Lamnatze’aḥ mizmor leDavid. For the leader. A psalm of David.
In You, Adonai, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame; in Your righteousness deliver me.
Incline Your ear to me; rescue me quickly. Be for me a rock of strength, a house of fortresses to save me.
Ki sal‘i umetzudati attah; ulema‘an shimkha tanḥeni utenahaleni. For You are my rock and my fortress; for the sake of Your name, lead me and guide me.
Totzi’eni mereshet zu tamnu li, ki attah ma‘uzzi. Bring me out of the net they have hidden for me, for You are my refuge.
Beyadekha afkid ruḥi; paditah oti Adonai El emet. Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, Adonai, God of truth.
I hate those who regard worthless vanities, but I trust in Adonai.
I will rejoice and be glad in Your kindness, for You have seen my affliction; You have known the troubles of my soul.
Velo hisgartani beyad oyev; he‘emadta vammerḥav raglai. You have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a broad place.
חָנֵּנִי יְהוָה כִּי צַר־לִי עָשְׁשָׁה בְכַעַס עֵינִי נַפְשִׁי וּבִטְנִי Ḥonneni Adonai, ki tzar li; ‘asheshah vekha‘as ‘eini, nafshi uvitni. Be gracious to me, Adonai, for I am in distress; my eye wastes away from grief, my soul and my body also.
For my life is spent in sorrow and my years in sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away.
מִכָּל־צֹרְרַי הָיִיתִי חֶרְפָּה וְלִשֲׁכֵנַי מְאֹד וּפַחַד לִמְיֻדָּעָי רֹאַי בַחוּץ נָדְדוּ מִמֶּנִּי Mikkol tzorerai hayiti ḥerpah, velishakhenai me’od; ufaḥad limeyudda‘ai; ro’ai vaḥutz nadedu mimmeni. Because of all my adversaries I became a reproach, especially to my neighbors, and a dread to my acquaintances; those who see me outside flee from me.
Nishkaḥti kemet millev; hayiti kikhli oved. I have been forgotten like one dead from the heart; I have become like a lost vessel.
For I heard the slander of many, terror on every side; when they conspired together against me, they plotted to take my life.
Va’ani ‘alekha vataḥti Adonai; amarti: Elohai attah. But I trusted in You, Adonai; I said, “You are my God.”
Beyadekha ‘ittotai; hatzileni miyad oyvai umerodefai. My times are in Your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my pursuers.
Make Your face shine upon Your servant; save me in Your kindness.
Adonai, let me not be put to shame, for I have called upon You; let the wicked be ashamed and be silent in Sheol.
Let lying lips be mute, those that speak arrogantly against the righteous with pride and contempt.
How abundant is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You, which You have performed for those who take refuge in You before the children of man.
Tastirem beseter panekha merukhsei ish; titzpenem besukkah meriv leshonot. You hide them in the shelter of Your presence from the plots of men; You conceal them in a sukkah from the strife of tongues.
Barukh Adonai, ki hifli ḥasdo li be‘ir matzor. Blessed is Adonai, for He has wondrously shown His kindness to me in a besieged city.
וַאֲנִי אָמַרְתִּי בְחָפְזִי נִגְרַזְתִּי מִנֶּגֶד עֵינֶיךָ אָכֵן שָׁמַעְתָּ קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנַי בְּשַׁוְּעִי אֵלֶיךָ Va’ani amarti veḥofzi: nigrazti minneged ‘enekha; akhen shamata kol taḥanunai beshavve‘i eilekha. I had said in my alarm, “I am cut off from before Your eyes.” Yet You heard the voice of my supplications when I cried to You.
Love Adonai, all His faithful ones. Adonai preserves the faithful and repays abundantly the one who acts with pride.
Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for Adonai.
