiHor hoHor t'to'u l'vo Chamos, v'hoyu totz'os hag'vul Tz'dodoh.	from Mount Hor you shall mark out to the entrance of Hamath; and the goings out of the border shall be at Zedad;
34:9	וְיָצָא הַגְּבֻל זִפְרֹנָה וְהָיוּ תוֹצְאֹתָיו חֲצַר עֵינָן זֶה־יִהְיֶה לָכֶם גְּבוּל צָפוֹן׃	V'yotzo hag'vul Zifronoh, v'hoyu totz'osov Chatzar Einon; zeh-yihyeh lochem g'vul tzofon.	and the border shall go on to Ziphron, and its goings out shall be at Hazar-enan; this shall be your north border.
34:10	וְהִתְאַוִּיתֶם לָכֶם לִגְבוּל קֵדְמָה מֵחֲצַר עֵינָן שְׁפָמָה׃	V'hisaviisem lochem ligvul keidmoh mei'Chatzar Einon Sh'fomoh.	And you shall mark out your east border from Hazar-enan to Shepham;
34:11	וְיָרַד הַגְּבֻל מִשְּׁפָם הָרִבְלָה מִקֶּדֶם לָעָיִן וְיָרַד הַגְּבוּל וּמָחָה עַל־כֶּתֶף יָם־כִּנֶּרֶת קֵדְמָה׃	V'yorad hag'vul miSh'fom hoRivloh mikedem lo'Oyin; v'yorad hag'vul umocho al-keses Yam-Kineres keidmoh.	and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall go down, and shall reach to the side of the Sea of Chinnereth eastward;
34:12	וְיָרַד הַגְּבוּל הַיַּרְדֵּנָה וְהָיוּ תוֹצְאֹתָיו יָם הַמֶּלַח זֹאת תִּהְיֶה לָכֶם הָאָרֶץ לִגְבֻלֹתֶיהָ סָבִיב׃	V'yorad hag'vul haYardeinoh, v'hoyu totz'osov Yom hamelach; zos tihyeh lochem ho'oretz ligvuloseho sovivov.	and the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its goings out shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land according to its borders round about.
34:13	וַיְצַו מֹשֶׁה אֶת־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר זֹאת הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר תִּתְנַחֲלוּ אֹתָהּ בְּגוֹרָל אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה לָתֵת לְתִשְׁעַת הַמַּטּוֹת וַחֲצִי הַמַּטֶּה׃	Vay'tzav Moshe es-b'nei Yisroel leimor: zos ho'oretz asher tisnachalu osoh b'goral, asher tzivah Adonoy loseis l'tish'as hamatos vachatzi hamateh.	And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying: This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which the Eternal has commanded to give to the nine tribes, and to the half-tribe;
34:14	כִּי לָקְחוּ מַטֵּה בְנֵי הָראוּבֵנִי לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם וּמַטֵּה בְנֵי־הַגָּדִי לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם וַחֲצִי מַטֵּה מְנַשֶּׁה לָקְחוּ נַחֲלָתָם׃	Ki lok'chu mateh v'nei ho'Ruveini l'veis avosom, umateh v'nei-haGodi l'veis avosom, vachatzi mateh M'nasheh lok'chu nachalosom.	for the tribe of the children of Reuben according to their fathers' houses, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to their fathers' houses, have received, and the half-tribe of Manasseh has received, their inheritance;

34:18	וְנָשִׂיא אֶחָד נָשִׂיא אֶחָד מִמַּטֶּה תִּקְחוּ לִנְחֹל אֶת־הָאָרֶץ׃	V'nosi echod, nosi echod mimateh, tikchu linchol es-ho'oretz.	And you shall take one prince from every tribe, to divide the land for inheritance.
34:19	וְאֵלֶּה שְׁמוֹת הָאֲנָשִׁים לְמַטֵּה יְהוּדָה כָּלֵב בֶּן־יְפֻנֶּה׃	V'eleh sh'mos ho'anoshim: l'mateh Y'hudoh, Kolev ben-Y'funeh.	And these are the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
34:20	וּלְמַטֵּה בְּנֵי שִׁמְעוֹן שְׁמוּאֵל בֶּן־עַמִּיהוּד׃	Ul'mateh b'nei Shim'on, Sh'mu'eil ben-Amihud.	And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud.
34:21	לְמַטֵּה בִנְיָמִן אֱלִידָד בֶּן־כִּסְלוֹן׃	L'mateh Binyomin, Elidod ben-Kisslon.	Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.
34:22	וּלְמַטֵּה בְנֵי־דָן נָשִׂיא בֻּקִּי בֶּן־יָגְלִי׃	Ul'mateh v'nei-Don, nosi Buki ben-Yogli.	And of the tribe of the children of Dan a prince, Bukki the son of Jogli.
34:23	לִבְנֵי יוֹסֵף לְמַטֵּה בְנֵי־מְנַשֶּׁה נָשִׂיא חַנִּיאֵל בֶּן־אֵפֹד׃	Livnei Yosef, l'mateh v'nei-M'nasheh, nosi Chani'eil ben-Eifod.	Of the children of Joseph: of the tribe of the children of Manasseh a prince, Hanniel the son of Ephod.
34:24	וּלְמַטֵּה בְנֵי־אֶפְרַיִם נָשִׂיא קְמוּאֵל בֶּן־שִׁפְטָן׃	Ul'mateh v'nei-Efrayim, nosi K'mu'eil ben-Shiftan.	And of the tribe of the children of Ephraim a prince, Kemuel the son of Shiftan.
34:25	וּלְמַטֵּה בְנֵי־זְבוּלֻן נָשִׂיא אֱלִיצָפָן בֶּן־פַּרְנָךְ׃	Ul'mateh v'nei-Z'vulun, nosi Elitzofon ben-Parnoch.	And of the tribe of the children of Zebulun a prince, Elizaphan the son of Parnach.
34:26	וּלְמַטֵּה בְנֵי־יִשָׂשכָר נָשִׂיא פַּלְטִיאֵל בֶּן־עַזָּן׃	Ul'mateh v'nei-Yissoschor, nosi Paltiel ben-Azon.	And of the tribe of the children of Issachar a prince, Paltiel the son of Azzan.
34:27	וּלְמַטֵּה בְנֵי־אָשֵׁר נָשִׂיא אֲחִיהוּד בֶּן־שְׁלֹמִי׃	Ul'mateh v'nei-Osheir, nosi Achihud ben-Sh'lomi.	And of the tribe of the children of Asher a prince, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.
34:28	וּלְמַטֵּה בְנֵי־נַפְתָּלִי נָשִׂיא פְּדַהְאֵל בֶּן־עַמִּיהוּד׃	Ul'mateh v'nei-Naftoli, nosi P'dah'eil ben-Amihud.	And of the tribe of the children of Naphtali a prince, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.
34:29	אֵלֶּה אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה לְנַחֵל אֶת־בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן׃	Eleh asher tzivah Adonoy l'nacheil es-b'nei-Yisroel b'eretz K'na'an.	These are they whom the Eternal commanded to divide the inheritance to the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.
Chapter 35 — The Levitical Cities and Cities of Refuge
35:1	וַיְדַבֵּר יְהוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה בְּעַרְבֹת מוֹאָב עַל־יַרְדֵּן יְרֵחוֹ לֵאמֹר׃	Vayedaber Adonoy el-Moshe b'Arvos Mo'ov al-Yarden Y'recho leimor.	And the Eternal spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying:
35:2	צַו אֶת־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְנָתְנוּ לַלְוִיִּם מִנַּחֲלַת אֲחֻזָּתָם עָרִים לָשָׁבֶת וּמִגְרָשׁ לֶעָרִים סְבִיבֹתֵיהֶם תִּתְּנוּ לַלְוִיִּם׃	Tzav es-b'nei Yisroel v'nosnu lal'viyim minachalas achuzosom orim losheves, umigrosh le'orim s'vivoseihem titnu lal'viyim.	Command the children of Israel, that they give to the Levites, from the inheritance of their possession, cities to dwell in; and open land round about the cities shall you give to the Levites.
35:3	וְהָיוּ הֶעָרִים לָהֶם לָשָׁבֶת וּמִגְרְשֵׁיהֶם יִהְיוּ לִבְהֶמְתָּם וְלִרְכֻשָׁם וּלְכֹל חַיָּתָם׃	V'hoyu he'orim lohem losheves, umigr'sheihem yihyu liv'hemtom v'lirchushom ul'chol chayosom.	And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and their open land shall be for their cattle, and for their substance, and for all their beasts.
35:4	וּמִגְרְשֵׁי הֶעָרִים אֲשֶׁר תִּתְּנוּ לַלְוִיִּם מִקִּיר הָעִיר וָחוּצָה אֶלֶף אַמָּה סָבִיב׃	Umigr'shei he'orim asher titnu lal'viyim, mikir ho'ir vochutzoh, elef amoh sovivov.	And the open land about the cities, which you shall give to the Levites, shall be from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.
35:5	וּמַדֹּתֶם מִחוּץ לָעִיר אֶת־פְּאַת־קֵדְמָה אַלְפַּיִם בָּאַמָּה וְאֶת־פְּאַת־נֶגֶב אַלְפַּיִם בָּאַמָּה וְאֶת־פְּאַת־יָם אַלְפַּיִם בָּאַמָּה וְאֵת פְּאַת צָפוֹן אַלְפַּיִם בָּאַמָּה וְהָעִיר בַּתָּוֶךְ זֶה יִהְיֶה לָהֶם מִגְרְשֵׁי הֶעָרִים׃	Umadosem michutz lo'ir es-p'as-keidmoh alpayim bo'amoh, v'es-p'as-negev alpayim bo'amoh, v'es-p'as-yom alpayim bo'amoh, v'eis p'as tzofon alpayim bo'amoh, v'ho'ir batovech; zeh yihyeh lohem migr'shei he'orim.	And you shall measure outside the city, for the east side two thousand cubits, and for the south side two thousand cubits, and for the west side two thousand cubits, and for the north side two thousand cubits, the city being in the middle; this shall be to them the open land about the cities.
35:6	וְאֵת הֶעָרִים אֲשֶׁר תִּתְּנוּ לַלְוִיִּם אֵת שֵׁשׁ־עָרֵי הַמִּקְלָט אֲשֶׁר תִּתְּנוּ לָנֻס שָׁמָּה הָרֹצֵחַ וַעֲלֵיהֶם תִּתְּנוּ אַרְבָּעִים וּשְׁתַּיִם עִיר׃	V'eis he'orim asher titnu lal'viyim, eis shesh-orei hamiklot asher titnu lonus shomoh horotzei'ach, va'aleihem titnu arba'im ush'tayim ir.	And among the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be the six cities of refuge, which you shall give for the manslayer to flee to; and besides them you shall give forty-two cities.
35:7	כָּל־הֶעָרִים אֲשֶׁר תִּתְּנוּ לַלְוִיִּם אַרְבָּעִים וּשְׁמֹנֶה עִיר אֶתְהֶן וְאֶת־מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶן׃	Kol-he'orim asher titnu lal'viyim, arba'im ush'moneh ir; es'hen v'es-migr'sheihen.	All the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be forty-eight cities, together with their open land.
35:8	וְהֶעָרִים אֲשֶׁר תִּתְּנוּ מֵאֲחֻזַּת בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאֵת הָרַב תַּרְבּוּ וּמֵאֵת הַמְעַט תַּמְעִיטוּ אִישׁ כְּפִי נַחֲלָתוֹ אֲשֶׁר יִנְחָלוּ יִתֵּן מֵעָרָיו לַלְוִיִּם׃	V'he'orim asher titnu mei'achuzas b'nei-Yisroel, mei'eis horav tarbu umei'eis ham'at tam'itu; ish k'fi nachalaso asher yincholu yiten mei'orov lal'viyim.	And concerning the cities which you shall give from the possession of the children of Israel, from the many you shall give many, and from the few you shall give few; every one according to his inheritance which he inherits shall give some of his cities to the Levites.

35:11	וְהִקְרִיתֶם לָכֶם עָרִים עָרֵי מִקְלָט תִּהְיֶינָה לָכֶם וְנָס שָׁמָּה רֹצֵחַ מַכֵּה־נֶפֶשׁ בִּשְׁגָגָה׃	V'hikrisem lochem orim, orei miklot tihyenoh lochem, v'nos shomoh rotzei'ach makeih-nefesh bishgogoh.	then you shall appoint for yourselves cities to be cities of refuge, that the manslayer who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.
35:12	וְהָיוּ לָכֶם הֶעָרִים לְמִקְלָט מִגֹּאֵל וְלֹא יָמוּת הָרֹצֵחַ עַד־עָמְדוֹ לִפְנֵי הָעֵדָה לַמִּשְׁפָּט׃	V'hoyu lochem he'orim l'miklot migoeil, v'lo yomus horotzei'ach ad-omdo lifnei ho'eidah lamishpot.	And the cities shall be to you for refuge from the avenger, that the manslayer not die, until he stands before the congregation for judgment.
35:13	וְהֶעָרִים אֲשֶׁר תִּתֵּנוּ שֵׁשׁ־עָרֵי מִקְלָט תִּהְיֶינָה לָכֶם׃	V'he'orim asher titeinu, shesh-orei miklot tihyenoh lochem.	And the cities which you shall give shall be your six cities of refuge.
35:14	אֵת שְׁלֹשׁ הֶעָרִים תִּתְּנוּ מֵעֵבֶר לַיַּרְדֵּן וְאֵת שְׁלֹשׁ הֶעָרִים תִּתְּנוּ בְּאֶרֶץ כְּנָעַן עָרֵי מִקְלָט תִּהְיֶינָה׃	Eis sh'losh he'orim titnu mei'eiver laYarden, v'eis sh'losh he'orim titnu b'eretz K'na'an; orei miklot tihyenoh. 35:15	לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְלַגֵּר וְלַתּוֹשָׁב בְּתוֹכָם תִּהְיֶינָה שֵׁשׁ־הֶעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה לְמִקְלָט לָנוּס שָׁמָּה כָּל־מַכֵּה־נֶפֶשׁ בִּשְׁגָגָה׃	Livnei Yisroel v'lager v'latoshov b'sochom tihyenoh sheish-he'orim ho'eileh l'miklot, lonus shomoh kol-makeih-nefesh bishgogoh.	For the children of Israel, and for the stranger and for the sojourner among them, shall these six cities be for refuge, that every one who kills any person unwittingly may flee there.
35:16	וְאִם־בִּכְלִי בַרְזֶל הִכָּהוּ וַיָּמֹת רֹצֵחַ הוּא מוֹת יוּמַת הָרֹצֵחַ׃	V'im-bichli varzel hikoho vayomos, rotzei'ach hu; mos yumas horotzei'ach.	But if he struck him with an instrument of iron, so that he died, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.
35:17	וְאִם בְּאֶבֶן יָד אֲשֶׁר־יָמוּת בָּהּ הִכָּהוּ וַיָּמֹת רֹצֵחַ הוּא מוֹת יוּמַת הָרֹצֵחַ׃	V'im b'even yod asher-yomus boh hikoho vayomos, rotzei'ach hu; mos yumas horotzei'ach.	And if he struck him with a stone in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.
35:18	אוֹ בִּכְלִי עֵץ־יָד אֲשֶׁר־יָמוּת בּוֹ הִכָּהוּ וַיָּמֹת רֹצֵחַ הוּא מוֹת יוּמַת הָרֹצֵחַ׃	O bichli eitz-yod asher-yomus bo hikoho vayomos, rotzei'ach hu; mos yumas horotzei'ach.	Or if he struck him with a weapon of wood in the hand, by which a man may die, and he died, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be put to death.
35:19	גֹּאֵל הַדָּם הוּא יָמִית אֶת־הָרֹצֵחַ בְּפִגְעוֹ־בוֹ הוּא יְמִיתֶנּוּ׃	Go'eil hadom hu yomis es-horotzei'ach; b'fig'o-vo hu y'misenu.	The avenger of blood shall himself put the murderer to death; when he meets him, he shall put him to death.
35:20	וְאִם־בְּשִׂנְאָה יֶהְדָּפֶנּוּ אוֹ־הִשְׁלִיךְ עָלָיו בִּצְדִיָּה וַיָּמֹת׃	V'im-b'sin'oh yehdofenu o-hishlich olov b'tzdiyoh vayomos.	And if he thrust him of hatred, or hurled at him lying in wait, so that he died,
35:21	אוֹ בְאֵיבָה הִכָּהוּ בְיָדוֹ וַיָּמֹת מוֹת־יוּמַת הַמַּכֶּה רֹצֵחַ הוּא גֹּאֵל הַדָּם יָמִית אֶת־הָרֹצֵחַ בְּפִגְעוֹ־בוֹ׃	O v'eivoh hikoho v'yodo vayomos, mos-yumas hamakeh, rotzei'ach hu; go'eil hadom yomis es-horotzei'ach b'fig'o-vo.	or in enmity struck him with his hand, so that he died; he who struck him shall surely be put to death; he is a murderer; the avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death when he meets him.
35:22	וְאִם־בְּפֶתַע בְּלֹא־אֵיבָה הֲדָפוֹ אוֹ־הִשְׁלִיךְ עָלָיו כָּל־כְּלִי בְּלֹא צְדִיָּה׃	V'im-b'fesa b'lo-eivoh hadofo, o-hishlich olov kol-k'li b'lo tzdiyoh.	But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or hurled upon him anything without lying in wait,
35:23	אוֹ בְכָל־אֶבֶן אֲשֶׁר־יָמוּת בָּהּ בְּלֹא רְאוֹת וַיַּפֵּל עָלָיו וַיָּמֹת וְהוּא לֹא־אוֹיֵב לוֹ וְלֹא מְבַקֵּשׁ רָעָתוֹ׃	O v'chol-even asher-yomus boh b'lo r'os, vayapeil olov vayomos; v'hu lo-oyeiv lo v'lo m'vakeish ro'aso.	or with any stone, by which a man may die, not seeing him, and cast it upon him, so that he died, and he was not his enemy, nor sought his harm;
35:24	וְשָׁפְטוּ הָעֵדָה בֵּין הַמַּכֶּה וּבֵין גֹּאֵל הַדָּם עַל הַמִּשְׁפָּטִים הָאֵלֶּה׃	V'shof'tu ho'eidah bein hamakeh uvein go'eil hadom, al hamishpotim ho'eileh.	then the congregation shall judge between the striker and the avenger of blood according to these ordinances;
35:25	וְהִצִּילוּ הָעֵדָה אֶת־הָרֹצֵחַ מִיַּד גֹּאֵל הַדָּם וְהֵשִׁיבוּ אֹתוֹ הָעֵדָה אֶל־עִיר מִקְלָטוֹ אֲשֶׁר־נָס שָׁמָּה וְיָשַׁב בָּהּ עַד־מוֹת הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדֹל אֲשֶׁר־מָשַׁח אֹתוֹ בְּשֶׁמֶן הַקֹּדֶשׁ׃	V'hitzilu ho'eidah es-horotzei'ach miyad go'eil hadom, v'heishivu oso ho'eidah el-ir miklato asher-nos shomoh, v'yoshav boh ad-mos hakohen hagodol asher-moshach oso b'shemen hakodesh.	and the congregation shall deliver the manslayer out of the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge, to which he had fled; and he shall dwell there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.
35:26	וְאִם־יָצֹא יֵצֵא הָרֹצֵחַ אֶת־גְּבוּל עִיר מִקְלָטוֹ אֲשֶׁר יָנוּס שָׁמָּה׃	V'im-yotzo yeitzei horotzei'ach es-g'vul ir miklato asher yonus shomoh.	But if the manslayer shall at any time go beyond the border of his city of refuge, where he fled,
35:27	וּמָצָא אֹתוֹ גֹּאֵל הַדָּם מִחוּץ לִגְבוּל עִיר מִקְלָטוֹ וְרָצַח גֹּאֵל הַדָּם אֶת־הָרֹצֵחַ אֵין לוֹ דָּם׃	Umotzo oso go'eil hadom michutz ligvul ir miklato, v'rotzach go'eil hadom es-horotzei'ach, ein lo dom.	and the avenger of blood find him outside the border of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood slay the manslayer, there shall be no blood-guilt for him;
35:28	כִּי בְעִיר מִקְלָטוֹ יֵשֵׁב עַד־מוֹת הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדֹל וְאַחֲרֵי מוֹת הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדֹל יָשׁוּב הָרֹצֵחַ אֶל־אֶרֶץ אֲחֻזָּתוֹ׃	Ki v'ir miklato yeisheiv ad-mos hakohen hagodol; v'acharei mos hakohen hagodol yoshuv horotzei'ach el-eretz achuzoso.	because he must remain in his city of refuge until the death of the high priest; but after the death of the high priest the manslayer shall return into the land of his possession.
35:29	וְהָיוּ אֵלֶּה לָכֶם לְחֻקַּת מִשְׁפָּט לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם בְּכֹל מוֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶם׃	V'hoyu eleh lochem l'chukas mishpot l'doroseichem b'chol moshvoseichem.	So these things shall be for a statute of judgment to you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
35:30	כָּל־מַכֵּה־נֶפֶשׁ לְפִי עֵדִים יִרְצַח אֶת־הָרֹצֵחַ וְעֵד אֶחָד לֹא־יַעֲנֶה בְנֶפֶשׁ לָמוּת׃	Kol-makeih-nefesh l'fi eidim yirtzach es-horotzei'ach, v'eid echod lo-ya'aneh v'nefesh lomus.	Whoever kills any person, the murderer shall be slain at the mouth of witnesses; but one witness shall not testify against any person that he die.
35:31	וְלֹא־תִקְחוּ כֹפֶר לְנֶפֶשׁ רֹצֵחַ אֲשֶׁר־הוּא רָשָׁע לָמוּת כִּי־מוֹת יוּמָת׃	V'lo-tikchu chofer l'nefesh rotzei'ach asher-hu roshoh lomus, ki-mos yumos.	Moreover you shall take no ransom for the life of a murderer, who is guilty of death; but he shall surely be put to death.
35:32	וְלֹא־תִקְחוּ כֹפֶר לָנוּס אֶל־עִיר מִקְלָטוֹ לָשׁוּב לָשֶׁבֶת בָּאָרֶץ עַד־מוֹת הַכֹּהֵן׃	V'lo-tikchu chofer lonus el-ir miklato, loshuv losheves bo'oretz ad-mos hakohen.	And you shall take no ransom for him who has fled to his city of refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.
35:33	וְלֹא־תַחֲנִיפוּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם בָּהּ כִּי הַדָּם הוּא יַחֲנִיף אֶת־הָאָרֶץ וְלָאָרֶץ לֹא־יְכֻפַּר לַדָּם אֲשֶׁר שֻׁפַּךְ־בָּהּ כִּי־אִם בְּדַם שֹׁפְכוֹ׃	V'lo-tachanifu es-ho'oretz asher atem boh, ki hadom hu yachanif es-ho'oretz; v'lo'oretz lo-y'chupar ladom asher shupach-boh ki-im b'dam shofcho.	So you shall not pollute the land in which you are; for blood, it pollutes the land; and no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of him who shed it.
35:34	וְלֹא תְטַמֵּא אֶת־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם יֹשְׁבִים בָּהּ אֲשֶׁר אֲנִי שֹׁכֵן בְּתוֹכָהּ כִּי אֲנִי יְהוָה שֹׁכֵן בְּתוֹךְ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃	V'lo t'tamei es-ho'oretz asher atem yoshvim boh, asher ani shochein b'sochoh; ki ani Adonoy shochein b'soch b'nei Yisroel.	And you shall not defile the land in which you dwell, in the midst of which I dwell; for I, the Eternal, dwell in the midst of the children of Israel.
Chapter 36 — The Daughters of Zelophehad
36:1	וַיִּקְרְבוּ רָאשֵׁי הָאָבוֹת לְמִשְׁפַּחַת בְּנֵי־גִלְעָד בֶּן־מָכִיר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁה מִמִּשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי יוֹסֵף וַיְדַבְּרוּ לִפְנֵי מֹשֶׁה וְלִפְנֵי הַנְּשִׂאִים רָאשֵׁי אָבוֹת לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃	Vayikr'vu roshei ho'avos l'mishpachas b'nei-Gil'od ben-Mochir ben-M'nasheh, mimishp'chos b'nei Yosef, vay'dabru lifnei Moshe v'lifnei han'si'im roshei avos livnei Yisroel.	And the heads of the fathers' houses of the family of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spoke before Moses, and before the princes, the heads of the fathers' houses of the children of Israel;
36:2	וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֶת־אֲדֹנִי צִוָּה יְהוָה לָתֵת אֶת־הָאָרֶץ בְּנַחֲלָה בְּגוֹרָל לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וַאדֹנִי צֻוָּה בַיהוָה לָתֵת אֶת־נַחֲלַת צְלָפְחָד אָחִינוּ לִבְנֹתָיו׃	Vayomru: es-adoni tzivah Adonoy loseis es-ho'oretz b'nachaloh b'goral livnei Yisroel; v'adoni tzuvoh baAdonoy loseis es-nachalas Tz'lofchod ocheinu livnosov.	and they said: The Eternal commanded my lord to give the land for inheritance by lot to the children of Israel; and my lord was commanded by the Eternal to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.
36:3	וְהָיוּ לְאֶחָד מִבְּנֵי שִׁבְטֵי בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל לְנָשִׁים וְנִגְרְעָה נַחֲלָתָן מִנַּחֲלַת אֲבֹתֵינוּ וְנוֹסַף עַל נַחֲלַת הַמַּטֶּה אֲשֶׁר תִּהְיֶינָה לָהֶם וּמִגֹּרַל נַחֲלָתֵנוּ יִגָּרֵעַ׃	V'hoyu l'echod mibnei shivtei v'nei-Yisroel l'noshim, v'nigr'oh nachalosan minachalas avoseinu, v'nosaf al nachalas hamateh asher tihyenoh lohem, umigoral nachlaseinu yigorei'a.	And if they are married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then their inheritance will be taken away from the inheritance of our fathers, and will be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong; so it will be taken away from the lot of our inheritance.
36:4	וְאִם־יִהְיֶה הַיֹּבֵל לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְנוֹסְפָה נַחֲלָתָן עַל נַחֲלַת הַמַּטֶּה אֲשֶׁר תִּהְיֶינָה לָהֶם וּמִנַּחֲלַת מַטֵּה אֲבֹתֵינוּ יִגָּרַע נַחֲלָתָן׃	V'im-yihyeh hayoveil livnei Yisroel, v'nosf'oh nachalosan al nachalas hamateh asher tihyenoh lohem; uminachalas mateh avoseinu yigora nachalosan.	And when the jubilee of the children of Israel comes, then their inheritance will be added to the inheritance of the tribe to which they shall belong; so their inheritance will be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.
36:5	וַיְצַו מֹשֶׁה אֶת־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עַל־פִּי יְהוָה לֵאמֹר כֵּן מַטֵּה בְנֵי־יוֹסֵף דֹּבְרִים׃	Vay'tzav Moshe es-b'nei Yisroel al-pi Adonoy leimor: kein mateh v'nei-Yosef dovrim.	And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the Eternal, saying: The tribe of the sons of Joseph speaks correctly.
36:6	זֶה הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּה יְהוָה לִבְנוֹת צְלָפְחָד לֵאמֹר לַטּוֹב בְּעֵינֵיהֶם תִּהְיֶינָה לְנָשִׁים אַךְ לְמִשְׁפַּחַת מַטֵּה אֲבִיהֶם תִּהְיֶינָה לְנָשִׁים׃	Zeh hadovor asher-tzivah Adonoy livnos Tz'lofchod leimor: latov b'eineihem tihyenoh l'noshim, ach l'mishpachas mateh avihem tihyenoh l'noshim.	This is the thing which the Eternal has commanded concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying: Let them marry whom they think best; only into the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry.
36:7	וְלֹא־תִסֹּב נַחֲלָה לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מִמַּטֶּה אֶל־מַטֶּה כִּי אִישׁ בְּנַחֲלַת מַטֵּה אֲבֹתָיו יִדְבְּקוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃	V'lo-tisov nachaloh livnei Yisroel mimateh el-mateh, ki ish b'nachalas mateh avosov yidbku b'nei Yisroel.	So no inheritance shall move about among the children of Israel from tribe to tribe; for the children of Israel shall each cling to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.
36:8	וְכָל־בַּת יֹרֶשֶׁת נַחֲלָה מִמַּטּוֹת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְאֶחָד מִמִּשְׁפַּחַת מַטֵּה אָבִיהָ תִּהְיֶה לְאִשָּׁה לְמַעַן יִירְשׁוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אִישׁ נַחֲלַת אֲבֹתָיו׃	V'chol-bas yoreshes nachaloh mimatos b'nei Yisroel, l'echod mimishpachas mateh oviho tihyeh l'ishoh; l'ma'an yirshu v'nei Yisroel ish nachalas avosov.	And every daughter who possesses an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel shall be wife to one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may each possess the inheritance of his fathers.
36:9	וְלֹא־תִסֹּב נַחֲלָה מִמַּטֶּה לְמַטֶּה אַחֵר כִּי־אִישׁ בְּנַחֲלָתוֹ יִדְבְּקוּ מַטּוֹת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃	V'lo-tisov nachaloh mimateh l'mateh acheir, ki-ish b'nachalaso yidbku matos b'nei Yisroel.	So shall no inheritance move about from one tribe to another tribe; for the tribes of the children of Israel shall each cling to his own inheritance.
36:10	כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה כֵּן עָשׂוּ בְּנוֹת צְלָפְחָד׃	Ka'asher tzivah Adonoy es-Moshe, kein osu b'nos Tz'lofchod.	Even as the Eternal commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad.
36:11	וַתִּהְיֶינָה מַחְלָה תִרְצָה וְחָגְלָה וּמִלְכָּה וְנֹעָה בְּנוֹת צְלָפְחָד לִבְנֵי דֹדֵיהֶן לְנָשִׁים׃	Vatihyenoh Machloh Tirtzoh v'Choglon uMilkoh v'No'oh b'nos Tz'lofchod, livnei dodeihen l'noshim.	For Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to their father's brothers' sons.
36:12	מִמִּשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי־מְנַשֶּׁה בֶן־יוֹסֵף הָיוּ לְנָשִׁים וַתְּהִי נַחֲלָתָן עַל־מַטֵּה מִשְׁפַּחַת אֲבִיהֶן׃	Mimishp'chos b'nei-M'nasheh ven-Yosef hoyu l'noshim, vat'hi nachalosan al-mateh mishpachas avihen.	They were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.
36:13	אֵלֶּה הַמִּצְוֺת וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִים אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁה אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּעַרְבֹת מוֹאָב עַל יַרְדֵּן יְרֵחוֹ׃	Eleh hamitzvos v'hamishpotim asher tzivah Adonoy b'yad-Moshe el-b'nei Yisroel, b'Arvos Mo'ov al Yarden Y'recho.	These are the commandments and the ordinances which the Eternal commanded by the hand of Moses to the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

36:11	וַתִּהְיֶינָה מַחְלָה תִרְצָה וְחָגְלָה וּמִלְכָּה וְנֹעָה בְּנוֹת צְלָפְחָד לִבְנֵי דֹדֵיהֶן לְנָשִׁים׃	Vatihyenoh Machloh Tirtzoh v'Choglon uMilkoh v'No'oh b'nos Tz'lofchod, livnei dodeihen l'noshim.	For Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married to their father's brothers' sons.
36:12	מִמִּשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי־מְנַשֶּׁה בֶן־יוֹסֵף הָיוּ לְנָשִׁים וַתְּהִי נַחֲלָתָן עַל־מַטֵּה מִשְׁפַּחַת אֲבִיהֶן׃	Mimishp'chos b'nei-M'nasheh ven-Yosef hoyu l'noshim, vat'hi nachalosan al-mateh mishpachas avihen.	They were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father.
36:13	אֵלֶּה הַמִּצְוֺת וְהַמִּשְׁפָּטִים אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהוָה בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁה אֶל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּעַרְבֹת מוֹאָב עַל יַרְדֵּן יְרֵחוֹ׃	Eleh hamitzvos v'hamishpotim asher tzivah Adonoy b'yad-Moshe el-b'nei Yisroel, b'Arvos Mo'ov al Yarden Y'recho.	These are the commandments and the ordinances which the Eternal commanded by the hand of Moses to the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

2:5	כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה מַה־מָּצְאוּ אֲבוֹתֵיכֶם בִּי עָוֶל כִּי רָחֲקוּ מֵעָלָי וַיֵּלְכוּ אַחֲרֵי הַהֶבֶל וַיֶּהְבָּלוּ׃	Koh omar Adonoy: mah-motz'u avoseichem bi ovel, ki rochaku mei'oloy, vayeilchu acharei hahevel vayehbolu?	Thus says the Eternal: What unrighteousness did your fathers find in Me, that they went far from Me, and walked after vanity, and became vain?
2:6	וְלֹא אָמְרוּ אַיֵּה יְהוָה הַמַּעֲלֶה אֹתָנוּ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם הַמּוֹלִיךְ אֹתָנוּ בַּמִּדְבָּר בְּאֶרֶץ עֲרָבָה וְשׁוּחָה בְּאֶרֶץ צִיָּה וְצַלְמָוֶת בְּאֶרֶץ לֹא־עָבַר בָּהּ אִישׁ וְלֹא־יָשַׁב אָדָם שָׁם׃	V'lo om'ru: ayeh Adonoy hama'aleh osonu mei'eretz Mitzrayim, hamolich osonu bamidbor, b'eretz aravoh v'shuchoh, b'eretz tziyoh v'tzalmoves, b'eretz lo-ovar boh ish v'lo-yoshav odom shom?	Neither did they say: Where is the Eternal, who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, who led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and pits, through a land of drought and the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?
2:7	וָאָבִיא אֶתְכֶם אֶל־אֶרֶץ הַכַּרְמֶל לֶאֱכֹל פִּרְיָהּ וְטוּבָהּ וַתָּבֹאוּ וַתְּטַמְּאוּ אֶת־אַרְצִי וְנַחֲלָתִי שַׂמְתֶּם לְתוֹעֵבָה׃	Vo'ovi eschem el-eretz hakarmel, le'echol piryoh v'tuvoh; vatovo'u vat'tam'u es-artzi, v'nachalosi samtem l'so'eivoh.	And I brought you into a plentiful land, to eat its fruit and its goodness; but when you entered, you defiled My land, and made My heritage an abomination.
2:8	הַכֹּהֲנִים לֹא אָמְרוּ אַיֵּה יְהוָה וְתֹפְשֵׂי הַתּוֹרָה לֹא יְדָעוּנִי וְהָרֹעִים פָּשְׁעוּ בִי וְהַנְּבִיאִים נִבְּאוּ בַבַּעַל וְאַחֲרֵי לֹא־יוֹעִלוּ הָלָכוּ׃	Hakohanim lo om'ru: ayeh Adonoy? V'sofsei hatoroh lo y'do'uni, v'haro'im posh'u vi, v'hanevi'im niv'u baba'al, v'acharei lo-yo'ilu holochu.	The priests did not say: Where is the Eternal? And those who handle the law did not know Me; the rulers also transgressed against Me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
2:9	לָכֵן עֹד אָרִיב אִתְּכֶם נְאֻם־יְהוָה וְאֶת־בְּנֵי בְנֵיכֶם אָרִיב׃	Lochein od oriv itchem, n'um-Adonoy, v'es-b'nei v'neichem oriv.	Therefore I will yet plead with you, says the Eternal, and with your children's children will I plead.
2:10	כִּי עִבְרוּ אִיֵּי כִתִּיִּים וּרְאוּ וְקֵדָר שִׁלְחוּ וְהִתְבּוֹנְנוּ מְאֹד וּרְאוּ הֵן הָיְתָה כָּזֹאת׃	Ki ivru iyei Kitiyim ur'u, v'Keidor shilchu v'hisbon'nu m'od, ur'u hein hoysoh kozos.	For pass over to the isles of the Kittim, and see; and send to Kedar, and consider diligently, and see whether there has been such a thing.
2:11	הַהֵימִיר גּוֹי אֱלֹהִים וְהֵמָּה לֹא אֱלֹהִים וְעַמִּי הֵמִיר כְּבוֹדוֹ בְּלוֹא יוֹעִיל׃	Hahei'imir goy elohim, v'heimoh lo elohim? V'ami heimir k'vodo b'lo yo'il.	Has a nation changed its gods, though they are no gods? But My people have changed their glory for that which does not profit.
2:12	שֹׁמּוּ שָׁמַיִם עַל־זֹאת וְשַׂעֲרוּ חָרְבוּ מְאֹד נְאֻם־יְהוָה׃	Shomu shomayim al-zos, v'sa'aru chorvu m'od, n'um-Adonoy.	Be astonished, O heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be very desolate, says the Eternal.
2:13	כִּי־שְׁתַּיִם רָעוֹת עָשָׂה עַמִּי אֹתִי עָזְבוּ מְקוֹר מַיִם חַיִּים לַחְצֹב לָהֶם בֹּארוֹת בֹּארֹת נִשְׁבָּרִים אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָכִלוּ הַמָּיִם׃	Ki-sh'tayim ro'os osoh ami: osi ozvu m'kor mayim chayim, lachtzov lohem bo'ros, bo'ros nishborim asher lo-yocholu hamoyim.	For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed themselves cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
2:14	הַעֶבֶד יִשְׂרָאֵל אִם־יְלִיד בַּיִת הוּא מַדּוּעַ הָיָה לָבַז׃	Ha'eved Yisroel? Im-yelid bayis hu? Madua hoyoh lovaz?	Is Israel a servant? Is he a home-born slave? Why has he become a prey?
2:15	עָלָיו יִשְׁאֲגוּ כְפִרִים נָתְנוּ קוֹלָם וַיָּשִׁיתוּ אַרְצוֹ לְשַׁמָּה עָרָיו נִצְּתוּ מִבְּלִי יֹשֵׁב׃	Olov yish'agu ch'firim, nos'nu kolom, vayoshisu artzo l'shamoh; orov nitz'su mib'li yosheiv.	The young lions have roared at him, and yelled; and they have made his land waste; his cities are burned, without inhabitant.
2:16	גַּם־בְּנֵי־נֹף וְתַחְפַּנְחֵס יִרְעוּךְ קָדְקֹד׃	Gam-b'nei-Nof v'Tachpanches yir'uch kodkod.	The children of Noph and Tahpanhes also have broken the crown of your head.
2:17	הֲלוֹא־זֹאת תַּעֲשֶׂה־לָּךְ עָזְבֵךְ אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהַיִךְ בְּעֵת מוֹלִיכֵךְ בַּדָּרֶךְ׃	Halo-zos ta'aseh-loch, ozveich es-Adonoy Elohayich, b'eis molicheich baderech?	Have you not brought this upon yourself, in that you have forsaken the Eternal your God, when He led you by the way?
2:18	וְעַתָּה מַה־לָּךְ לְדֶרֶךְ מִצְרַיִם לִשְׁתּוֹת מֵי שִׁחוֹר וּמַה־לָּךְ לְדֶרֶךְ אַשּׁוּר לִשְׁתּוֹת מֵי נָהָר׃	V'atoh mah-loch l'derech Mitzrayim, lishtos mei Shichor? Umah-loch l'derech Ashur, lishtos mei Nohor?	And now what have you to do with the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Shihor? Or what have you to do with the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the River?
2:19	תְּיַסְּרֵךְ רָעָתֵךְ וּמְשֻׁבוֹתַיִךְ תּוֹכִחֻךְ וּדְעִי וּרְאִי כִּי־רַע וָמָר עָזְבֵךְ אֶת־יְהוָה אֱלֹהָיִךְ וְלֹא פַחְדָּתִי אֵלַיִךְ נְאֻם־אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה צְבָאוֹת׃	T'yasreich ro'oseich, um'shuvosayich tochichuch; ud'i ur'i ki-ra vomor ozveich es-Adonoy Elohoyich, v'lo fachdosi eilayich, n'um-Adonoy Elohim Tz'vo'os.	Your own wickedness shall chastise you, and your backslidings shall reprove you; know therefore and see that it is an evil and a bitter thing, that you have forsaken the Eternal your God, and that My fear is not in you, says the Lord, the God of Hosts.
2:20	כִּי מֵעוֹלָם שָׁבַרְתִּי עֻלֵּךְ נִתַּקְתִּי מוֹסְרֹתַיִךְ וַתֹּאמְרִי לֹא אֶעֱבוֹר כִּי עַל־כָּל־גִּבְעָה גְּבֹהָה וְתַחַת כָּל־עֵץ רַעֲנָן אַתְּ צֹעָה זֹנָה׃	Ki mei'olom shovarti uleich, nitakti mosrosayich, vatomri lo e'evor; ki al-kol-giv'oh g'vohoh v'sachas kol-eitz ra'anon at tzo'oh zonoh.	For of old I have broken your yoke, and burst your bonds; and you said: I will not transgress; but on every high hill and under every leafy tree you sprawl, playing the harlot.
2:21	וְאָנֹכִי נְטַעְתִּיךְ שֹׂרֵק כֻּלֹּה זֶרַע אֱמֶת וְאֵיךְ נֶהְפַּכְתְּ לִי סוּרֵי הַגֶּפֶן נָכְרִיָּה׃	V'onochi n'ta'ticha soreik, kuloh zera emes; v'eich nehpachta li surei hagefen nochriyoh?	Yet I had planted you a noble vine, wholly a right seed; how then have you turned into the degenerate shoots of a strange vine to Me?
2:22	כִּי אִם־תְּכַבְּסִי בַּנֶּתֶר וְתַרְבִּי־לָךְ בֹּרִית נִכְתָּם עֲוֹנֵךְ לְפָנַי נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה׃	Ki im-t'chab'si banesser v'sarbi-loch boris, nichtom avoneich l'fonoy, n'um Adonoy Elohim.	For though you wash yourself with lye, and take much soap, yet your iniquity is marked before Me, says the Lord God.
2:23	אֵיךְ תֹּאמְרִי לֹא נִטְמֵאתִי אַחֲרֵי הַבְּעָלִים לֹא הָלַכְתִּי רְאִי דַרְכֵּךְ בַּגַּיְא דְּעִי מֶה עָשִׂית בִּכְרָה קַלָּה מְשָׂרֶכֶת דְּרָכֶיהָ׃	Eich tomri: lo nitmeisi, acharei hab'olim lo holochti? R'i darkeich bagoy, d'i meh osis; bichroh kaloh m'soreches d'rocheho.	How can you say: I am not defiled, I have not gone after the Baalim? See your way in the valley, know what you have done; you are a swift young camel traversing her ways;
2:24	פֶּרֶה לִמֻּד מִדְבָּר בְּאַוַּת נַפְשָׁהּ שָׁאֲפָה רוּחַ תַּאֲנָתָהּ מִי יְשִׁיבֶנָּה כָּל־מְבַקְשֶׁיהָ לֹא יִיעָפוּ בְּחָדְשָׁהּ יִמְצָאוּנְהָ׃	Pereh limud midbor, b'avas nafshoh sho'afoh ru'ach; ta'anosoh mi y'shivenoh? Kol-m'vaksheho lo yi'ofu; b'chodshoh yimtzo'unoh.	a wild donkey used to the wilderness, that snuffs up the wind in her desire; her lust, who can restrain it? All who seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.
2:25	מִנְעִי רַגְלֵךְ מִיָּחֵף וּגְרוֹנֵךְ מִצִּמְאָה וַתֹּאמְרִי נוֹאָשׁ לוֹא כִּי־אָהַבְתִּי זָרִים וְאַחֲרֵיהֶם אֵלֵךְ׃	Min'i raglech miyocheif, ug'roneich mitzim'oh; vatomri no'osh, lo, ki-ohavti zorim v'achareihem eileich.	Withhold your foot from being unshod, and your throat from thirst; but you said: There is no hope; no, for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.
2:26	כְּבֹשֶׁת גַּנָּב כִּי יִמָּצֵא כֵּן הֹבִישׁוּ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל הֵמָּה מַלְכֵיהֶם שָׂרֵיהֶם וְכֹהֲנֵיהֶם וּנְבִיאֵיהֶם׃	K'voshes ganov ki yimotzei, kein hovishu beis Yisroel, heimoh malcheihem sorei'hem v'chohaneihem uneviei'hem.	As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed: they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets;
2:27	אֹמְרִים לָעֵץ אָבִי אַתָּה וְלָאֶבֶן אַתְּ יְלִדְתָּנוּ כִּי־פָנוּ אֵלַי עֹרֶף וְלֹא פָנִים וּבְעֵת רָעָתָם יֹאמְרוּ קוּמָה וְהוֹשִׁיעֵנוּ׃	Om'rim lo'eitz ovi ato, v'lo'even at y'lidtonu; ki-fonu eilay oref v'lo fonim, uv'eis rososom yomru: kumoh v'hoshi'einu.	who say to a stock: You are my father, and to a stone: You have brought me forth; for they have turned their back to Me, and not their face; but in the time of their trouble they will say: Arise, and save us.
2:28	וְאַיֵּה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתָ לָּךְ יָקוּמוּ אִם־יוֹשִׁיעוּךָ בְּעֵת רָעָתֶךָ כִּי מִסְפַּר עָרֶיךָ הָיוּ אֱלֹהֶיךָ יְהוּדָה׃	V'ayeh eloheicho asher osiso loch? Yokumu im-yoshi'ucho b'eis rosecho; ki mispor orecho hoyu eloheicho Y'hudoh.	But where are your gods that you have made for yourself? Let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble; for according to the number of your cities are your gods, O Judah.
3:4	הֲלוֹא מֵעַתָּה קָרָאת לִי אָבִי אַלּוּף נְעֻרַי אָתָּה׃	Halo mei'atoh koras li: ovi, aluf n'uroy atoh?	Will you not from this time cry to Me: My Father, You are the friend of my youth?
