With stringed instruments. A Maskil of David, when the Ziphites went and told Saul, ‘Is not David hiding among us?’ |
| 2 | בְּבוֹא הַזִּיפִים וַיֹּאמְרוּ לְשָׁאוּל הֲלֹא דָוִד מִסְתַּתֵּר עִמָּנוּ | E-lo-hím be-shim-khá ho-shi-é-ni; u-vi-vu-ra-te-khá te-din-né-ni. | O God, save me by Your name, and vindicate me by Your might. |

| 4 | אֱלֹהִים שְׁמַע תְּפִלָּתִי הַאֲזִינָה לְאִמְרֵי־פִי | Ki za-rím ká-mu a-lái; ve-a-rit-zím bik-shú naf-shí; lo sa-mú E-lo-hím le-ne-g-dám. Sé-lah. | For strangers have risen against me; ruthless men seek my life; they do not set God before themselves. Selah. |
| 5 | כִּי זָרִים קָמוּ עָלַי וְעָרִיצִים בִּקְשׁוּ נַפְשִׁי לֹא שָׂמוּ אֱלֹהִים לְנֶגְדָּם סֶלָה | Hin-néh E-lo-hím o-zér lí; Ado-nái be-so-me-khéi naf-shí. | Behold, God is my helper; the LORD is the upholder of my life. |
| 6 | הִנֵּה אֱלֹהִים עֹזֵר לִי אֲדֹנָי בְּסֹמְכֵי נַפְשִׁי | Ya-shóv ha-ra-áh le-shor-rái; be-a-mi-te-khá hatz-mi-tém. | He will return the evil to my enemies; in Your faithfulness put an end to them. |
| 7 | ישובישוביָשִׁיב הָרַע לְשֹׁרְרָי בַּאֲמִתְּךָ הַצְמִיתֵם | Bin-da-váh e-z-be-kháh lákh; o-déh shim-khá Ado-nái ki tóv. | With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to You; I will give thanks to Your name, O the LORD, for it is good. |
| 8 | בִּנְדָבָה אֶזְבְּחָה־לָּךְ אוֹדֶה שִּׁמְךָ יְהוָה כִּי־טוֹב | Ki mi-kál tza-ráh hitz-tzi-lá-ni; u-ve-oy-vái ra-a-táh e-y-ní. | For He has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies. |
| 9 | כִּי מִכָּל־צָרָה הִצִּילָנִי וּבְאֹיְבַי רָאֲתָה עֵינִי | Ki mi-kál tza-ráh hi-tzí-la-ni; u-ve-oy-v-ái ra-a-táh e-ní. | For He has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies. |
