43:21
עַם־זוּ יָצַרְתִּי לִי תְּהִלָּתִי יְסַפֵּרוּ׃
Am-zu yatzarti li, tehillati yesaperu.
This people I have formed for Myself; they shall declare My praise.
43:22
וְלֹא אֹתִי קָרָאתָ יַעֲקֹב כִּי יָגַעְתָּ בִּי יִשְׂרָאֵל׃
Velo oti karata Yaakov, ki yagata bi Yisra’el.
But you have not called upon Me, O Jacob; rather, you have grown weary of Me, O Israel.
43:23
לֹא־הֵבֵאתָ לִּי שֶׂה עֹלֹתֶיךָ וּזְבָחֶיךָ לֹא כִבַּדְתָּנִי לֹא הֶעֱבַדְתִּיךָ בְּמִנְחָה וְלֹא הוֹגַעְתִּיךָ בִּלְבוֹנָה׃
Lo-heveta li seh oloteja uzevajéja lo jibadtani; lo he’avadetija beminjah velo hoga’tija bilvonah.
You have not brought Me the sheep of your burnt offerings, neither have you honored Me with your sacrifices; I have not burdened you with meal offerings nor wearied you with frankincense.
43:24
לֹא־קָנִיתָ לִּי בַכֶּסֶף קָנֶה וְחֵלֶב זְבָחֶיךָ לֹא רִוִּיתָנִי אַךְ הֶעֱבַדְתַּנִי בְּחַטֹּאותֶיךָ הוֹגַעְתַּנִי בַּעֲוֹנֹתֶיךָ׃
Lo-kanita li bakesev kaneh vejelev zevajéja lo rivitani; aj he’avadetani bejatoteja, hoga’tani ba’avonoteja.
You have not bought Me sweet cane with money, nor have you filled Me with the fat of your sacrifices; rather you have burdened Me with your sins, you have wearied Me with your iniquities.
43:25
אָנֹכִי אָנֹכִי הוּא מֹחֶה פְשָׁעֶיךָ לְמַעֲנִי וְחַטֹּאתֶיךָ לֹא אֶזְכֹּר׃
Anoji anoji hu mojeh pesha’eja lema’ani vejatoteja lo ezkor.
I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and your sins I will not remember.
43:26
הַזְכִּירֵנִי נִשָּׁפְטָה יָחַד סַפֵּר אַתָּה לְמַעַן תִּצְדָּק׃
Hazkireni nishapetah yajad; saper atah lema’an titzdak.
Put Me in remembrance; let us plead together; declare you, that you may be justified.
43:27
אָבִיךָ הָרִאשׁוֹן חָטָא וּמְלִיצֶיךָ פָּשְׁעוּ בִי׃
Avija harishon jata, umelitseja pash’u bi.
Your first father sinned, and your interpreters transgressed against Me.
43:28
וָאֲחַלֵּל שָׂרֵי קֹדֶשׁ וָאֶתֵּן לַחֵרֶם יַעֲקֹב וְיִשְׂרָאֵל לִגְדֻפִים׃
Va’ajallel sarei kodesh, va’eten lajerem Yaakov veYisra’el ligdufim.
Therefore I profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and gave Jacob to destruction, and Israel to reviling.
44:1
וְעַתָּה שְׁמַע יַעֲקֹב עַבְדִּי וְיִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר בָּחַרְתִּי בוֹ׃
Ve’atah shema Yaakov avdi veYisra’el asher bajarti bo.
Yet now hear, O Jacob My servant, and Israel whom I have chosen.
44:2
כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה עֹשֶׂךָ וְיֹצֶרְךָ מִבֶּטֶן יַעְזְרֶךָ אַל־תִּירָא עַבְדִּי יַעֲקֹב וִישֻׁרוּן בָּחַרְתִּי בוֹ׃
Ko amar Adonay oseja veyotserja mibeten ya’azreja; al-tira avdi Yaakov vYeshurun bajarti bo.
Thus says the Eternal who made you and formed you from the womb, who will help you: Fear not, O Jacob My servant, and Yeshurun whom I have chosen.
44:3
כִּי אֶצָּק מַיִם עַל־צָמֵא וְנוֹזְלִים עַל־יַבָּשָׁה אֶצֹּק רוּחִי עַל־זַרְעֶךָ וּבִרְכָתִי עַל־צֶאֱצָאֶיךָ׃
Ki etzok mayim al-tzame, venozlim al-yabashah; etzok ruji al-zar’eja uvirjati al-tze’etza’eja.
For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and streams upon the dry ground; I will pour My spirit upon your seed, and My blessing upon your offspring.
44:4
וְצָמְחוּ בְּבֵין חָצִיר כַּעֲרָבִים עַל־פַּלְגֵי מָיִם׃
Vetzamju bevein jatzir, ka’aravim al-palgei mayim.
And they shall spring up among the grass, as willows by the watercourses.
44:5
זֶה יֹאמַר לַיהוָה אָנִי וְזֶה יִקְרָא בְּשֵׁם יַעֲקֹב וְזֶה יִכְתֹּב יָדוֹ לַיהוָה וּבְשֵׁם יִשְׂרָאֵל יְכַנֶּה׃
Zeh yomar l’Adonay ani, vezeh yikra beshem Yaakov, vezeh yiktov yado l’Adonay uveshem Yisra’el yekaneh.
One shall say: I am the Eternal’s; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the Eternal, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
44:6
כֹּה־אָמַר יְהוָה מֶלֶךְ יִשְׂרָאֵל וְגֹאֲלוֹ יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת אֲנִי רִאשׁוֹן וַאֲנִי אַחֲרוֹן וּמִבַּלְעָדַי אֵין אֱלֹהִים׃
Ko amar Adonay Melej Yisra’el vego’alo Adonay Tzeva’ot: Ani rishon va’ani ajaron, umibal’adai ein Elohim.
Thus says the Eternal, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, the Eternal of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last, and besides Me there is no God.
44:7
וּמִי־כָמוֹנִי יִקְרָא וְיַגִּידֶהָ וְיַעַרְכֶהָ לִי מִשּׂוּמִי עַם־עוֹלָם וְאֹתוֹת וַאֲשֶׁר תָּבֹאנָה יַגִּידוּ לָמוֹ׃
Umi-jamoni yikra veyagideha veya’arjeha li misumi am-olam, ve’otot va’asher tavonah yagidu lamo.
And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient people? And the things that are coming, and that shall come to pass, let them declare.
44:8
אַל־תִּפְחֲדוּ וְאַל־תִּרְהוּ הֲלוֹא מֵאָז הִשְׁמַעְתִּיךָ וְהִגַּדְתִּי וְאַתֶּם עֵדָי הֲיֵשׁ אֱלוֹהַּ מִבַּלְעָדַי וְאֵין צוּר בַּל־יָדָעְתִּי׃
Al-tifjadu ve’al-tirhu; halo me’az hishma’tija vehigadti, ve’atem edai. Hayesh Eloah mibal’adai? Ve’ein tzur bal-yada’ti.
Fear not, neither be afraid; have I not told you from old, and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there a God besides Me? Indeed, there is no Rock; I know not any.
44:9
יֹצְרֵי־פֶסֶל כֻּלָּם תֹּהוּ וַחֲמוּדֵיהֶם בַּל־יוֹעִילוּ וְעֵדֵיהֶם הֵמָּה בַּל־יִרְאוּ וּבַל־יֵדְעוּ לְמַעַן יֵבֹשׁוּ׃
Yotzrei-fesel kulam tohu, vajamudeihem bal-yo’ilu; ve’edeihem hemah bal-yir’u uval-yed’u lema’an yevoshu.
They that fashion a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and their own witnesses neither see nor know, that they may be ashamed.
44:10
מִי־יָצַר אֵל וּפֶסֶל נָסָךְ לְבִלְתִּי הוֹעִיל׃
Mi-yatzar el u’fesel nasaj levilti ho’il.
Who has fashioned a god, or molten a graven image that profits nothing?
44:11
הֵן כָּל־חֲבֵרָיו יֵבֹשׁוּ וְחָרָשִׁים הֵמָּה מֵאָדָם יִתְקַבְּצוּ כֻלָּם יַעַמְדוּ יִפְחָדוּ יֵבֹשׁוּ יָחַד׃
Hen kol-javerav yevoshu vejarashim hemah me’adam; yitkabtzu kulam, ya’amdu, yifjadu, yevoshu yajad.
Behold, all his fellows shall be put to shame, and the craftsmen are but men; let them all gather themselves together, let them stand up; they shall fear, they shall be ashamed together.
44:12
חָרַשׁ בַּרְזֶל מַעֲצָד וּפָעַל בַּגֶּחָלִים וּבַמַּקָּבוֹת יִצָּרֵהוּ וּפָעַל בִּזְרוֹעַ כֹּחוֹ גַּם־רָעֵב וְאֵין כֹּחַ לֹא שָׁתָה מַיִם וַיִּיעָף׃
Jarash barzel ma’atzad ufa’al bagejalim uvamakavot yitzarehu ufa’al bizroa kojo; gam-ra’ev ve’ein koaj, lo shatah mayim vayiya’af.
The smith works with the tongs and fashions it in the coals, and shapes it with hammers, and works it with his strong arm; yes, he grows hungry and his strength fails, he drinks no water and becomes faint.
44:13
חָרַשׁ עֵצִים נָטָה קָו יְתָאֲרֵהוּ בַשֶּׂרֶד יַעֲשֵׂהוּ בַמַּקְצֻעוֹת וּבַמְּחוּגוֹת יְתָאֲרֵהוּ וַיַּעֲשֵׂהוּ כְּתַבְנִית אִישׁ כְּתִפְאֶרֶת אָדָם לָשֶׁבֶת בָּיִת׃
Jarash etzim nata kav, yeta’arehu basered, ya’asehu bamaktsu’ot uvmachugot yeta’arehu, vaya’asehu ketavnit ish ketif’eret adam lashevet bayit.
The carpenter stretches out a line, marks it with a stylus, shapes it with planes, and marks it with a compass, and makes it after the form of a man, according to the beauty of a man, to dwell in a house.
44:14
לִכְרֹת־לוֹ אֲרָזִים וַיִּקַּח תִּרְזָה וְאַלּוֹן וַיְאַמֶּץ לוֹ בַּעֲצֵי יַעַר נָטַע אֹרֶן וְגֶשֶׁם יְגַדֵּל׃
Lijrot-lo arazim vayikaj tirzah ve’alon vaya’amez lo ba’atzei ya’ar; nata oren vegeshem yegadel.
He cuts down cedars for himself, and takes the cypress and the oak, and strengthens for himself among the trees of the forest; he plants a pine, and the rain nourishes it.
44:15
וְהָיָה לְאָדָם לְבָעֵר וַיִּקַּח מֵהֶם וַיָּחָם אַף יַשִּׂיק וְאָפָה לָחֶם אַף יִפְעַל־אֵל וַיִּשְׁתַּחוּ יַעֲשֵׂהוּ פֶסֶל וַיִּסְגָּד־לוֹ׃
Vehayah le’adam leva’er, vayikaj mehem vayajam, af yasiq ve’afah lajem, af yif’al el vayishtajavu, ya’asehu pesel vayisgad-lo.
Then it shall be for a man to burn; he takes of it and warms himself, yes, he kindles it and bakes bread; yes, he makes a god and worships it; he makes it a graven image and falls down before it.
44:16
חֶצְיוֹ שָׂרַף בְּמוֹ־אֵשׁ עַל־חֶצְיוֹ בָּשַׂר יֹאכֵל יִצְלֶה צָלִי וְיִשְׂבָּע אַף יָחֹם וְיֹאמַר הֶאָח חַמּוֹתִי רָאִיתִי אוּר׃
Jetzio saraf bemo esh; al-jetzio basar yojel, yitzleh tzali veyisba, af yajom veyomar he’ah jamoti ra’iti ur.
Half of it he burns in the fire; over half of it he eats flesh; he roasts roast and is satisfied; yes, he warms himself and says: “Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire.”
44:17
וּשְׁאֵרִיתוֹ לְאֵל עָשָׂה לְפִסְלוֹ יִסְגֹּד־לוֹ וְיִשְׁתַּחוּ וְיִתְפַּלֵּל אֵלָיו וְיֹאמַר הַצִּילֵנִי כִּי אֵלִי אָתָּה׃
U’she’erito le’el asah lepislo; yisgod-lo veyishtajavu veyitpalel elav veyomar hatzileini ki eli atah.
And the rest of it he makes into a god, even his graven image; he falls down to it and worships, and prays to it and says: “Deliver me, for you are my god.”
44:18
לֹא יָדְעוּ וְלֹא יָבִינוּ כִּי טָח מֵרְאוֹת עֵינֵיהֶם מֵהַשְׂכִּיל לִבֹּתָם׃
Lo yade’u velo yavinu ki taj mer’ot eineihem mehasquil libotam.
They do not know, nor do they understand, for He has shut their eyes from seeing and their hearts from understanding.
44:19
וְלֹא יָשִׁיב אֶל־לִבּוֹ וְלֹא דַעַת וְלֹא תְבוּנָה לֵאמֹר חֶצְיוֹ שָׂרַפְתִּי בְמוֹ־אֵשׁ וְאַף אָפִיתִי עַל־גֶּחָלָיו לֶחֶם אֶצְלֶה בָשָׂר וְאֹכֵל וְיִתְרוֹ לְתוֹעֵבָה אֶעֱשֶׂה לְבוּל עֵץ אֶסְגּוֹד׃
Velo yashiv el-libó velo da’at velo tevunah lemor: jatzio sarafti bemo esh ve’af afiti al-gejalav lajem; etzleh basar ve’ochel veyitro leto’evah e’eseh, levul etz esgod.
And none considers in his heart, nor is there knowledge or understanding to say: “I have burned part of it in the fire, yes, I have baked bread upon its coals; I have roasted flesh and eaten it; and shall I make the rest of it an abomination? Shall I fall down to a block of wood?”
44:20
רֹעֶה אֵפֶר לֵב הוּתָל הִטָּהוּ וְלֹא יַצִּיל אֶת־נַפְשׁוֹ וְלֹא יֹאמַר הֲלוֹא שֶׁקֶר בִּימִינִי׃
Ro’eh efer lev hutal hitahu velo yatzil et-nafsho velo yomar halo sheker bimíni.
He feeds on ashes; a deceived heart has turned him aside, and he cannot deliver his soul nor say: “Is there not a lie in my right hand?”
44:21
זְכָר־אֵלֶּה יַעֲקֹב וְיִשְׂרָאֵל כִּי עַבְדִּי אָתָּה יְצַרְתִּיךָ עֶבֶד־לִי אַתָּה יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא תִנָּשֶׁה מִמֶּנִּי׃
Zejár eleh Yaakov veYisra’el ki avdi atah; yetzartija eved-li atah, Yisra’el lo tinashé mimeni.
Remember these things, O Jacob and Israel, for you are My servant; I have formed you; you are My servant; Israel shall not be forgotten by Me.
44:22
מָחִיתִי כָעָב פְּשָׁעֶיךָ וְכֶעָנָן חַטֹּאותֶיךָ שׁוּבָה אֵלַי כִּי גְאַלְתִּיךָ׃
Majiti ka’av pesha’eja veje’anan jatoteja; shuvah elai ki ge’altija.
I have blotted out as a thick cloud your transgressions, and as a cloud your sins; return to Me, for I have redeemed you.
44:23
רָנּוּ שָׁמַיִם כִּי־עָשָׂה יְהוָה הָרִיעוּ תַּחְתִּיּוֹת אָרֶץ פִּצְחוּ הָרִים רִנָּה יַעַר וְכָל־עֵץ בּוֹ כִּי גָאַל יְהוָה יַעֲקֹב וּבְיִשְׂרָאֵל יִתְפָּאָר׃
Ranu shamayim ki asah Adonay; hari’u tajtiyot aretz; pitju harim rinah, ya’ar vejol etz bo; ki ga’al Adonay Yaakov uveYisra’el yitpa’ar.
Sing, O heavens, for the Eternal has done it; shout, you depths of the earth; break forth into singing, you mountains, O forest and every tree in it; for the Eternal has redeemed Jacob, and glorifies Himself in Israel.
