| 7:7–8 | וַיָּקֻ֙מוּ֙ וַיָּנ֣וּסוּ בַנֶּ֔שֶׁף... וַיָּבֹ֛אוּ הַמְּצֹרָעִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה עַד-קְצֵ֣ה הַמַּחֲנֶ֑ה׃ | Vaiakomú vainusú... vaiavoú hametsoraím haelé ad-ketsé hamajané. | The Arameans fled in the dark, abandoning tents, horses, and donkeys. The four lepers arrived at the edge of the camp, entered a tent, ate, drank, and carried off silver, gold, and garments. |
| 7:9 | וַיֹּאמְרוּ֙ אִ֣ישׁ אֶל-רֵעֵ֔הוּ לֹא-כֵ֣ן אֲנַ֣חְנוּ עֹשִׂ֗ים הַיּ֤וֹם הַזֶּה֙ י֣וֹם-בְּשֹׂרָ֣ה ה֔וּא... לְכ֖וּ וְנַגִּ֥ידָה בֵּית-הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ | Vayomrú ish el-reiéhu: lo-jén anájnu osim... lejú venagidá beit-hamélej. | Then they said to each other: "We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news and we are keeping silent. Let us go and announce it to the king's household." |
| 7:10–16 | וַיָּבֹ֗אוּ וַיִּקְרְא֞וּ אֶל-שֹׁעֵ֤ר הָעִיר֙... וַיֵּצֵ֣א הָעָ֗ם וַיָּבֹ֙זּוּ֙ אֶת-מַחֲנֵ֣ה אֲרָ֔ם וַיְהִ֤י סְאָה-סֹ֙לֶת֙ בְּשֶׁ֔קֶל... כִּדְבַ֖ר יְהוָֽה׃ | Vaiavoú vaiyikrú el-sho'er haír... vaihi seá-sólet beshákel... kidvar Adonái. | They reported to the gatekeepers; the king was told. He sent scouts who found the road to the Jordan strewn with equipment the Arameans dropped in haste. The people went out and plundered the camp. A seah of fine flour sold for a shekel, two seahs of barley for a shekel — as the Lord had spoken. |
| 7:17–20 | וְהַמֶּ֗לֶךְ הִפְקִ֤יד עַל-הַשַּׁ֙עַר֙ אֶת-הַשָּׁלִ֔ישׁ... וַיִּרְמְסֻ֥הוּ הָעָ֖ם בַּשַּׁ֑עַר וַיָּמֹ֕ת כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֶּ֖ר אִ֥ישׁ הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ | Vehamélej hifkid al-hashaar et-hashalish... vayirmesúhu haám bashaár vayamót, kaasher dibér ish haeloím. | The king had appointed the officer on whose arm he leaned to be in charge of the gate — the people trampled him in the gate and he died, exactly as the man of God had foretold when the king had said: "If the Lord made windows in heaven, could this thing happen?" — "You shall see it with your eyes but shall not eat of it." |
