| 2 | אָמַר נָבָל בְּלִבּוֹ אֵין אֱלֹהִים הִשְׁחִיתוּ וְהִתְעִיבוּ עָוֶל אֵין עֹשֵׂה־טוֹב | A-már na-vál be-lib-bó ein E-lo-hím; hish-khí-tu ve-hit-a-í-vu á-vel; ein o-séh tóv. | The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good. |
| 3 | אֱלֹהִים מִשָּׁמַיִם הִשְׁקִיף עַל־בְּנֵי אָדָם לִרְאוֹת הֲיֵשׁ מַשְׂכִּיל דֹּרֵשׁ אֶת־אֱלֹהִים | E-lo-hím mish-sha-má-yim hish-kíf al be-néi a-dám; lir-oót ha-yésh mas-kíl; do-résh et E-lo-hím. | God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. |
| 4 | כֻּלּוֹ סָג יַחְדָּו נֶאֱלָחוּ אֵין עֹשֵׂה־טוֹב אֵין גַּם־אֶחָד | Kú-lo ság; yakh-dáv ne-el-lá-khu; ein o-séh tóv ein gam e-khád. | They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one. |
| 5 | הֲלֹא יָדְעוּ פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן אֹכְלֵי עַמִּי אָכְלוּ לֶחֶם אֱלֹהִים לֹא קָרָאוּ | Ha-lo ya-d-ú po-a-léi a-vén; o-khe-léi am-mí a-khe-lú lé-khem; E-lo-hím lo ka-rá-u. | Have those who work evil no knowledge, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and do not call upon God? |
| 6 | שָׁם פָּחֲדוּ־פַחַד לֹא־הָיָה פָחַד כִּי־אֱלֹהִים פִּזַּר עַצְמוֹת חֹנָךְ הֱבִשֹׁתָה כִּי־אֱלֹהִים מְאָסָם | Shám pa-kha-dú pá-khad lo ha-yáh fá-khad; ki E-lo-hím pi-z-zár a-tza-mót kho-né-kha; he-v-ish-ó-ta ki E-lo-hím me-a-sám. | There they are, in great terror, where there is no terror! For God scatters the bones of him who encamps against you; you put them to shame, for God has rejected them. |
| 7 | מִי יִתֵּן מִצִּיּוֹן יְשֻׁעוֹת יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּשׁוּב אֱלֹהִים שְׁבוּת עַמּוֹ יָגֵל יַעֲקֹב יִשְׂמַח יִשְׂרָאֵל | Mi yi-tén mi-Tzi-yón ye-shu-ót Yis-ra-él; be-shúv E-lo-hím she-vút am-mó; ya-gél Ya-a-kóv yis-maí-akh Yis-ra-él. | Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When God restores the fortunes of His people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad. |
