1וַיֹּאמֶר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה בֹּא אֶל־פַּרְעֹה כִּי־אֲנִי הִכְבַּדְתִּי אֶת־לִבּוֹ וְאֶת־לֵב עֲבָדָיו לְמַעַן שִׁתִי אֹתֹתַי אֵלֶּה בְּקִרְבּוֹ׃Vayyómér The Eternal el-Moshé bo el-Par'ó ki-aní hikbádtí et-libbó ve'et-lev avadáv lemá'an shití ototáy élleh bekirbó.And The Eternal said unto Moses: 'Go in unto Pharaoh; for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might show these My signs in the midst of them;
2וּלְמַעַן תְּסַפֵּר בְּאָזְנֵי בִנְךָ וּבֶן־בִּנְךָ אֵת אֲשֶׁר הִתְעַלַּלְתִּי בְּמִצְרַיִם וְאֶת־אֹתֹתַי אֲשֶׁר־שַׂמְתִּי בָם וִידַעְתֶּם כִּי־אֲנִי יְהֹוָה׃Ulemá'an tesappér be'ozné vinjá uven-binjá et ashér hit'allálti beMitsráyim ve'et-ototáy ashér-shámti vam vida'tém ki-aní The Eternal.and that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what things I have wrought upon Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them; that ye may know that I am The Eternal.'
3וַיָּבֹא מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן אֶל־פַּרְעֹה וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו כֹּה־אָמַר יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵי הָעִבְרִים עַד־מָתַי מֵאַנְתָּ לֵעָנֹת מִפָּנָי שַׁלַּח עַמִּי וְיַעַבְדֻנִי׃Vayyavó Moshé ve'Aharón el-Par'ó vayyomerú eláv koh-amár The Eternal Elohé ha'Ivrim ad-matáy me'ánta le'anót mippanáy shalláj ammí veya'avdúni.And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him: 'Thus saith The Eternal, the Elohim of the Hebrews: How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before Me? let My people go, that they may serve Me.
4כִּי אִם־מָאֵן אַתָּה לְשַׁלֵּחַ אֶת־עַמִּי הִנְנִי מֵבִיא מָחָר אַרְבֶּה בִּגְבֻלֶךָ׃Ki im-maén attáh leshalléaj et-ammí hinení meví majár arbéh bigvuléja.Else, if thou refuse to let My people go, behold, tomorrow will I bring locusts into thy border;
5וְכִסָּה אֶת־עֵין הָאָרֶץ וְלֹא יוּכַל לִרְאֹת אֶת־הָאָרֶץ וְאָכַל אֶת־יֶתֶר הַפְּלֵטָה הַנִּשְׁאֶרֶת לָכֶם מִן־הַבָּרָד וְאָכַל אֶת־כָּל־הָעֵץ הַצֹּמֵחַ לָכֶם מִן־הַשָּׂדֶה׃Vejissáh et-en ha'árets veló yujál lir'ót et-ha'árets ve'ajál et-yéter happeletáh hannish'éret lajém min-habbarád ve'ajál et-kol-ha'éts hattsoméaj lajém min-hassadéh.and they shall cover the face of the earth, that one shall not be able to see the earth; and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field;
6וּמָלְאוּ בָתֶּיךָ וּבָתֵּי כָל־עֲבָדֶיךָ וּבָתֵּי כָל־מִצְרַיִם אֲשֶׁר לֹא־רָאוּ אֲבֹתֶיךָ וַאֲבוֹת אֲבֹתֶיךָ מִיּוֹם הֱיוֹתָם עַל־הָאֲדָמָה עַד הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה וַיִּפֶן וַיֵּצֵא מֵעִם פַּרְעֹה׃Umaleú vattéja uvatté jol-avadéja uvatté jol-Mitsráyim ashér lo-raú avotéja va'avót avotéja miyyóm heyotám al-ha'adamáh ad hayyóm hazzéh vayyífen vayyetsé me'ím Par'ó.and thy houses shall be filled, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; as neither thy fathers nor thy fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day.' And he turned, and went out from Pharaoh.
7וַיֹּאמְרוּ עַבְדֵי פַּרְעֹה אֵלָיו עַד־מָתַי יִהְיֶה זֶה לָנוּ לְמוֹקֵשׁ שַׁלַּח אֶת־הָאֲנָשִׁים וְיַעַבְדוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיהֶם הֲטֶרֶם תֵּדַע כִּי אָבְדָה מִצְרָיִם׃Vayyomerú avdé Par'ó eláv ad-matáy yihyéh zeh lánu lemokésh shalláj et-ha'anashím veya'avdú et The Eternal Eloheihém hatérem tēda' ki avedáh Mitsráyim.And Pharaoh's servants said unto him: 'How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve The Eternal their Elohim; knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?'
8וַיּוּשַׁב אֶת־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶת־אַהֲרֹן אֶל־פַּרְעֹה וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם לְכוּ עִבְדוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם מִי וָמִי הַהֹלְכִים׃Vayyusháv et-Moshé ve'et-Aharón el-Par'ó vayyómér aleihém lejú ivdú et The Eternal Eloheijém mi vamí haholjím.And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh; and he said unto them: 'Go, serve The Eternal your Elohim; but who are they that shall go?'
9וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה בִּנְעָרֵינוּ וּבִזְקֵנֵינוּ נֵלֵךְ בְּבָנֵינוּ וּבִבְנוֹתֵנוּ בְּצֹאנֵנוּ וּבִבְקָרֵנוּ נֵלֵךְ כִּי חַג־יְהֹוָה לָנוּ׃Vayyómér Moshé bin'arénu uvizkenénu neléj bevanénu uvivnoténu betsonénu uvivkarénu neléj ki jag-The Eternal lánu.And Moses said: 'We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we must hold a feast unto The Eternal.'
10וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם יְהִי כֵן יְהֹוָה עִמָּכֶם כַּאֲשֶׁר אֲשַׁלַּח אֶתְכֶם וְאֶת־טַפְּכֶם רְאוּ כִּי רָעָה נֶגֶד פְּנֵיכֶם׃Vayyómér aleihém yehí jen The Eternal immajém ka'ashér ashalláj etjém ve'et-tappejém reú ki ra'áh négued peneijém.And he said unto them: 'So be The Eternal with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones; look to it, for evil is before you.
11לֹא כֵן לְכוּ־נָא הַגְּבָרִים וְעִבְדוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָה כִּי אֹתָהּ אַתֶּם מְבַקְשִׁים וַיְגָרֶשׁ אֹתָם מֵאֵת פְּנֵי פַרְעֹה׃Lo jen lejú-na haggevarím ve'ivdú et The Eternal ki otáh attém mevakshím vayyugáresh otám me'ét pené Far'ó.Not so; go now ye that are men, and serve The Eternal; for that is what ye desire.' And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.

12וַיֹּאמֶר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה נְטֵה יָדְךָ עַל־אֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם בָּאַרְבֶּה וְיַעַל עַל־אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם וְיֹאכַל אֶת־כָּל־עֵשֶׂב הָאָרֶץ אֵת כָּל־אֲשֶׁר הִשְׁאִיר הַבָּרָד׃Vayyómér The Eternal el-Moshé netéh yadejá al-érets Mitsráyim ba'arbéh veyá'al al-érets Mitsráyim veyojál et-kol-ésev ha'árets et kol-ashér hish'ír habbarád.And The Eternal said unto Moses: 'Stretch out thy hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.'
13וַיֵּט מֹשֶׁה אֶת־מַטֵּהוּ עַל־אֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם וַיהֹוָה נִהַג רוּחַ קָדִים בָּאָרֶץ כָּל־הַיּוֹם הַהוּא וְכָל־הַלָּיְלָה הַבֹּקֶר הָיָה וְרוּחַ הַקָּדִים נָשָׂא אֶת־הָאַרְבֶּה׃Vayyét Moshé et-mattéhu al-érets Mitsráyim v'The Eternal nihág rúaj kadím ba'árets kol-hayyóm hahú vejol-halláylah habbóker hayáh verúaj hakkadím nasá et-ha'arbéh.And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and The Eternal brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all the night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
14וַיַּעַל הָאַרְבֶּה עַל כָּל־אֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם וַיָּנַח בְּכֹל גְּבוּל מִצְרָיִם כָּבֵד מְאֹד לְפָנָיו לֹא־הָיָה כֵן אַרְבֶּה כָּמֹהוּ וְאַחֲרָיו לֹא יִהְיֶה־כֵּן׃Vayyá'al ha'arbéh al kol-érets Mitsráyim vayyanáj bejól guevúl Mitsráyim kavéd me'ód lefanáv lo-hayáh jen arbéh kamóhu ve'ajaráv lo yihyéh-jen.And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the borders of Egypt; very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
15וַיְכַס אֶת־עֵין כָּל־הָאָרֶץ וַתֶּחְשַׁךְ הָאָרֶץ וַיֹּאכַל אֶת־כָּל־עֵשֶׂב הָאָרץ וְאֵת כָּל־פְּרִי הָעֵץ אֲשֶׁר הִשְׁאִיר הַבָּרָד וְלֹא־נוֹתַר כָּל־יָרָק בָּעֵץ וּבְעֵשֶׂב הַשָּׂדֶה בְּכָל־אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם׃Vayjás et-en kol-ha'árets vattéjshen ha'árets vayyojál et-kol-ésev ha'árets ve'et kol-perí ha'éts ashér hish'ír habbarád veló-notár kol-yarák ba'éts uv'ésev hassadéh bejól-érets Mitsráyim.For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left; and there remained not any green thing, either in the trees or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
16וַיְמַהֵר פַּרְעֹה לִקְרֹא לְמֹשֶׁה וּלְאַהֲרֹן וַיֹּאמֶר חָטָאתִי לַיהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם וְלָכֶם׃Vaymahér Par'ó likró le-Moshé ule-Aharón vayyómér jatáti l'The Eternal Eloheijém velajém.Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said: 'I have sinned against The Eternal your Elohim, and against you.
17וְעַתָּה שָׂא נָא חַטָּאתִי אַךְ הַפַּעַם וְהַעְתִּירוּ לַיהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם וְיָסֵר מֵעָלַי רַק אֶת־הַמָּוֶת הַזֶּה׃Ve'attáh sa na jattatí aj happá'am veha'tíru l'The Eternal Eloheijém veyasér me'aláy rak et-hammávet hazzéh.Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and entreat The Eternal your Elohim, that He may take away from me this death only.'
18וַיֵּצֵא מֵעִם פַּרְעֹה וַיֶּעְתַּר אֶל־יְהֹוָה׃Vayyetsé me'ím Par'ó vayye'tár el-The Eternal.And he went out from Pharaoh, and entreated The Eternal.
19וַיַּהֲפֹךְ יְהֹוָה רוּחַ־יָם חָזָק מְאֹד וַיִּשָּׂא אֶת־הָאַרְבֶּה וַיִּתְקָעֵהוּ יַמָּה סּוּף לֹא נִשְׁאַר אַרְבֶּה אֶחָד בְּכֹל גְּבוּל מִצְרָיִם׃Vayyahafój The Eternal rúaj-yam jazák me'ód vayyissá et-ha'arbéh vayyitka'éhu Yámmah Suf lo nish'ár arbéh ejád bejól guevúl Mitsráyim.And The Eternal turned an exceeding strong west wind, which took left the locusts, and drove them into the Red Sea; there remained not one locust in all the border of Egypt.
20וַיְחַזֵּק יְהֹוָה אֶת־לֵב פַּרְעֹה וְלֹא שִׁלַּח אֶת־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃Vayjazzék The Eternal et-lev Par'ó veló shilláj et-bené Yisraél.But The Eternal hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go.
21וַיֹּאמֶר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה נְטֵה יָדְךָ עַל־הַשָּׁמַיִם וִיהִי חֹשֶׁךְ עַל־אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם וְיָמֵשׁ חֹשֶׁךְ׃Vayyómér The Eternal el-Moshé netéh yadejá al-hashamáyim vihí jóshej al-érets Mitsráyim veyamésh jóshej.And The Eternal said unto Moses: 'Stretch out thy hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.'
22וַיֵּט מֹשֶׁה אֶת־יָדוֹ עַל־הַשָּׁמָיִם וַיְהִי חֹשֶׁךְ־אֲפֵלָה בְּכָל־אֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים׃Vayyét Moshé et-yadó al-hashamáyim vayyihí jóshej-afeláh bejól-érets Mitsráyim shelóshet yamím.And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days;
23לֹא־רָאוּ אִישׁ אֶת־אָחִיו וְלֹא־קָמוּ אִישׁ מִתַּחְתָּיו שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים וּלְכָל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הָיָה אוֹר בְּמוֹשְׁבֹתָם׃Lo-raú ish et-ajív veló-kamú ish mittajtáv shelóshet yamím ulejól-bené Yisraél hayáh or be-moshevotám.they saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

24וַיִּקְרָא פַרְעֹה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וַיֹּאמֶר לְכוּ עִבְדוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָה רַק צֹאנְכֶם וּבְקַרְכֶם יֻצָּג גַּם־טַפְּכֶם יֵלֵךְ עִמָּכֶם׃Vayyikrá Par'ó el-Moshé vayyómér lejú ivdú et The Eternal rak tsonjém uvekarjém yuttság gam-tappejém yeléj immajém.And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said: 'Go ye, serve The Eternal; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed; let your little ones also go with you.'
25וַיֹּאמֶer מֹשֶׁה גַּם־אַתָּה תִּתֵּן בְּיָדֵנוּ זְבָחִים וְעֹלֹת וְעָשִׂינוּ לַיהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ׃Vayyómér Moshé gam-attáh tittén beyadénu zevajím ve'olot ve'asínu l'The Eternal Elohéinu.And Moses said: 'Thou must also give into our hand sacrifices and burnt-offerings, that we may sacrifice unto The Eternal our Elohim.
26וְגַם־מִקְנֵנוּ יֵלֵךְ עִמָּנוּ לֹא תִשָּׁאֵר פַּרְסָה כִּי מִמֶּנּוּ נִקַּח לַעֲבֹד אֶת־יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ וַאֲנַחְנוּ לֹא־נֵדַע מַה־נַּעֲבֹד אֶת־יְהֹוָה עַד־בֹּאֵנוּ שָׁמָּה׃Vegam-miknénu yeléj immánu lo tishshaér parsáh ki mimménnu nikkáj la'avód et The Eternal Elohéinu va'anájnu lo-nedá' mah-na'avód et The Eternal ad-boénu shámmah.Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not a hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve The Eternal our Elohim; and we know not with what we must serve The Eternal, until we come thither.'
27וַיְחַזֵּק יְהֹוָה אֶת־לֵב פַּרְעֹה וְלֹא אָבָה לְשַׁלְּחָם׃Vayjazzék The Eternal et-lev Par'ó veló aváh leshallejám.But The Eternal hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.
28וַיֹּאמֶר־לוֹ פַרְעֹה לֵךְ מֵעָלָי הִשָּׁמֶר לְךָ אַל־תֹּסֶף רְאוֹת פָּנַי כִּי בְּיוֹם רְאֹתְךָ פָנַי תָּמוּת׃Vayyómér-lo Far'ó lej me'aláy hisshámér lejá al-tósef re'ót panáy ki beyóm re'otjá fanáy tamút.And Pharaoh said unto him: 'Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in the day thou seest my face thou shalt die.'
29וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה כֵּן דִּבַּרְתָּ לֹא־אֹסִף עוֹד רְאוֹת פָּנֶיךָ׃Vayyómér Moshé ken dibbárta lo-osíf od re'ót panéja.And Moses said: 'Thou hast spoken well; I will see thy face no more.'
1וַיֹּאמֶר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה עוֹד נֶגַע אֶחָד אָבִיא עַל־פַּרְעֹה וְעַל־מִצְרַיִם אַחֲרֵי־כֵן יְשַׁלַּח אֶתְכֶם מִזֶּה כְּשַׁלְּחוֹ כָּלָה גָּרֵשׁ יְגָרֵשׁ אֹתְכֶם מִזֶּה׃Vayyómér The Eternal el-Moshé od néga ejád aví al-Par'ó ve'al-Mitsráyim ajáré-jen yeshalláj etjém mizzé keshallejó kaláh garésh yegarésh etjém mizzé.And The Eternal said unto Moses: 'Yet one plague more will I bring upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence; when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.
2דַּבֶּר־נָא בְּאָזְנֵי הָעָם וְיִשְׁאֲלוּ אִישׁ מֵאֵת רֵעֵהוּ וְאִשָּׁה מֵאֵת רְעוּתָהּ כְּלֵי־כֶסֶף וּכְלֵי זָהָב׃Dabbér-na be'ozné ha'ám veyish'alú ish me'ét re'éhu ve'ishsháh me'ét re'utáh kelé-jésef ujelé zaháv.Speak now in the ears of the people, and let them ask every man of his neighbour, and every woman of her neighbour, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold.'
3וַיִּתֵּן יְהֹוָה אֶת־חֵן הָעָם בְּעֵינֵי מִצְרָיִם גַּם הָאִישׁ מֹשֶׁה גָּדוֹל מְאֹד בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם בְּעֵינֵי עַבְדֵי־פַרְעֹה וּבְעֵינֵי הָעָם׃Vayyittén The Eternal et-jen ha'ám be'ené Mitsráyim gam ha'ísh Moshé gadól me'ód be'érets Mitsráyim be'ené avdé-Far'ó uv'ené ha'ám.And The Eternal gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people.

4וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה כֹּה אָמַר יְהֹוָה כַּחֲצֹת הַלַּיְלָה אֲנִי יוֹצֵא בְּתוֹךְ מִצְרָיִם׃Vayyómér Moshé koh amár The Eternal jajatsót halláylah aní yotsé betój Mitsráyim.And Moses said: 'Thus saith The Eternal: About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt;
5וּמֵת כָּל־בְּכוֹר בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם מִבְּכוֹר פַּרְעֹה הַיֹּשֵׁב עַל־כִּסְאוֹ עַד בְּכוֹר הַשִּׁפְחָה אֲשֶׁר אַחַר הָרֵחָיִם וְכֹל בְּכוֹר בְּהֵמָה׃Umét kol-bejor be'érets Mitsráyim mibbejor Par'ó hayyoshév al-kissó ad bejór hashshifjáh ashér ajár haréjayim vejol bejór behemáh.and all the first-born in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first-born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the first-born of the maid-servant that is behind the mill; and all the first-born of beasts.
6וְהָיְתָה צְעָקָה גְדֹלָה בְּכָל־אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם אֲשֶׁר כָּמֹהוּ לֹא נִהְיָתָה וְכָמֹהוּ לֹא תֹסִף׃Vehayetáh tse'akáh guedoláh bejól-érets Mitsráyim ashér kamóhu lo nihyatáh vejamóhu lo tosíf.And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there hath been none like it, nor shall be like it any more.
7וּלְכֹל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא יֶחֱרַץ־כֶּלֶב לְשֹׁנוֹ לְמֵאִישׁ וְעַד־בְּהֵמָה לְמַעַן תֵּדְעוּן אֲשֶׁר יַפְלֶה יְהֹוָה בֵּין מִצְרַיִם וּבֵין יִשְׂרָאֵל׃Ulejól bené Yisraél lo yejerats-kélev leshonó leme'ísh ve'ad-behemáh lemá'an tede'ún ashér yafléh The Eternal ben Mitsráyim uvén Yisraél.But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog whet his tongue, against man or beast; that ye may know how that The Eternal doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
8וְיָרְדוּ כָל־עֲבָדֶיךָ אֵלֶּה אֵלַי וְהִשְׁתַּחֲווּ־לִי לֵאמֹר צֵא אַתָּה וְכָל־הָעָם אֲשֶׁר־בְּרַגְלֶיךָ וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵן אֵצֵא וַיֵּצֵא מֵעִם־פַּרְעֹה בָּחֳרִי־אָף׃Vayeredú jol-avadéja élleh eláy vehishtajavú-li lemór tse attáh vejol-ha'ám ashér-beragléja ve'ajáré-jen etsé vayyetsé me'ím-Par'ó bojorí-af.And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down themselves unto me, saying: Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee; and after that I will go out.' And he went out from Pharaoh in hot anger.
9וַיֹּאמֶר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה לֹא־יִשְׁמַע אֲלֵיכֶם פַּרְעֹה לְמַעַן רְבוֹת מוֹפְתַי בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם׃Vayyómér The Eternal el-Moshé lo-yishmá aleijém Par'ó lemá'an revót mofetáy be'érets Mitsráyim.And The Eternal said unto Moses: 'Pharaoh will not hearken unto you; that My wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.'
10וּמֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן עָשׂוּ אֶת־כָּל־הַמֹּפְתִים הָאֵלֶּה לִפְנֵי פַרְעֹה וַיְחַזֵּק יְהֹוָה אֶת־לֵב פַּרְעֹה וְלֹא־שִׁלַּח אֶת־בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאַרְצוֹ׃UMoshé ve'Aharón asú et-kol-hammofetím ha'élleh lifné Far'ó vayjazzék The Eternal et-lev Par'ó veló-shilláj et-bené-Yisraél me'artsó.And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh; and The Eternal hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go out of his land.
1וַיֹּאמֶר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל־אַהֲרֹן בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם לֵאמֹר׃Vayyómér The Eternal el-Moshé ve'el-Aharón be'érets Mitsráyim lemór.And The Eternal spoke unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying:
2הַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה לָכֶם רֹאשׁ חֳדָשִׁים רִאשׁוֹן הוּא לָכֶם לְחָדְשֵׁי הַשָּׁנָה׃Hajódesh hazzéh lajém rosh jodashím rishón hu lajém lejorshé hashshanáh.'This month shall be unto you the beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.
3דַּבְּרוּ אֶל־כָּל־עֲדַת יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר בֶּעָשֹׂר לַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה וְיִקְחוּ לָהֶם אִישׁ שֶׂה לְבֵית־אָבֹת שֶׂה לַבָּיִת׃Dabberú el-kol-adat Yisraél lemór be'asór lajódesh hazzéh veyikjú lahém ish seh levét-avót seh labbáyit.Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying: In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to their fathers' houses, a lamb for a household;
4וְאִם־יִמְעַט הַבַּיִת מִהְיוֹת מִשֶּׂה וְלָקַח הוּא וּשְׁכֵנוֹ הַקָּרֹב אֶל־בֵּיתוֹ בְּמִכְסַת נְפָשֹׁת אִישׁ לְפִי אָכְלוֹ תָּכֹסּוּ עַל־הַשֶּׂה׃Ve'im-yim'át habbáyit mihyót misséh velakáj hu ushjenó hakkaróv el-betó bemijsát nefashót ish lefi ojlo tajóssu al-hasséh.and if the household be too little for a lamb, then shall he and his neighbour next unto his house take one according to the number of the souls; according to every man's eating ye shall make your count for the lamb.
5שֶׂה תָמִים זָכָר בֶּן־שָׁנָה יִהְיֶה לָכֶם מִן־הַכְּבָשִׂים וּמִן־הָעִזִּים תִּקָּחוּ׃Seh tamím zajár ben-shanáh yihyéh lajém min-hakkevasím umín-ha'izzím tikkájū.Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year; ye shall take it from the sheep, or from the goats;
6וְהָיָה לָכֶם לְמִשְׁמֶרֶת עַד אַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר יוֹם לַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה וְשָׁחֲטוּ אֹתוֹ כֹּל קְהַל עֲדַת־יִשְׂרָאֵל בֵּין הָעַרְבָּיִם׃Vehayáh lajém lemishméret ad arbā'áh asár yom lajódesh hazzéh veshajatú otó kol kehál adat-Yisraél ben ha'arbáyim.and ye shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month; and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at dusk.
7וְלָקְחוּ מִן־הַדָּם וְנָתְנוּ עַל־שְׁתֵּי הַמְּזוּזֹת וְעַל־הַמַּשְׁקוֹף עַל הַבָּתִּים אֲשֶׁר־יֹאכְלוּ אֹתוֹ בָּהֶם׃Velakjú min-haddám venatenú al-sheté hammezuzót ve'al-hammashkóf al habbattím ashér-yojelú otó bahém.And they shall take of the blood, and put it on the two side-posts and on the lintel, upon the houses wherein they shall eat it.
8וְאָכְלוּ אֶת־הַבָּשָׂר בַּלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה צְלִי־אֵשׁ וּמַצּוֹת עַל־מְרֹרִים יֹאכְלֻהוּ׃Ve'ajelú et-habbasár balláylah hazzéh tseli-esh umatsót al-merorím yojelúhu.And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; with bitter herbs they shall eat it.
9אַל־תֹּאכְלוּ מִמֶּנּוּ נָא וּבָשֵׁל מְבֻשָּׁל בַּמָּיִם כִּי אִם־צְלִי־אֵשׁ רֹאשׁוֹ עַל־כְּרָעָיו וְעַל־קִרְבּוֹ׃Al-tojelú mimménnu na uvashél mevushshál bammáyim ki im-tseli-esh roshó al-kerā'áv ve'al-kirbó.Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; its head with its legs and with the inwards thereof.
10וְלֹא־תוֹתִירוּ מִמֶּנּוּ עַד־בֹּקֶר וְהַנֹּתָר מִמֶּנּוּ עַד־בֹּקֶר בָּאֵשׁ תִּשְׂרֹפוּ׃Veló-totíru mimménnu ad-bóker vehannotár mimménnu ad-bóker ba'ésh tisrófu.And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; but that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
11וְכָכָה תֹּאכְלוּ אֹתוֹ מָתְנֵיכֶם חֲגֻרִים נַעֲלֵיכֶם בְּרַגְלֵיכֶם וּמַקֶּלְכֶם בְּיֶדְכֶם וַאֲכַלְתֶּם אֹתוֹ בְּחִפָּזוֹן פֶּסַח הוּא לַיהֹוָה׃Vejájáh tojelú otó motneijém jagurím na'aleijém beragleijém umakkeljém beyedjém va'ajaltém otó bejippazón Pésaj hu l'The Eternal.And thus shall ye eat it: with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Pésaj of The Eternal.
12וְעָבַרְתִּי בְאֶרֶץ־מִצְרַיִם בַּלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה וְהִכֵּיתִי כָל־בְּכוֹר בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם מֵאָדָם וְעַד־בְּהֵמָה וּבְכָל־אֱלֹהֵי מִצְרַיִם אֶעֱשֶׂה שְׁפָטִים אֲנִי יְהֹוָה׃Ve'avartí be'érets-Mitsráyim balláylah hazzéh vehikkéti jol-bejór be'érets Mitsráyim me'adám ve'ad-behemáh uvejól-elohé Mitsráyim e'eséh shefatím aní The Eternal.For I will go through the land of Egypt in that night, and will smite all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am The Eternal.
13וְהָיָה הַדָּם לָכֶם לְאֹת עַל הַבָּתִּים אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם שָׁם וְרָאִיתִי אֶת־הַדָּם וּפָסַחְתִּי עֲלֵכֶם וְלֹא־יִהְיֶה בָכֶם נֶגֶף לְמַשְׁחִית בְּהַכֹּתִי בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם׃Vehayáh haddám lajém le'ót al habbattím ashér attém sham vera'íti et-haddám upasajtí aleijém veló-yihyéh vajém néguef lemashjít behakkotí be'érets Mitsráyim.And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and there shall no plague be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
14וְהָיָה הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה לָכֶם לְזִכָּרוֹן וְחַגֹּתֶם אֹתוֹ חַג לַיהֹוָה לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם חֻקַּת עוֹלָם תְּחָגֻּהוּ׃Vehayáh hayyóm hazzéh lajém lezikkarón vejaggotém otó jag l'The Eternal ledoroteijém jukkát olám tejaggúhu.And this day shall be unto you for a memorial, and ye shall keep it a feast to The Eternal; throughout your generations ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
15שִׁבְעַת יָמִים מַצּוֹת תֹּאכֵלוּ אַךְ בַּיּוֹם הָרִאשׁוֹן תַּשְׁבִּיתוּ שְּׂאֹר מִבָּתֵּיכֶם כִּי כָּל־אֹכֵל חָמֵץ וְנִכְרְתָה הַנֶּפֶשׁ הַהִוא מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל מִיּוֹם הָרִאשֹׁן עַד־יוֹם הַשְּׁבִעִי׃Shiv'át yamím matsót tojelú aj bayyóm harishón tashbítu se'ór mibbatteijém ki kol-ojél jaméts venijretáh hannéfesh hahí mi-Yisraél miyyóm harishón ad-yom hashshevi'í.Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; howbeit the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses; for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.
16וּבַיּוֹם הָרִאשׁוֹן מִקְרָא־קֹדֶשׁ וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי מִקְרָא־קֹדֶשׁ יִהְיֶה לָכֶם כָּל־מְלָאכָה לֹא־יֵעָשֶׂה בָהֶם אַךְ אֲשֶׁר יֵאָכֵל לְכָל־נֶפֶשׁ הוּא לְבַדּוֹ יֵעָשֶׂה לָכֶם׃Uvayyóm harishón mikrá-kódesh uvayyóm hashshevi'í mikrá-kódesh yihyéh lajém kol-melajáh lo-ye'aséh vahém aj ashér ye'ajél lejol-néfesh hu levaddó ye'aséh lajém.And in the first day there shall be to you a holy convocation, and in the seventh day a holy convocation; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done by you.
17וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם אֶת־הַמַּצּוֹת כִּי בְּעֶצֶם הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה הוֹצֵאתִי אֶת־צִבְאוֹתֵיכֶם מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם אֶת־הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה לְדֹרֹתֵיכֶם חֻקַּת עוֹלָם׃Ushemartém et-hammatsót ki be'étsem hayyóm hazzéh hotséti et-tsiv'oteijém me'érets Mitsráyim ushemartém et-hayyóm hazzéh ledoroteijém jukkát olám.And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt; therefore shall ye observe this day throughout your generations by an ordinance for ever.
18בָּרִאשֹׁן בְּאַרְבָּעָה עָשָׂר יוֹם לַחֹדֶשׁ בָּעֶרֶב תֹּאכְלוּ מַצֹּת עַד יוֹם הָאֶחָד וְעֶשְׂרִים לַחֹדֶשׁ בָּעָרֶב׃Barrishón be'arba'áh asár yom lajódesh ba'érev tojelú matsót ad yom ha'ejád ve'esrím lajódesh ba'árev.In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until the one and twentieth day of the month at even.
19שִׁבְעַת יָמִים שְׂאֹר לֹא יִמָּצֵא בְּבָתֵּיכֶם כִּי כָּל־אֹכֵל מַחְמֶצֶת וְנִכְרְתָה הַנֶּפֶשׁ הַהִוא מֵעֲדַת יִשְׂרָאֵל בַּגֵּר וּבְאֶזְרַח הָאָרֶץ׃Shiv'át yamím se'ór lo yimmatsé bevatteijém ki kol-ojél majmétsen venijretáh hannéfesh hahí me'adát Yisraél baguér uv'ezráj ha'árets.Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses; for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a sojourner, or one that is born in the land.
20כָּל־מַחְמֶצֶת לֹא תֹאכֵלוּ בְּכֹל מוֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶם תֹּאכְלוּ מַצּוֹת׃Kol-majmétsen lo tojelú bejól moshevoteijém tojelú matsót.Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread.'

21וַיִּקְרָא מֹשֶׁה לְכָל־זִקְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵהֶם מִשְׁכוּ וּקְחוּ לָכֶם צֹאן לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתֵיכֶם וְשַׁחֲטוּ הַפָּסַח׃Vayyikrá Moshé lejol-zikné Yisraél vayyómér aleijém mishjú ukjú lajém tson lemishpejoteijém veshajatú happásaj.Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them: 'Draw out, and take you lambs according to your families, and kill the passover lamb.
22וּלְקַחְתֶּם אֲגֻדַּת אֵזוֹב וּטְבַלְתֶּם בַּדָּם אֲשֶׁר־בַּסַּף וְהִגַּעְתֶּם אֶל־הַמַּשְׁקוֹף וְאֶל־שְׁתֵּי הַמְּזוּזֹת מִן־הַדָּם אֲשֶׁר בַּסָּף וְאַתֶּם לֹא תֵצְאוּ אִישׁ מִפֶּתַח־בֵּיתוֹ עַד־בֹּקֶר׃Ulekajtém aguddát ezóv utevaltém baddám ashér-bassáf vehiga'tém el-hammashkóf ve'el-sheté hammezuzót min-haddám ashér bassáf ve'attém lo tets'ú ish mippetaj-betó ad-bóker.And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side-posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning.
23וְעָבַר יְהֹוָה לִנְגֹּף אֶת־מִצְרַיִם וְרָאָה אֶת־הַדָּם עַל־הַמַּשְׁקוֹף וְעַל שְׁתֵּי הַמְּזוּזֹת וּפָסַח יְהֹוָה עַל־הַפֶּתַח וְלֹא יִתֵּן הַמַּשְׁחִית לָבֹא אֶל־בָּתֵּיכֶם לִנְגֹּף׃Ve'avár The Eternal lingóf et-Mitsráyim vera'áh et-haddám al-hammashkóf ve'al sheté hammezuzót upasáj The Eternal al-happétaj veló yittén hammashjít lavó el-batteijém lingóf.For The Eternal will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side-posts, The Eternal will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
24וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם אֶת־הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה לְחָק־לְךָ וּלְבָנֶיךָ עַד־עוֹלָם׃Ushemartém et-haddavár hazzéh leják-lejá ulvanéja ad-olám.And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever.
25וְהָיָה כִּי־תָבֹאוּ אֶל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר יִתֵּן יְהֹוָה לָכֶם כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבֵּר וּשְׁמַרְתֶּם אֶת־הָעֲבֹדָה הַזֹּאת׃Vehayáh ki-tavóu el-ha'árets ashér yittén The Eternal lajém ka'ashér dibbér ushemartém et-ha'avodáh hazzót.And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which The Eternal will give you, according as He hath promised, that ye shall keep this service.
26וְהָיָה כִּי־יֹאמְרוּ אֲלֵיכֶם בְּנֵיכֶם מָה הָעֲבֹדָה הַזֹּאת לָכֶם׃Vehayáh ki-yomerú aleijém beneijém mah ha'avodáh hazzót lajém.And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you: What mean ye by this service?
27וַאֲמַרְתֶּם זֶבַח־פֶּסַח הוּא לַיהֹוָה אֲשֶׁר פָּסַח עַל־בָּתֵּי בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּמִצְרַיִם בְּנָגְפּוֹ אֶת־מִצְרַיִם וְאֶת־בָּתֵּינוּ הִצִּיל וַיִּקֹּד הָעָם וַיִּשְׁתַּחֲוּוּ׃Va'amartém zévaj-Pésaj hu l'The Eternal ashér pasáj al-batté vené-Yisraél beMitsráyim benogpó et-Mitsráyim ve'et-batténu hitsíl vayyikkód ha'ám vayyishtajavú.that ye shall say: It is the sacrifice of The Eternal's passover, for that He passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when He smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses.' And the people bowed the head and worshipped.
28וַיֵּלְכוּ וַיַּעֲשׂוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהֹוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן כֵּן עָשׂוּ׃Vayyelejú vayya'asú bené Yisraél ka'ashér tsivváh The Eternal et-Moshé ve'Aharón ken asú.And the children of Israel went and did so; as The Eternal had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.

30וַיָּקָם פַּרְעֹה לַיְלָה הוּא וְכָל־עֲבָדָיו וְכָל־מִצְרַיִם וּתְהִי צְעָקָה גְדֹלָה בְּמִצְרָיִם כִּי־אֵין בַּיִת אֲשֶׁר אֵין־שָׁם מֵת׃Vayyákam Par'ó láylah hu vejol-avadáv vejol-Mitsráyim uthí tse'akáh guedoláh beMitsráyim ki-én báyit ashér en-sham met.And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
31וַיִּקְרָא לְמֹשֶׁה וּלְאַהֲרֹן לַיְלָה וַיֹּאמֶר קוּמוּ צְּאוּ מִתּוֹךְ עַמִּי גַּם־אַתֶּם גַּם־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וּלְכוּ עִבְדוּ אֶת־יְהֹוָה כְּדַבֶּרְכֶם׃Vayyikrá le-Moshé ule-Aharón láylah vayyómér kúmu ts'ú mittój ammí gam-attém gam-bené Yisraél ulejú ivdú et The Eternal kedabberjém.And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said: 'Rise up, get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve The Eternal, as ye have said.
32גַּם־צֹאנְכֶם גַּם־בְּקַרְכֶם קְחוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר דִּבַּרְתֶּם וָלֵכוּ וּבֵרַכְתֶּם גַּם־אֹתִי׃Gam-tsonjém gam-bekarjém kejú ka'ashér dibbártem valéju uverajtém gam-otí.Take also your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be gone; and bless me also.'
33וַתֶּחֱזַק מִצְרַיִם עַל־הָעָם לְמַהֵר לְשַׁלְּחָם מִן־הָאָרֶץ כִּי אָמְרוּ כֻּלָּנוּ מֵתִים׃Vattéjezák Mitsráyim al-ha'ám lemahér leshallejám min-ha'árets ki amerú kullánu metím.And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, to send them out of the land in haste; for they said: 'We are all dead men.'
34וַיִּשָּׂא הָעָם אֶת־בְּצֵקוֹ טֶרֶם יֶחְמָץ מִשְׁאֲרֹתָם צְרֻרֹת בְּשִׂמְלֹתָם עַל־שִׁכְמָם׃Vayyissá ha'ám et-betsekó térem yejmáts mish'arotám tserurót besimlotám al-shijmám.And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading-troughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.
35וּבְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל עָשׂוּ כִּדְבַר מֹשֶׁה וַיִּשְׁאֲלוּ מִמִּצְרַיִם כְּלֵי־כֶסֶף וּכְלֵי זָהָב וּשְׂמָלֹת׃Uvené-Yisraél asú kidvár Moshé vayyish'alú miMitsráyim kelé-jésef ujelé zaháv usmalót.And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment.
36וַיהֹוָה נָתַן אֶת־חֵן הָעָם בְּעֵינֵי מִצְרַיִם וַיַּשְׁאִלוּם וַיְנַצְּלוּ אֶת־מִצְרָיִם׃V'The Eternal natán et-jen ha'ám be'ené Mitsráyim vayyash'ilúm vaynattselú et-Mitsráyim.And The Eternal gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. And they despoiled the Egyptians.
37וַיִּסְעוּ בְנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵרַעְמְסֵס סֻכֹּתָה כְּשֵׁשׁ־מֵאוֹת אֶלֶף רַגְלִי הַגְּבָרִים לְבַד מִטָּף׃Vayyis'ú vené-Yisraél me-Ra'msés Sukkótah keshésh-meót élef raglí haggevarím levád mi-táf.And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, beside children.
38וְגַם־עֵרֶב רַב עָלָה אִתָּם וְצֹאן וּבָקָר מִקְנֶה כָּבֵד מְאֹד׃Vegam-érev rav alá ittam vetsón uvakár miknéh kavéd me'ód.And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.
39וַיֹּאפוּ אֶת־הַבָּצֵק אֲשֶׁר הוֹצִיאוּ מִמִּצְרַיִם עֻגֹת מַצּוֹת כִּי לֹא חָמֵץ כִּי־גֹרְשׁוּ מִמִּצְרַיִם וְלֹא יָכְלוּ לְהִתְמַהְמֵהַּ וְגַם־צֵדָה לֹא־עָשׂוּ לָהֶם׃Vayyofú et-habbatsék ashér hotsí'u miMitsráyim ugot matsót ki lo jaméts ki-goreshú miMitsráyim veló yajelú lehitmahméah vegam-tsedáh lo-asú lahém.And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.
40וּמוֹשַׁב בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר יָשְׁבוּ בְּמִצְרָיִם שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וְאַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה׃Umosháv bené Yisraél ashér yashvú beMitsráyim sheloshím shanáh ve'arbá meót shanáh.Now the time that the children of Israel dwelt in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years.
41וַיְהִי מִקֵּץ שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וְאַרְבַּע מֵאוֹת שָׁנָה וַיְהִי בְּעֶצֶם הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה יָצְאוּ כָּל־צִבְאוֹת יְהֹוָה מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם׃Vayehí mikkéts sheloshím shanáh ve'arbá meót shanáh vayehí be'étsem hayyóm hazzéh yats'ú kol-tsiv'ót The Eternal me'érets Mitsráyim.And it came to pass at the end of four hundred and thirty years, even it came to pass on that selfsame day, that all the hosts of The Eternal went out from the land of Egypt.
42לֵיל שִׁמֻּרִים הוּא לַיהֹוָה לְהוֹצִיאָם מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם הוּא־הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה לַיהֹוָה שִׁמֻּרִים לְכָל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לְדֹרֹתָם׃Lel shimmurím hu l'The Eternal lehotsi'ám me'érets Mitsráyim hu-halláylah hazzéh l'The Eternal shimmurím lejol-bené Yisraél ledorotám.It was a night of watching unto The Eternal for bringing them out from the land of Egypt; this same night is a night of watching unto The Eternal for all the children of Israel throughout their generations.
43וַיֹּאמֶר יְהֹוָה אֶל־מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן זֹאת חֻקַּת הַפָּסַח כָּל־בֶּן־נֵכָר לֹא יֹאכַל בּוֹ׃Vayyómér The Eternal el-Moshé ve'Aharón zot jukkát happásaj kol-ben-nejár lo yojál bo.And The Eternal said unto Moses and Aaron: 'This is the ordinance of the passover: there shall no alien eat thereof;
44וְכָל־עֶבֶד אִישׁ מִקְנַת־כָּסֶף וּמַלְתָּה אֹתוֹ אָז יֹאכַל בּוֹ׃Vejol-éved ish miknát-késef umaltáh otó az yojál bo.but every man's servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him, then shall he eat thereof.
45תּוֹשָׁב וְשָׂכִיר לֹא־יֹאכַל בּוֹ׃Toshav vesajír lo-yojál bo.A sojourner and a hired servant shall not eat thereof.
46בְּבַיִת אֶחָד יֵאָכֵל לֹא־תוֹצִיא מִן־הַבַּיִת מִן־הַבָּשָׂר חוּצָה וְעֶצֶם לֹא תִשְׁבְּרוּ־בוֹ׃Beváyit ejád ye'ajél lo-totsí min-habbáyit min-habbasár jútshah ve'étsem lo tishberú-vo.In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth aught of the flesh out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof.
47כָּל־עֲדַת יִשְׂרָאֵל יַעֲשׂוּ אֹתוֹ׃Kol-adát Yisraél ya'asú otó.All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.
48וְכִי־יָגוּר אִתְּךָ גֵּר וְעָשָׂה פֶסַח לַיהֹוָה הִמּוֹל לוֹ כָל־זָכָר וְאָז יִקְרַב לַעֲשֹׂתוֹ וְהָיָה כְּאֶזְרַח הָאָרֶץ וְכָל־עָרֵל לֹא־יֹאכַל בּוֹ׃Vejí-yagúr ittejá guer ve'asáh Pésaj l'The Eternal himmól lo jol-zajár ve'az yikráv la'asotó vehayáh ke'ezráj ha'árets vejol-arél lo-yojál bo.And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to The Eternal, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land; but no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
49תּוֹרָה אַחַת יִהְיֶה לָאֶזְרָח וְלַגֵּר הַגָּר בְּתוֹכְכֶם׃Toráh aját yihyéh la'ezráj velaggér haggár betojejém.One law shall be to him that is home-born, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.'
50וַיַּעֲשׂוּ כָּל־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יְהֹוָה אֶת־מֹשֶׁה וְאֶת־אַהֲרֹן כֵּן עָשׂוּ׃Vayya'asú kol-bené Yisraél ka'ashér tsivváh The Eternal et-Moshé ve'Aharón ken asú.Thus did all the children of Israel; as The Eternal commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
51וַיְהִי בְּעֶצֶם הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה הוֹצִיא יְהֹוָה אֶת־בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם עַל־צִבְאֹתָם׃Vayehí be'étsem hayyóm hazzéh hotsí The Eternal et-bené Yisraél me'érets Mitsráyim al-tsivotám.And it came to pass the selfsame day, that The Eternal did bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their hosts.

2קַדֶּשׁ־לִי כָל־בְּכוֹר פֶּטֶר כָּל־רֶחֶם בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּאָדָם וּבַבְּהֵמָה לִי הוּא׃Kaddésh-li jol-bejor péter kol-réjem bivné Yisraél ba'adám uvabbēhemáh li hu.'Sanctify unto Me all the first-born, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast; it is Mine.'
3וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל־הָעָם זָכוֹר אֶת־הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר יְצָאתֶם מִמִּצְרַיִם מִבֵּית עֲבָדִים כִּי בְּחֹזֶק יָד הוֹצִיא יְהֹוָה אֶתְכֶם מִזֶּה וְלֹא יֵאָכֵל חָמֵץ׃Vayyómér Moshé el-ha'ám zajór et-hayyóm hazzéh ashér yetsatém miMitsráyim mibbét avadím ki bejózek yad hotsí The Eternal etjém mizzé veló ye'ajél jaméts.And Moses said unto the people: 'Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand The Eternal brought you out from this place; there shall no leavened bread be eaten.
4הַיּוֹם אַתֶּם יֹצְאִים בְּחֹדֶשׁ הָאָבִיב׃Hayyóm attém yots'ím bejódesh ha'avív.This day ye go forth in the month Abib.
5וְהָיָה כִי־יְבִיאֲךָ יְהֹוָה אֶל־אֶרֶץ הַכְּנַעֲנִי וְהַחִתִּי וְהָאֱמֹרִי וְהַחִוִּי וְהַיְבוּסִי אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע לַאֲבֹתֶיךָ לָתֶת לָךְ אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבָשׁ וְעָבַדְתָּ אֶת־הָעֲבֹדָה הַזֹּאת בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה׃Vehayáh ji-yevi'ajá The Eternal el-érets hakKena'aní vehajIttí veha'Emorí vehajIviv vehayVusí ashér nishbá la'avotéja látet laj érets zavát jaláv udevásh ve'avadtá et-ha'avodáh hazzót bajódesh hazzéh.And it shall be when The Eternal shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which He swore unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.
6שִׁבְעַת יָמִים תֹּאכַל מַצֹּת וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי חַג לַיהֹוָה׃Shiv'át yamím tojal matsót uvayyóm hashshevi'í jag l'The Eternal.Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to The Eternal.
7מַצּוֹת יֵאָכֵל אֵת שִׁבְעַת הַיָּמִים וְלֹא־יֵרָאֶה לְךָ חָמֵץ וְלֹא־יֵרָאֶה לְךָ שְׂאֹר בְּכָל־גְּבֻלֶךָ׃Matsót ye'ajél et shiv'át hayyamím veló-yerā'éh lejá jaméts veló-yerā'éh lejá se'ór bejól-guévuléja.Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee, in all thy borders.
8וְהִגַּדְתָּ לְבִנְךָ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא לֵאמֹר בַּעֲבוּר זֶה עָשָׂה יְהֹוָה לִי בְּצֵאתִי מִמִּצְרָיִם׃Vehiggadtá levinjá bayyóm hahú lemór ba'avúr zeh asáh The Eternal li betséti miMitsráyim.And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying: It is because of that which The Eternal did for me when I came forth out of Egypt.
9וְהָיָה לְךָ לְאוֹת עַל־יָדְךָ וּלְזִכָּרוֹן בֵּין עֵינֶיךָ לְמַעַן תִּהְיֶה תּוֹרַת יְהֹוָה בְּפִיךָ כִּי בְּיָד חֲזָקָה הוֹצִאֲךָ יְהֹוָה מִמִּצְרָיִם׃Vehayáh lejá le'ót al-yadejá ulzikkarón ben enéja lemá'an tihyéh Torát The Eternal bepíja ki beyád jazakáh hotsi'ajá The Eternal miMitsráyim.And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thy hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the law of The Eternal may be in thy mouth; for with a strong hand hath The Eternal brought thee out of Egypt.
10וְשָׁמַרְתָּ אֶת־הַחֻקָּה הַזֹּאת לְמוֹעֲדָהּ מִיָּמִים יָמִימָה׃Veshamartá et-hajukkáh hazzót lemo'adáh miyyamím yamímah.Thou shalt therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year.
11וְהָיָה כִּי־יְבִאֲךָ יְהֹוָה אֶל־אֶרֶץ הַכְּנַעֲנִי כַּאֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע לְךָ וְלַאֲבֹתֶיךָ וּנְתָנָהּ לָךְ׃Vehayáh ki-yevi'ajá The Eternal el-érets hakKena'aní ka'ashér nishbá lejá ula'avotéja unetanáh laj.And it shall be when The Eternal shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanite, as He swore unto thee and to thy fathers, and shall give it thee,
12וְהַעֲבַרְתָּ כָל־פֶּטֶר־רֶחֶם לַיהֹוָה וְכָל־פֶּטֶר שֶׁגֶר בְּהֵמָה אֲשֶׁר יִהְיֶה לְךָ הַזְּכָרִים לַיהֹוָה׃Ve'a'avartá jol-péter-réjem l'The Eternal vejol-péter shéguer behemáh ashér yihyéh lejá hazzecarím l'The Eternal.that thou shalt set apart unto The Eternal all that openeth the womb, and every firstling which thou hast that cometh of a beast; the males shall be The Eternal's.
13וְכָל־פֶּטֶר חֲמֹר תִּפְדֶּה בְשֶׂה וְאִם־לֹא תִפְדֶּה וַעֲרַפְתּוֹ וְכֹל בְּכוֹר אָדָם בְּבָנֶיךָ תִּפְדֶּה׃Vejol-péter jamór tifdéh veséh ve'im-lo tifdéh va'araftó vejol bejór adám bevanéja tifdéh.And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break its neck; and all the first-born of man among thy sons shalt thou redeem.
14וְהָיָה כִּי־יִשְׁאָלְךָ בִנְךָ מָחָר לֵאמֹר מַה־זֹּאת וְאָמַרְתָּ אֵלָיו בְּחֹזֶק יָד הוֹצִיאָנוּ יְהֹוָה מִמִּצְרַיִם מִבֵּית עֲבָדִים׃Vehayáh ki-yish'aljá vinjá majár lemór mah-zót ve'amartá eláv bejózek yad hotsi'ánu The Eternal miMitsráyim mibbét avadím.And it shall be when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying: What is this? that thou shalt say unto him: By strength of hand The Eternal brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage;
15וַיְהִי כִּי־הִקְשָׁה פַרְעֹה לְשַׁלְּחֵנוּ וַיַּהֲרֹג יְהֹוָה כָּל־בְּכוֹר בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם מִבְּכֹר אָדָם וְעַד־בְּכוֹר בְּהֵמָה עַל־כֵּן אֲנִי זֹבֵחַ לַיהֹוָה כָּל־פֶּטֶר רֶחֶם הַזְּכָרִים וְכָל־בְּכוֹר בָּנַי אֶפְדֶּה׃Vayehí ki-hiksháh Far'ó leshallejénu vayyaharóg The Eternal kol-bejór be'érets Mitsráyim mibbejor adám ve'ad-bejór behemáh al-ken aní zovéaj l'The Eternal kol-péter réjem hazzecarím vejol-bejór banáy efdéh.and it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go, that The Eternal slew all the first-born in the land of Egypt, both the first-born of man, and the first-born of beast; therefore I sacrifice to The Eternal all that openeth the womb, being males; but all the first-born of my sons I redeem.

The word that The Eternal spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, how that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon should come and smite the land of Egypt.
14 הַגִּידוּ בְמִצְרַיִם וְהַשְׁמִיעוּ בְמִגְדּוֹל וְהַשְׁמִיעוּ בְנֹף וּבְתַחְפַּנְחֵס אִמְרוּ הִתְיַצֵּב וְהָכֵן לָךְ כִּי־אָכְלָה חֶרֶב סְבִיבֶיךָ׃ Haggídu veMitsráyim vehashmí'u veMigdól vehashmí'u veNof uv'Tajpanjés imrú hityatssév vehajén laj ki-ajeláh jérev sevivéja. Declare ye in Egypt, and announce in Migdol, and announce in Noph and in Tahpanhes; say ye: 'Stand forth, and prepare thee; for the sword hath devoured round about thee.'
15 מַדּוּעַ נִסְחַף אַבִּירֶיךָ לֹא עָמַד כִּי יְהֹוָה הֲדָפֽוֹ׃ Maddúa' nisjáf abbiréja lo amád ki The Eternal hadafó. Why are thy strong ones swept away? they stood not, because The Eternal did thrust them down.
16 הִרְבָּה כּוֹשֵׁל גַּם־נָפַל אִישׁ אֶל־רֵעֵהוּ וַיֹּאמְרוּ קוּמָה וְנָשֻׁבָה אֶל־עַמֵּנוּ וְאֶל־אֶרֶץ מוֹלַדְתֵּנוּ מִפְּנֵי חֶרֶב הַיּוֹנָה׃ Hirbáh joshél gam-nafál ish el-re'éhu vayyomerú kúmah venashúvah el-amménu ve'el-érets moladténu mippené jérev hayyonáh. He made many to stumble; yea, they fell one upon another, and they said: 'Arise, and let us go back to our own people, and to the land of our nativity, from the oppressing sword.'
17 קָרְאוּ שָׁם פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִם שָׁאוֹן הֶעֱבִיר הַמּוֹעֵד׃ Kar'ú sham Par'ó mélej-Mitsráyim shaón he'evír hammo'éd. They cried there: 'Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he hath let the appointed time pass by.'
18 חַי־אָנִי נְאֻם־הַמֶּלֶךְ יְהֹוָה צְבָאוֹת שְׁמוֹ כִּי כְּתָבוֹר בֶּהָרִים וּכְכַרְמֶל בַּיָּם יָבוֹא׃ Jay-áni ne'um-hammélej The Eternal Tsevaót shemó ki keTavór beharím ujeJarmél bayyám yavó. As I live, saith the King, whose name is The Eternal of hosts, surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.
19 כְּלֵי גוֹלָה עֲשִׂי לָךְ יוֹשֶׁבֶת בַּת־מִצְרָיִם כִּי־נֹף לְשַׁמָּה תִהְיֶה וְנִצְּתָה מֵאֵין יוֹשֵׁב׃ Kelé goláh así laj yoshévet bat-Mitsráyim ki-Nof leshammáh tihyéh venitstsetáh me'én yoshév. O thou daughter that dwellest in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into captivity; for Noph shall become a desolation, and shall be laid waste, without inhabitant.
20 עֶגְלָה יְפֵה־פִיָּה מִצְרָיִם קֶרֶץ מִצָּפוֹן בָּא בָא׃ Egláh yefé-fiyyáh Mitsráyim kérets mitstsafón ba va. Egypt is a very fair heifer; but a gadfly from the north is come, it is come.
21 גַּם־שְׂכִרֶיהָ בְקִרְבָּהּ כְּעֶגְלֵי מַרְבֵּק כִּי־גַם־הֵמָּה הִפְנוּ נָסוּ יַחְדָּו לֹא עָמָדוּ כִּי יוֹם אֵידָם בָּא עֲלֵיהֶם עֵת פְּקֻדָּתָם׃ Gam-sejíreja vekirbáh ke'eglé marbék ki-gam-hémmah hifnú nasú yajdáv lo amádu ki yom edám ba aleijém et pekuddatám. Also her mercenaries in the midst of her are like calves of the stall; for they also are turned back, they are fled away together, they did not stand; for the day of their calamity is come upon them, the time of their visitation.
22 קוֹלָהּ כַּנָּחָשׁ יֵלֵךְ כִּי־בְחַיִל יֵלֵכוּ וּבְקַרְדֻּמּוֹת בָּאוּ לָהּ כְּחֹטְבֵי עֵצִים׃ Koláh kannajásh yeléj ki-vejáyil yeléju uv'kardummót baú lah kejotevé etsím. The sound thereof shall go like the serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.
23 כָּרְתוּ יַעְרָהּ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָה כִּי לֹא יֵחָקֵר כִּי רַבּוּ מֵאַרְבֶּה וְאֵין לָהֶם מִסְפָּר׃ Karetú ya'ráh ne'um-The Eternal ki lo yejakér ki rabbú me'arbéh ve'én lahém mispár. They cut down her forest, saith The Eternal, though it cannot be searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are innumerable.
24 הֹבִישָׁה בַּת־מִצְרָיִם נִתְּנָה בְּיַד עַם־צָפוֹן׃ Hovíshah bat-Mitsráyim nittenáh beyád am-tsafón. The daughter of Egypt is put to shame; she is delivered into the hand of the people of the north.'
25 אָמַר יְהֹוָה צְבָאוֹת אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הִנְנִי פוֹקֵד אֶל־אָמוֹן מִנֹּא וְעַל־פַּרְעֹה וְעַל־מִצְרַיִם וְעַל־אֱלֹהֶיהָ וְעַל־מְלָכֶיהָ וְעַל־פַּרְעֹה וְעַל הַבֹּטְחִים בּוֹ׃ Amár The Eternal Tsevaót Elohé Yisraél hinení fokéd el-Amón minNó ve'al-Par'ó ve'al-Mitsráyim ve'al-eloheijá ve'al-melajeijá ve'al-Par'ó ve'al habbotjím bo. The Eternal of hosts, the Elohim of Israel, saith: Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods, and her kings; even Pharaoh, and them that trust in him;
26 וּנְתַתִּים בְּיַד מְבַקְשֵׁי נַפְשָׁם וּבְיַד נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶל וּבְיַד־עֲבָדָיו וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵן תִּשְׁכֹּן כִּימֵי־קֶדֶם נְאֻם־יְהֹוָה׃ Unetattím beyád mevakshé nafshám uv'yád Nevujadre'tsár mélej-Bavél uv'yád-avadáv ve'ajáré-jen tishkón kimé-kédem ne'um-The Eternal. and I will deliver them into the hand of those that seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants; and afterwards it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, saith The Eternal.
27 וְאַתָּה אַל־תִּירָא עַבְדִּי יַעֲקֹב וְאַל־תֵּחַת יִשְׂרָאֵל כִּי הִנְנִי מוֹשִֽׁעֲךָ מֵרָחוֹק וְאֶת־זַרְעֲךָ מֵאֶרֶץ שִׁבְיָם וְשָׁב יַעֲקוֹב וְשָׁקַט וְשַׁאֲנַן וְאֵין מַחֲרִיד׃ Ve'attáh al-tirá avdí Ya'akóv ve'al-teját Yisraél ki hinení moshí'ajá merajók ve'et-zar'ajá me'érets shivyám veshab Ya'akóv veshakát vesha'anán ve'én majaríd. But fear thou not, O Jacob My servant, neither be dismayed, O Israel; for, behold, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
28 אַתָּה אַל־תִּירָא עַבְדִּי יַעֲקֹב נְאֻם־יְהֹוָה כִּי אִתְּךָ אָנִי כִּי אֶעֱשֶׂה כָלָה בְּכָל־הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר הִדַּחְתִּיךָ שָׁמָּה וְאֹתְךָ לֹא־אֶעֱשֶׂה כָלָה וְיִסַּרְתִּיךָ לַמִּשְׁפָּט וְנַקֵּה לֹא אֲנַקֶּךָּ׃ Attáh al-tirá avdí Ya'akóv ne'um-The Eternal ki ittejá áni ki e'eséh jaláh bejól-haggoyím ashér hiddajtíja shámmah ve'otejá lo-e'eséh jaláh veyissartíja lammishpát venakkéh lo anakkéka. Fear thou not, O Jacob My servant, saith The Eternal, for I am with thee; for I will make a full end of all the nations whither I have driven thee, but I will not make a full end of thee; and I will correct thee in measure, but will not utterly destroy thee.
