Behar-Bechukotai — "On the Mount" / "In My Statutes" (Leviticus 25:1–27:34). This double portion concludes the Book of Leviticus. Behar deals with the laws of Shemitah (Sabbatical year) and Yovel (Jubilee). Bechukotai presents the blessings for obedience and the severe reproofs for abandoning the covenant, concluding with laws on vows and consecrations. All verses of each Aliyah are presented here in their entirety, without omissions.

First Aliyah
Lev. 25:1–13 · 13 verses
The Shemitah: the land must rest on the seventh year. The Yovel: every 50 years liberty is proclaimed, lands return to their original owners.

25:1כה:אוַיְדַבֵּ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה בְּהַ֥ר סִינָ֖י לֵאמֹֽר׃Vayedaber Adonai el-Moshe, b'har Sinai lemor.The Eternal spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, saying:
25:2כה:בדַּבֵּ֞ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶ֔ם כִּ֣י תָבֹ֔אוּ אֶל־הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲנִ֖י נֹתֵ֣ן לָכֶ֑ם וְשָׁבְתָ֣ה הָאָ֔רֶץ שַׁבָּ֖ת לַיהוָֽה׃Daber el-b'nei Yisrael v'amarta aleihem, ki tavo'u el-ha'aretz asher ani noten lachem, v'shav'tah ha'aretz Shabbat l'Adonai.Speak to the children of Israel and say to them: When you come into the land which I give you, the land shall keep a Sabbath to the Eternal.
25:3כה:גשֵׁ֤שׁ שָׁנִים֙ תִּזְרַ֣ע שָׂדֶ֔ךָ וְשֵׁ֥שׁ שָׁנִ֖ים תִּזְמֹ֣ר כַּרְמֶ֑ךָ וְאָסַפְתָּ֖ אֶת־תְּבוּאָתָֽהּ׃Shesh shanim tizra sadecha, v'shesh shanim tizmor karmecha, v'asafta et-t'vuatah.Six years you shall sow your field, and six years you shall prune your vineyard, and gather its fruit.
25:4כה:דוּבַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗ת שַׁבַּ֤ת שַׁבָּתוֹן֙ יִהְיֶ֣ה לָאָ֔רֶץ שַׁבָּ֖ת לַיהוָ֑ה שָֽׂדְךָ֙ לֹ֣א תִזְרָ֔ע וְכַרְמְךָ֖ לֹ֥א תִזְמֹֽר׃Uvashanah hash'vi'it, Shabbat shabbaton yihyeh la'aretz, Shabbat l'Adonai; sad'cha lo tizra, v'charmecha lo tizmor.But in the seventh year shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a Sabbath to the Eternal; you shall neither sow your field nor prune your vineyard.
25:5כה:האֵ֣ת סְפִ֤יחַ קְצִֽירְךָ֙ לֹ֣א תִקְצ֔וֹר וְאֶת־עִנְּבֵ֥י נְזִירֶ֖ךָ לֹ֣א תִבְצֹ֑ר שְׁנַ֥ת שַׁבָּת֖וֹן יִהְיֶ֥ה לָאָֽרֶץ׃Et s'fiach k'tzircha lo tiktzor, v'et-invei n'zirecha lo tivtzor; sh'nat shabbaton yihyeh la'aretz.What grows of itself from your harvest you shall not reap, and the grapes of your undressed vine you shall not gather; it shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.
25:6כה:ווְ֠הָיְתָה שַׁבַּ֨ת הָאָ֤רֶץ לָכֶם֙ לְאָכְלָ֔ה לְךָ֖ וּלְעַבְדְּךָ֣ וְלַאֲמָתֶ֑ךָ וְלִשְׂכִֽירְךָ֙ וּלְתוֹשָׁ֣בְךָ֔ הַגָּרִ֖ים עִמָּֽךְ׃V'haytah Shabbat ha'aretz lachem l'ochlah, l'cha ul'avd'cha v'la'amatecha, v'lis'chircha ul'toshavcha, hagarim imach.And the Sabbath of the land shall be food for you: for you, your manservant, your maidservant, your hired servant, and the stranger who dwells with you.
25:7כה:זוְלִ֨בְהֶמְתְּךָ֔ וְלַֽחַיָּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּאַרְצֶ֑ךָ תִּהְיֶ֥ה כָל־תְּבוּאָתָ֖הּ לֶאֱכֹֽל׃V'livhemt'cha v'lachayah asher b'artzecha, tihyeh chol-t'vuatah le'echol.And for your cattle and the beasts in your land, all its produce shall be for food.
25:8כה:חוְסָפַרְתָּ֣ לְךָ֗ שֶׁ֚בַע שַׁבְּתֹ֣ת שָׁנִ֔ים שֶׁ֥בַע שָׁנִ֖ים שֶׁ֣בַע פְּעָמִ֑ים וְהָי֣וּ לְךָ֗ יְמֵי֙ שֶׁ֚בַע שַׁבְּתֹ֣ת הַשָּׁנִ֔ים תֵּ֥שַׁע וְאַרְבָּעִ֖ים שָׁנָֽה׃V'safarta l'cha sheva shabtot shanim, sheva shanim sheva p'amim; v'hayu l'cha y'mei sheva shabtot hashanim, tesha v'arba'im shanah.You shall count seven Sabbaths of years, seven times seven years; so the days of the seven Sabbaths of years shall be forty-nine years.
25:9כה:טוְהַֽעֲבַרְתָּ֞ שׁוֹפַ֤ר תְּרוּעָה֙ בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִעִ֔י בֶּעָשׂ֖וֹר לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ בְּיוֹם֙ הַכִּפֻּרִ֔ים תַּעֲבִ֥ירוּ שׁוֹפָ֖ר בְּכָל־אַרְצְכֶֽם׃V'ha'avarta shofar t'ruah bachodesh hash'vi'i, be'asor lachodesh; b'yom hakippurim ta'aviru shofar b'chol artzechem.Then you shall sound the shofar of jubilee on the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month; on the Day of Atonement you shall sound the shofar throughout all your land.
25:10כה:יוְקִדַּשְׁתֶּ֗ם אֵ֣ת שְׁנַ֤ת הַחֲמִשִּׁים֙ שָׁנָ֔ה וּקְרָאתֶ֥ם דְּר֛וֹר בָּאָ֖רֶץ לְכָל־יֹשְׁבֶ֑יהָ יוֹבֵ֥ל הִוא֙ תִּהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֔ם וְשַׁבְתֶּ֗ם אִ֚ישׁ אֶל־אֲחֻזָּת֔וֹ וְאִ֥ישׁ אֶל־מִשְׁפַּחְתּ֖וֹ תָּשֻֽׁבוּ׃V'kiddashtem et sh'nat hachamishim shanah, ukratem dror ba'aretz l'chol-yosh'veha; yovel hi tihyeh lachem, v'shavtem ish el-achuzato, v'ish el-mishpachto tashuvu.And you shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants; it shall be a Jubilee to you, and you shall return every man to his possession, and every man to his family you shall return.
25:11כה:יאיוֹבֵ֣ל הִ֗וא שְׁנַ֛ת הַחֲמִשִּׁ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה תִּהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֑ם לֹ֣א תִזְרָ֔עוּ וְלֹ֤א תִקְצְרוּ֙ אֶת־סְפִיחֶ֔יהָ וְלֹ֥א תִבְצְר֖וּ אֶת־נְזִרֶֽיהָ׃Yovel hi, sh'nat hachamishim shanah tihyeh lachem; lo tizra'u, v'lo tiktz'ru et-s'ficheha, v'lo tivtz'ru et-n'zireha.This fiftieth year shall be a Jubilee to you; you shall not sow, neither reap that which grows of itself, nor gather the grapes of the undressed vines.
25:12כה:יבכִּ֚י יוֹבֵ֣ל הִ֔וא קֹ֖דֶשׁ תִּהְיֶ֣ה לָכֶ֑ם מִן־הַ֨שָּׂדֶ֔ה תֹּאכְל֖וּ אֶת־תְּבוּאָתָֽהּ׃Ki yovel hi, kodesh tihyeh lachem; min-hasadeh tochlu et-t'vuatah.For it is a Jubilee; it shall be holy to you; you shall eat its produce from the field.
25:13כה:יגבִּשְׁנַ֥ת הַיּוֹבֵ֖ל הַזֹּ֑את תָּשֻׁ֕בוּ אִ֖ישׁ אֶל־אֲחֻזָּתֽוֹ׃Bishnat hayovel hazot, tashuvu ish el-achuzato.In this Year of Jubilee you shall return every man to his possession.

Laws of fair commerce according to the proximity of the Jubilee; prohibition against defrauding one's neighbor.

25:14כה:ידוְכִֽי־תִמְכְּר֤וּ מִמְכָּר֙ לַעֲמִיתֶ֔ךָ א֥וֹ קָנֹ֖ה מִיַּ֣ד עֲמִיתֶ֑ךָ אַל־תּוֹנ֖וּ אִ֥ישׁ אֶת־אָחִֽיו׃V'chi timk'ru mimkar la'amitecha, o kano miyad amitecha, al-tonu ish et-achiv.When you sell anything to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor's hand, you shall not wrong one another.
25:15כה:טובְּמִסְפַּ֤ר שָׁנִים֙ אַחַ֣ר הַיּוֹבֵ֔ל תִּקְנֶ֖ה מֵאֵ֣ת עֲמִיתֶ֑ךָ בְּמִסְפַּ֥ר שְׁנֵֽי־תְבוּאֹ֖ת יִמְכָּר־לָֽךְ׃B'mispar shanim achar hayovel tikneh me'et amitecha; b'mispar sh'nei-t'vuot yimkor-lach.According to the number of years after the Jubilee you shall buy from your neighbor; according to the number of years of crops he shall sell to you.
25:16כה:טזלְפִ֣י ׀ רֹ֣ב הַשָּׁנִ֗ים תַּרְבֶּה֙ מִקְנָת֔וֹ וּלְפִי֙ מְעֹ֣ט הַשָּׁנִ֔ים תַּמְעִ֖יט מִקְנָת֑וֹ כִּ֚י מִסְפַּ֣ר תְּבוּאֹ֔ת ה֥וּא מֹכֵ֖ר לָֽךְ׃L'fi rov hashanim tarbeh miknato, ul'fi m'ot hashanim tam'it miknato; ki mispar t'vuot hu mocher lach.According to the multitude of years you shall increase its price, and according to the fewness of years you shall diminish its price; for he sells you the number of crops.
25:17כה:יזוְלֹ֤א תוֹנוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־עֲמִית֔וֹ וְיָרֵ֖אתָ מֵֽאֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃V'lo tonu ish et-amito, v'yareta me'Elochecha; ki ani Adonai Eloheichem.You shall not wrong one another, but you shall fear your God; for I am the Eternal your God.
25:18כה:יחוַעֲשִׂיתֶם֙ אֶת־חֻקֹּתַ֔י וְאֶת־מִשְׁפָּטַ֥י תִּשְׁמְר֖וּ וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם אֹתָ֑ם וִֽישַׁבְתֶּ֥ם עַל־הָאָ֖רֶץ לָבֶֽטַח׃Va'asitem et-chukotai, v'et-mishpatai tishm'ru va'asitem otam; vishavtem al-ha'aretz lavetach.Therefore you shall do My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and you shall dwell in the land in safety.

Third Aliyah
Lev. 25:19–24 · 6 verses
The blessing of the sixth year producing for three years; the land shall not be sold permanently because it belongs to God.

25:19כה:יטוְנָתְנָ֤ה הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ פִּרְיָ֔הּ וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֖ם לָשֹׂ֑בַע וִֽישַׁבְתֶּ֥ם לָבֶ֖טַח עָלֶֽיהָ׃V'nat'nah ha'aretz piryah, va'achaltem lasova; vishavtem lavetach aleha.The land shall yield its fruit, and you shall eat your fill, and dwell there in safety.
25:20כה:כוְכִ֣י תֹאמְר֔וּ מַה־נֹּאכַ֖ל בַּשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשְּׁבִיעִ֑ת הֵ֚ן לֹ֣א נִזְרָ֔ע וְלֹ֥א נֶאֱסֹ֖ף אֶת־תְּבוּאָתֵֽנוּ׃V'chi tom'ru, mah-nochal bashanah hash'vi'it; hen lo nizra, v'lo ne'esof et-t'vuateinu.And if you say, "What shall we eat in the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our produce."
25:21כה:כאוְצִוִּ֤יתִי אֶת־בִּרְכָתִי֙ לָכֶ֔ם בַּשָּׁנָ֖ה הַשִּׁשִּׁ֑ית וְעָשָׂת֙ אֶת־הַתְּבוּאָ֔ה לִשְׁלֹ֖שׁ הַשָּׁנִֽים׃V'tziviti et-birkati lachem, bashanah hashishit; v'asat et-hat'vuah, lishlosh hashanim.I will command My blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth produce for three years.
25:22כה:כבוּזְרַעְתֶּ֗ם אֵ֚ת הַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשְּׁמִינִ֔ת וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֖ם מִן־הַתְּבוּאָ֣ה יָשָׁ֑ן עַ֣ד ׀ הַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַתְּשִׁיעִ֗ת עַד־בּוֹא֙ תְּב֣וּאָתָ֔הּ תֹּאכְל֖וּ יָשָֽׁן׃Uz'ratem et hashanah hash'minit, va'achaltem min-hat'vuah yashan; ad hashanah hat'shi'it, ad-bo t'vuatah, tochlu yashan.And you shall sow in the eighth year, and eat of the old produce until the ninth year; until its produce comes in, you shall eat the old.
25:23כה:כגוְהָאָ֗רֶץ לֹ֤א תִמָּכֵר֙ לִצְמִתֻ֔ת כִּי־לִ֖י הָאָ֑רֶץ כִּֽי־גֵרִ֧ים וְתוֹשָׁבִ֛ים אַתֶּ֖ם עִמָּדִֽי׃V'ha'aretz lo timacher litzmitut, ki-li ha'aretz; ki-gerim v'toshavim atem imadi.The land shall not be sold permanently, for the land is Mine; for you are strangers and sojourners with Me.
25:24כה:כדוּבְכֹ֖ל אֶ֣רֶץ אֲחֻזַּתְכֶ֑ם גְּאֻלָּ֖ה תִּתְּנ֥וּ לָאָֽרֶץ׃Uv'chol eretz achuzatchem, g'ullah titnu la'aretz.And in all the land of your possession you shall grant a redemption for the land.

Fourth Aliyah
Lev. 25:25–28 · 4 verses
The near kinsman (go'el) may redeem the land of his impoverished relative; if there is no redeemer, the land returns at the Jubilee.

25:26כה:כווְאִ֕ישׁ כִּ֛י לֹ֥א יִֽהְיֶה־לּ֖וֹ גֹּאֵ֑ל וְהִשִּׂ֣יגָה יָד֔וֹ וּמָצָ֖א כְּדֵ֥י גְאֻלָּתֽוֹ׃V'ish ki lo yihyeh-lo go'el; v'hisigah yado, u'matza k'dei g'ulato.Or if a man has no redeemer, but he prospers and obtains sufficient means for his redemption,
25:27כה:כזוְחִשַּׁב֙ אֶת־שְׁנֵ֣י מִמְכָּר֔וֹ וְהֵשִׁיב֙ אֶת־הָ֣עֹדֵ֔ף לָאִ֖ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר מָֽכַר־ל֑וֹ וְשָׁ֖ב לַאֲחֻזָּתֽוֹ׃V'chishav et-sh'nei mimkaro, v'heshiv et-ha'odef la'ish asher machar-lo; v'shav la'achuzato.Then let him calculate the years since its sale, and repay the remainder to the man to whom he sold it; and he shall return to his possession.
25:28כה:כחוְאִ֨ם לֹֽא־מָצְאָ֜ה יָד֗וֹ דֵּי֮ הָשִׁ֣יב לוֹ֒ וְהָיָ֣ה מִמְכָּר֗וֹ בְּיַד֙ הַקֹּנֶ֣ה אֹת֔וֹ עַ֖ד שְׁנַ֣ת הַיּוֹבֵ֑ל וְיָצָא֙ בַּיֹּבֵ֔ל וְשָׁ֖ב לַאֲחֻזָּתֽוֹ׃V'im lo-matz'ah yado dei hashev lo, v'hayah mimkaro b'yad hakoneh oto, ad sh'nat hayovel; v'yatza bayovel, v'shav la'achuzato.But if he cannot afford to repay him, what he sold shall remain in the hand of the buyer until the Year of Jubilee; and in the Jubilee it shall be released, and he shall return to his possession.

Redemption of houses in walled and unwalled cities; prohibition of usury and obligation to support the impoverished brother.

25:29כה:כטוְאִ֗ישׁ כִּֽי־יִמְכֹּ֤ר בֵּית־מוֹשַׁב֙ עִ֣יר חוֹמָ֔ה וְהָיְתָה֙ גְּאֻלָּת֔וֹ עַד־תֹּ֖ם שְׁנַ֣ת מִמְכָּר֑וֹ יָמִ֖ים תִּהְיֶ֥ה גְאֻלָּתֽוֹ׃V'ish ki-yimkor beit-moshav ir chomah, v'haytah g'ulato ad-tom sh'nat mimkaro; yamim tihyeh g'ulato.If a man sells a dwelling house in a walled city, he may redeem it within a full year after its sale; for a full year he shall have the right of redemption.
25:30כה:לוְאִ֣ם לֹֽא־יִגָּאֵ֗ל עַד־מְלֹ֣את לוֹ֩ שָׁנָ֨ה תְמִימָ֜ה וְקָ֣ם הַבַּ֗יִת אֲשֶׁר־בָּעִיר֙ אֲשֶׁר־ל֣וֹ חֹמָ֔ה לַצְּמִיתֻ֛ת לַקֹּנֶ֥ה אֹת֖וֹ לְדֹרֹתָ֑יו לֹ֥א יֵצֵ֖א בַּיֹּבֵֽל׃V'im lo-yiga'el ad-m'lot lo shanah t'mimah, v'kam habayit asher-ba'ir asher-lo chomah latzmitut, lakoneh oto l'dorotav; lo yetzei bayovel.But if it is not redeemed within a full year, the house in the walled city shall belong permanently to the buyer throughout his generations; it shall not be released in the Jubilee.
25:31כה:לאוּבָתֵּ֣י הַחֲצֵרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֵין־לָהֶ֤ם חֹמָה֙ סָבִ֔יב עַל־שְׂדֵ֥ה הָאָ֖רֶץ יֵחָשֵׁ֑ב גְּאֻלָּה֙ תִּהְיֶה־לּ֔וֹ וּבַיֹּבֵ֖ל יֵצֵֽא׃U'vatei hachatzarim asher ein-lahem chomah saviv, al-s'deh ha'aretz yechashev; g'ulah tihyeh-lo, uvayovel yetzei.But the houses of villages which have no wall around them shall be considered as fields of the country; they may be redeemed, and they shall be released in the Jubilee.
25:32כה:לבוְעָרֵי֙ הַלְוִיִּ֔ם בָּתֵּ֖י עָרֵ֣י אֲחֻזָּתָ֑ם גְּאֻלַּ֥ת עוֹלָ֖ם תִּהְיֶ֥ה לַלְוִיִּֽם׃V'arei halevi'im, batei arei achuzatam; g'ullat olam tihyeh la'levi'im.Nevertheless the cities of the Levites, the houses in the cities of their possession, the Levites may redeem at any time.
25:33כה:לגוַאֲשֶׁ֤ר יִגְאַל֙ מִן־הַלְוִיִּ֔ם וְיָצָ֧א מִמְכַּר־בַּ֛יִת וְעִ֥יר אֲחֻזָּת֖וֹ בַּיֹּבֵ֑ל כִּ֣י בָתֵּ֞י עָרֵ֣י הַלְוִיִּ֗ם הִ֚וא אֲחֻזָּתָ֔ם בְּת֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Va'asher yig'al min-halevi'im, v'yatza mimkar-bayit v'ir achuzato bayovel; ki vatei arei halevi'im hi achuzatam, b'toch b'nei Yisrael.And if one purchases from the Levites, the house that was sold and the city of his possession shall be released in the Jubilee; for the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Israel.
25:34כה:לדוּֽשְׂדֵ֛ה מִגְרַ֥שׁ עָרֵיהֶ֖ם לֹ֣א יִמָּכֵ֑ר כִּֽי־אֲחֻזַּ֥ת עוֹלָ֖ם ה֥וּא לָהֶֽם׃Us'deh migrash areihem lo yimacher; ki-achuzat olam hu lahem.But the field of the pasture lands of their cities may not be sold, for it is their perpetual possession.
25:35כה:להוְכִֽי־יָמ֣וּךְ אָחִ֔יךָ וּמָ֥טָה יָד֖וֹ עִמָּ֑ךְ וְהֶֽחֱזַ֣קְתָּ בּ֔וֹ גֵּ֧ר וְתוֹשָׁ֛ב וָחַ֖י עִמָּֽךְ׃V'chi-yamuch achicha, u'matah yado imach; v'hechezakta bo, ger v'toshav vachai imach.If your brother becomes poor and his hand fails with you, you shall strengthen him; even if he is a stranger or a sojourner, he shall live with you.
25:36כה:לואַל־תִּקַּ֤ח מֵֽאִתּוֹ֙ נֶ֣שֶׁךְ וְתַרְבִּ֔ית וְיָרֵ֖אתָ מֵֽאֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ וְחֵ֥י אָחִ֖יךָ עִמָּֽךְ׃Al-tikach me'ito neshech v'tarbit, v'yareta me'Elochecha; v'chei achicha imach.Take no interest or increase from him, but fear your God, that your brother may live with you.
25:37כה:לזאֶ֨ת־כַּסְפְּךָ֔ לֹֽא־תִתֵּ֥ן ל֖וֹ בְּנֶ֑שֶׁךְ וּבְמַרְבִּ֖ית לֹא־תִתֵּ֥ן אָכְלֶֽךָ׃Et-kasp'cha lo-titen lo b'neshech; uv'marbit lo-titen ochlecha.You shall not give him your money at interest, nor lend him your food at a profit.

25:40כה:מכְּשָׂכִ֥יר כְּתוֹשָׁ֖ב יִהְיֶ֣ה עִמָּ֑ךְ עַד־שְׁנַ֥ת הַיֹּבֵ֖ל יַעֲבֹ֥ד עִמָּֽךְ׃K'sachir k'toshav yihyeh imach; ad-sh'nat hayovel ya'avod imach.As a hired servant and a sojourner he shall be with you, and shall serve you until the Year of Jubilee.
25:41כה:מאוְיָצָ֣א מֵֽעִמָּ֔ךְ ה֖וּא וּבָנָ֣יו עִמּ֑וֹ וְשָׁב֙ אֶל־מִשְׁפַּחְתּ֔וֹ וְאֶל־אֲחֻזַּ֥ת אֲבֹתָ֖יו יָשֽׁוּב׃V'yatza me'imach, hu u'vanav imo; v'shav el-mishpachto, v'el-achuzat avotav yashuv.Then he shall depart from you, he and his children with him, and return to his own family, and to the possession of his fathers he shall return.
25:42כה:מבכִּֽי־עֲבָדַ֣י הֵ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־הוֹצֵ֥אתִי אֹתָ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם לֹ֥א יִמָּכְר֖וּ מִמְכֶּ֥רֶת עָֽבֶד׃Ki-avadai hem, asher hotzeiti otam me'eretz Mitzrayim; lo yimach'ru mimkeret aved.For they are My servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt; they shall not be sold as slaves.

25:44כה:מדוְעַבְדְּךָ֥ וַאֲמָתְךָ֖ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִהְיוּ־לָ֑ךְ מֵאֵ֣ת הַגּוֹיִ֗ם אֲשֶׁר֙ סְבִיבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם מֵהֶ֥ם תִּקְנ֖וּ עֶ֥בֶד וְאָמָֽה׃V'avd'cha va'amat'cha asher yihyu-lach, me'et hagoyim asher s'vivo teichem, mehem tiknu eved v'amah.Your male and female slaves whom you may have, from the nations around you, from them you may buy male and female slaves.
25:45כה:מהוְ֠גַם מִבְּנֵ֨י הַתּוֹשָׁבִ֜ים הַגָּרִ֤ים עִמָּכֶם֙ מֵהֶ֣ם תִּקְנ֔וּ וּמִמִּשְׁפַּחְתָּם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עִמָּכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר הוֹלִ֖ידוּ בְּאַרְצְכֶ֑ם וְהָי֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם לַֽאֲחֻזָּֽה׃V'gam mibnei hatoshavim hagarim imachem, mehem tiknu, u'mimishpachtam asher imachem, asher holidu b'artzechem; v'hayu lachem la'achuzah.And also of the children of the strangers who sojourn among you, from them you may buy, and from their families who are with you, whom they begot in your land; and they shall be your possession.
25:46כה:מווְהִתְנַחַלְתֶּ֨ם אֹתָ֜ם לִבְנֵיכֶ֤ם אַחֲרֵיכֶם֙ לָרֶ֣שֶׁת אֲחֻזָּ֔ה לְעֹלָ֖ם בָּהֶ֣ם תַּעֲבֹ֑דוּ וּבְאַ֨חֵיכֶ֤ם בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אִ֣ישׁ בְּאָחִ֔יו לֹא־תִרְדֶּ֥ה ב֖וֹ בְּפָֽרֶךְ׃V'hitnachaltem otam livneichem achareichem lareshet achuzah, l'olam bahem ta'avodu; uv'acheichem b'nei-Yisrael ish b'achiv, lo-tirdeh bo b'farech.And you may bequeath them to your children after you as an inheritance; they shall be your permanent slaves. 25:47כה:מזוְכִ֣י תַשִּׂ֗יג יַ֣ד גֵּ֤ר וְתוֹשָׁב֙ עִמָּ֔ךְ וּמָ֥ךְ אָחִ֖יךָ עִמּ֑וֹ וְנִמְכַּ֗ר לְגֵ֤ר תּוֹשָׁב֙ עִמָּ֔ךְ א֥וֹ לְעֵ֖קֶר מִשְׁפַּ֥חַת גֵּֽר׃V'chi tasig yad ger v'toshav imach, u'mach achicha imo; v'nimkar l'ger toshav imach, o l'eiker mishpachat ger.If a stranger or sojourner with you becomes rich, and your brother becomes poor beside him and sells himself to the stranger or sojourner with you, or to a member of the stranger's family,
25:48כה:מחאַחֲרֵ֣י נִמְכַּ֔ר גְּאֻלָּ֖ה תִּהְיֶה־לּ֑וֹ אֶחָ֥ד מֵאֶחָ֖יו יִגְאָלֶֽנּוּ׃Acharei nimkar, g'ulah tihyeh-lo; echad me'echav yig'alenu.After he is sold he may be redeemed; one of his brothers may redeem him.
25:49כה:מטאוֹ־דֹד֞וֹ א֤וֹ בֶן־דֹּדוֹ֙ יִגְאָלֶ֔נּוּ אֽוֹ־מִשְּׁאֵ֧ר בְּשָׂר֛וֹ מִמִּשְׁפַּחְתּ֖וֹ יִגְאָלֶ֑נּוּ אֽוֹ־הִשִּׂ֥יגָה יָד֖וֹ וְנִגְאָֽל׃O dodo o ven-dodo yig'alenu, o-mish'er b'saro mimishpachto yig'alenu; o-hisigah yado v'nig'al.Or his uncle or his uncle's son may redeem him, or anyone of his family who is near of kin may redeem him; or if he prospers, he may redeem himself.
25:50כה:נוְחִשַּׁב֙ עִם־קֹנֵ֔הוּ מִשְּׁנַת֙ הִמָּ֣כְרוֹ ל֔וֹ עַ֖ד שְׁנַ֣ת הַיֹּבֵ֑ל וְהָיָ֞ה כֶּ֤סֶף מִמְכָּרוֹ֙ בְּמִסְפַּ֣ר שָׁנִ֔ים כִּימֵ֥י שָׂכִ֖יר יִהְיֶ֥ה עִמּֽוֹ׃V'chishav im-konehu, mishnat himach'ro lo, ad sh'nat hayovel; v'hayah kesef mimkaro b'mispar shanim, kimei sachir yihyeh imo.He shall reckon with his purchaser from the year he sold himself to him until the Year of Jubilee; the price of his sale shall be according to the number of years, as the days of a hired servant.
25:51כה:נאאִם־ע֥וֹד רַבּ֖וֹת בַּשָּׁנִ֑ים לְפִיהֶן֙ יָשִׁ֣יב גְּאֻלָּת֔וֹ מִכֶּ֖סֶף מִקְנָתֽוֹ׃Im-od rabot bashanim; l'fihen yashiv g'ulato, mikesef miknato.If many years remain, according to them he shall refund his redemption price from the money of his purchase.
25:52כה:נבוְאִם־מְעַ֞ט נִשְׁאַ֧ר בַּשָּׁנִ֛ים עַד־שְׁנַ֥ת הַיֹּבֵ֖ל וְחִשַּׁב־ל֑וֹ כְּפִ֣י שָׁנָ֔יו יָשִׁ֖יב אֶת־גְּאֻלָּתֽוֹ׃V'im-m'at nish'ar bashanim ad-sh'nat hayovel; v'chishav-lo, k'fi shanav yashiv et-g'ulato.And if few years remain until the Year of Jubilee, he shall calculate with him; according to his years he shall refund his redemption price.
25:53כה:נגכִּשְׂכִ֥יר שָׁנָ֛ה בְּשָׁנָ֖ה יִהְיֶ֣ה עִמּ֑וֹ לֹֽא־יִרְדֶּ֥נּֽוּ בְּפֶ֖רֶךְ לְעֵינֶֽיךָ׃Kischir shanah b'shanah yihyeh imo; lo-yirdenu b'farech l'einecha.As a yearly hired servant he shall be with him; he shall not rule over him with rigor in your sight.
25:54כה:נדוְאִם־לֹ֥א יִגָּאֵ֖ל בְּאֵ֑לֶּה וְיָצָא֙ בִּשְׁנַ֣ת הַיֹּבֵ֔ל ה֖וּא וּבָנָ֥יו עִמּֽוֹ׃V'im-lo yiga'el b'eleh; v'yatza bishnat hayovel, hu u'vanav imo.And if he is not redeemed by these means, he shall go out in the Year of Jubilee, he and his children with him.
25:55כה:נהכִּֽי־לִ֤י בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ עֲבָדִ֔ים עֲבָדַ֣י הֵ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־הוֹצֵ֥אתִי אוֹתָ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם אֲנִ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃Ki-li v'nei-Yisrael avadim, avadai hem, asher hotzeiti otam me'eretz Mitzrayim; ani Adonai Eloheichem.For the children of Israel are My servants; they are My servants whom I brought out of the land of Egypt: I am the Eternal your God.
26:1כו:אלֹ֣א תַעֲשׂ֨וּ לָכֶ֜ם אֱלִילִ֗ם וּפֶ֤סֶל וּמַצֵּבָה֙ לֹֽא־תָקִ֣ימוּ לָכֶ֔ם וְאֶ֣בֶן מַשְׂכִּ֗ית לֹ֤א תִתְּנוּ֙ בְּאַרְצְכֶ֔ם לְהִֽשְׁתַּחֲוֹ֖ת עָלֶ֑יהָ כִּ֛י אֲנִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃Lo ta'asu lachem elilim, u'fesel u'matzevah lo-takimu lachem, v'even maskit lo titnu b'artzechem l'hishtachavot aleha; ki ani Adonai Eloheichem.You shall not make idols for yourselves, nor set up a carved image or pillar, nor place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it; for I am the Eternal your God.
26:2כו:באֶת־שַׁבְּתֹתַ֣י תִּשְׁמֹ֔רוּ וּמִקְדָּשִׁ֖י תִּירָ֑אוּ אֲנִ֖י יְהוָֽה׃Et-shabtotai tishmoru, u'mikdashi tira'u; ani Adonai.You shall keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary: I am the Eternal.
26:3כו:גאִם־בְּחֻקֹּתַ֖י תֵּלֵ֑כוּ וְאֶת־מִצְוֹתַ֣י תִּשְׁמְר֔וּ וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֖ם אֹתָֽם׃Im-b'chukotai telechu, v'et-mitzvotai tishm'ru, va'asitem otam.If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments and do them,
26:4כו:דוְנָתַתִּ֥י גִשְׁמֵיכֶ֖ם בְּעִתָּ֑ם וְנָתְנָ֤ה הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ יְבוּלָ֔הּ וְעֵ֥ץ הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה יִתֵּ֥ן פִּרְיֽוֹ׃V'natati gishmeichem b'itam; v'nat'nah ha'aretz y'vulah, v'etz hasadeh yiten piryo.Then I will give you rains in their season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
26:5כו:הוְהִשִּׂ֨יג לָכֶ֥ם דַּ֙יִשׁ֙ אֶת־בָּצִ֔יר וּבָצִ֖יר יַשִּׂ֣יג אֶת־זָ֑רַע וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֤ם לַחְמְכֶם֙ לָשֹׂ֔בַע וִֽישַׁבְתֶּ֥ם לָבֶ֖טַח בְּאַרְצְכֶֽם׃V'hisig lachem dayish et-batzir, u'vatzir yasig et-zara; va'achaltem lachm'chem lasova, vishavtem lavetach b'artzechem.Your threshing shall last till the vintage, and the vintage shall last till sowing time; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell safely in your land.
26:6כו:ווְנָתַתִּ֤י שָׁלוֹם֙ בָּאָ֔רֶץ וּשְׁכַבְתֶּ֖ם וְאֵ֣ין מַחֲרִ֑יד וְהִשְׁבַּתִּ֞י חַיָּ֤ה רָעָה֙ מִן־הָאָ֔רֶץ וְחֶ֖רֶב לֹא־תַעֲבֹ֥ר בְּאַרְצְכֶֽם׃V'natati shalom ba'aretz, u'sh'chavtem v'ein macharid; v'hishbati chayah ra'ah min-ha'aretz, v'cherev lo-ta'avor b'artzechem.I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down and none shall make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword shall not go through your land.
26:7כו:זוּרְדַפְתֶּ֖ם אֶת־אֹיְבֵיכֶ֑ם וְנָפְל֥וּ לִפְנֵיכֶ֖ם לֶחָֽרֶב׃U'rdaftem et-oyveichem; v'naflu lifneichem lecharev.You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you.
26:8כו:חוְרָדְפ֨וּ מִכֶּ֤ם חֲמִשָּׁה֙ מֵאָ֔ה וּמֵאָ֥ה מִכֶּ֖ם רְבָבָ֣ה יִרְדֹּ֑פוּ וְנָפְל֧וּ אֹיְבֵיכֶ֛ם לִפְנֵיכֶ֖ם לֶחָֽרֶב׃V'radfu mikem chamishah me'ah, u'me'ah mikem r'vavah yirdofu; v'naflu oyveichem lifneichem lecharev.Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you.
26:9כו:טוּפָנִ֣יתִי אֲלֵיכֶ֔ם וְהִפְרֵיתִ֣י אֶתְכֶ֔ם וְהִרְבֵּיתִ֖י אֶתְכֶ֑ם וַהֲקִימֹתִ֥י אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֖י אִתְּכֶֽם׃U'faniti aleichem, v'hifreiti etchem, v'hirbeiti etchem; v'hakimoti et-briti it'chem.I will turn toward you and make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will establish My covenant with you.

17:2יז:בכִּזְכֹּ֤ר בְּנֵיהֶם֙ מִזְבְּחוֹתָ֔ם וַאֲשֵׁרֵיהֶ֖ם עַל־עֵ֣ץ רַעֲנָ֑ן עַ֖ל גְּבָע֥וֹת הַגְּבֹהֽוֹת׃Kiz'kor b'neihem mizb'chotam, va'asheireihem al-etz ra'anan, al g'va'ot hag'vohot.While their children remember their altars and their Asherim by the green trees on the high hills.
17:3יז:גהֲרָרִי֙ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה חֵילְךָ֥ כָל־אוֹצְרוֹתֶ֖יךָ לָבַ֣ז אֶתֵּ֑ן בָּמֹתֶ֕יךָ בְּחַטָּ֖את בְּכָל־גְּבוּלֶֽיךָ׃Harari basadeh, cheilcha chol-otz'roteicha lavaz eten; bamoteicha b'chatat b'chol-g'vulecha.O My mountain in the field, I will give your wealth and all your treasures as spoil, your high places for sin throughout your borders.
17:4יז:דוְשָׁמַטְתָּ֣ה וּבְךָ֔ מִנַּחֲלָֽתְךָ֖ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָתַ֣תִּי לָ֑ךְ וְהַעֲבַדְתִּ֙יךָ֙ אֶת־אֹ֣יְבֶ֔יךָ בָּאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־יָדָ֑עְתָּ כִּֽי־אֵ֛שׁ קְדַחְתֶּ֥ם בְּאַפִּ֖י עַד־עוֹלָ֥ם תּוּקָֽד׃V'shamat'tah uv'cha, minachalatcha asher natati lach; v'ha'avadticha et-oyveicha ba'aretz asher lo-yada'ta; ki-eish k'dachtem b'api, ad-olam tukad.And you shall let go of your heritage which I gave you; I will make you serve your enemies in a land you do not know; for you have kindled a fire in My anger which shall burn forever.
17:5יז:הכֹּ֣ה ׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה אָר֤וּר הַגֶּ֙בֶר֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִבְטַ֣ח בָּֽאָדָ֔ם וְשָׂ֥ם בָּשָׂ֖ר זְרֹע֑וֹ וּמִן־יְהוָ֖ה יָס֥וּר לִבּֽוֹ׃Koh amar Adonai: arur hagever asher yivtach ba'adam, v'sam basar z'ro'o, u'min-Adonai yasur libo.Thus says the Eternal: Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from the Eternal.
17:6יז:ווְהָיָה֙ כְּעַרְעָ֣ר בָּעֲרָבָ֔ה וְלֹ֥א יִרְאֶ֖ה כִּֽי־יָב֣וֹא ט֑וֹב וְשָׁכַ֤ן חֲרֵרִים֙ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר אֶ֥רֶץ מְלֵחָ֖ה וְלֹ֥א תֵשֵֽׁב׃V'hayah k'ar'ar ba'aravah, v'lo yir'eh ki-yavo tov; v'shachan charerim bamidbar, eretz m'lechah v'lo teshev.He shall be like a juniper in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in a salt land uninhabited.
17:7יז:זבָּר֣וּךְ הַגֶּ֔בֶר אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִבְטַ֖ח בַּיהוָ֑ה וְהָיָ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה מִבְטַחֽוֹ׃Baruch hagever asher yivtach b'Adonai; v'hayah Adonai mivtacho.Blessed is the man who trusts in the Eternal, and whose trust is the Eternal.
17:8יז:חוְהָיָ֞ה כְּעֵ֣ץ ׀ שָׁת֣וּל עַל־מַ֗יִם וְעַל־יוּבַל֙ יְשַׁלַּ֣ח שָֽׁרָשָׁ֔יו וְלֹ֤א יִרְאֶה֙ כִּֽי־יָ֣בֹא חֹ֔ם וְהָיָ֥ה עָלֵ֖הוּ רַעֲנָ֑ן וּבִשְׁנַ֤ת בַּצֹּ֙רֶת֙ לֹ֣א יִדְאָ֔ג וְלֹ֥א יָמִ֖ישׁ מֵעֲשׂ֥וֹת פֶּֽרִי׃V'hayah k'etz shatul al-mayim, v'al-yuval y'shalach sharashav, v'lo yir'eh ki-yavo chom, v'hayah alehu ra'anan; uvishnat batzoret lo yid'ag, v'lo yamish mei'asot peri.He shall be like a tree planted by the waters, that spreads its roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but its leaf shall be green; in the year of drought it shall not be anxious, nor cease from yielding fruit.
17:9יז:טעָקֹ֥ב הַלֵּ֛ב מִכֹּ֖ל וְאָנֻ֣שׁ ה֑וּא מִ֖י יֵדָעֶֽנּוּ׃Akov halev mikol v'anush hu; mi yeda'enu.The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?
17:10יז:יאֲנִ֧י יְהוָ֛ה חֹקֵ֥ר לֵ֖ב בֹּחֵ֣ן כְּלָי֑וֹת וְלָתֵ֤ת לְאִישׁ֙ כִּדְרָכָ֔יו כִּפְרִ֖י מַעֲלָלָֽיו׃Ani Adonai choker lev, bochen k'layot; v'latet l'ish kidrachav, kifri ma'alalav.I the Eternal search the heart, test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.
17:11יז:יאקֹרֵ֤א דָגַר֙ וְלֹ֣א יָלָ֔ד עֹ֥שֶׂה עֹ֖שֶׁר וְלֹ֣א בְמִשְׁפָּ֑ט בַּחֲצִ֤י יָמָיו֙ יַעַזְבֶ֔נּוּ וּבְאַחֲרִית֖וֹ יִהְיֶ֥ה נָבָֽל׃Korei dagar v'lo yalad, oseh osher v'lo v'mishpat; bachatzi yamav ya'azvenu, uv'achrito yihyeh naval.Like a partridge that broods but does not hatch, so is he who gets riches but not by right; it will leave him in the midst of his days, and in the end he will be a fool.
17:12יז:יבכִּסֵּ֣א כָב֔וֹד מָר֖וֹם מֵרִאשׁ֑וֹן מְק֖וֹם מִקְדָּשֵֽׁנוּ׃Kisei chavod, marom meirishon; m'kom mikdasheinu.A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.
17:13יז:יגמִקְוֵ֤ה יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ יְהוָ֔ה כָּל־עֹזְבֶ֖יךָ יֵבֹ֑שׁוּ וְסוּרַי֙ בָּאָ֣רֶץ יִכָּתֵ֔בוּ כִּ֥י עָזְב֛וּ מְק֥וֹר מַֽיִם־חַיִּ֖ים אֶת־יְהוָֽה׃Mikveh Yisrael Adonai, kol-oz'veicha yeivoshu; v'surai ba'aretz yikatevu, ki azvu m'kor mayim-chayim et-Adonai.O Eternal, the hope of Israel, all who forsake You shall be ashamed; those who depart from Me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Eternal, the fountain of living waters.
17:14יז:ידרְפָאֵ֤נִי יְהוָה֙ וְאֵ֣רָפֵ֔א הוֹשִׁיעֵ֖נִי וְאִוָּשֵׁ֑עָה כִּ֥י תְהִלָּתִ֖י אָֽתָּה׃R'fa'eini Adonai v'eirafei, hoshi'eini v'ivashe'ah; ki t'hilati atah.Heal me, O Eternal, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise.
