Mizmor shir ḥanukkat habbayit leDavid. A psalm, a song for the dedication of the House; of David.
Aromimkha Adonai, ki dillitani; velo simmaḥta oyvai li. I will exalt You, Adonai, for You have lifted me up and did not let my enemies rejoice over me.
Adonai Elohai, shivva‘ti eilekha; vattirpa’eni. Adonai my God, I cried to You, and You healed me.
Adonai, he‘elita min Sheol nafshi; ḥiyyitani miyordi vor. Adonai, You brought my soul up from Sheol; You restored me to life from among those who descend into the pit.
Zammeru la-Adonai ḥasidav; vehodu lezekher kodsho. Sing praise to Adonai, His faithful ones, and give thanks to His holy remembrance.
כִּי רֶגַע בְּאַפּוֹ חַיִּים בִּרְצוֹנוֹ בָּעֶרֶב יָלִין בֶּכִי וְלַבֹּקֶר רִנָּה Ki rega‘ be’appo, ḥayyim birtzono; ba‘erev yalin bekhi, velabboker rinnah. For His anger lasts but a moment, while life is in His favor. Weeping may lodge for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
Va’ani amarti veshalvi: bal emmot le‘olam. As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I shall never be moved.”
Adonai, birtzonkha he‘emadtah leharreri ‘oz; histarta fanekha, hayiti nivhal. Adonai, by Your favor You made my mountain stand strong; You hid Your face, and I was terrified.
Eilekha Adonai ekra; ve’el Adonai etḥannan. To You, Adonai, I call, and to my Lord I plead for mercy.
Hayodekha ‘afar? Hayaggid amittekha? What profit is there in my blood, if I descend to the pit? Will dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth?
Shema‘ Adonai veḥonneni; Adonai, heyeh ‘ozer li. Hear, Adonai, and be gracious to me; Adonai, be my helper.
Hafakhta mispedi lemaḥol li; pittaḥta sakki vatte’azzereni simḥah. You turned my mourning into dancing for me; You loosened my sackcloth and girded me with joy.
Lema‘an yezammerkha khavod velo yiddom; Adonai Elohai, le‘olam odeka. So that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent; Adonai my God, I will thank You forever.
