| 2 | הַאֲזִינָה אֱלֹהִים תְּפִלָּתִי וְאַל־תִּתְעַלַּם מִתְּחִנָּתִי | Ha-a-zí-nah E-lo-hím te-fil-la-tí; ve-al tit-a-lém mi-te-khim-na-tí. | Give ear to my prayer, O God, and hide not Yourself from my plea for mercy! |
| 3 | הַקְשִׁיבָה לִּי וַעֲנֵנִי אָרִיד בְּשִׂיחִי וְאָהִימָה | Hak-shí-vah lí va-a-né-ni; a-ríd be-si-khí ve-a-hí-mah. | Attend to me, and answer me; I am restless in my complaint and I moan. |
| 4 | מִקּוֹל אוֹיֵב מִפְּנֵי עָקַת רָשָׁע כִּי־יָמִיטוּ עָלַי אָוֶן וּבְאַף יִשְׂטְמוּנִי | Mi-kól oyév; u-me-tzo-rér ra-shá; ki ya-mí-tu a-lái a-vén; ve-af a-ka-s-sé-fu ya-sin-nú-ni. | Because of the noise of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked. For they drop trouble upon me, and in anger they bear a grudge against me. |
| 5 | לִבִּי יָחִיל בְּקִרְבִּי וְאֵימוֹת מָוֶת נָפְלוּ עָלָי | Lib-bí ya-khíl be-kir-bí; ve-ei-mót má-vet na-fe-lú a-lái. | My heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death have fallen upon me. |
| 6 | יִרְאָה וָרַעַד יָבֹא בִי וַתְּכַסֵּנִי פַּלָּצוּת | Yi-r-áh va-ré-tet yá-vo bí; va-te-khas-sé-ni pal-lá-tzut. | Fear and trembling come upon me, and horror overwhelms me. |
| 7 | וָאֹמַר מִי־יִתֶּן־לִּי אֵבֶר כַּיּוֹנָה אָעוּפָה וְאֶשְׁכֹּנָה | Va-o-már mi yi-tén lí e-vér ka-yo-náh; a-u-fáh ve-esh-kó-nah. | And I say, ‘Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. |
| 8 | הִנֵּה אַרְחִיק נְדֹד אָלִין בַּמִּדְבָּר סֶלָה | Hin-néh ar-khík ne-dód; a-lín ba-mid-bár. Sé-lah. | Yes, I would wander far away; I would lodge in the wilderness. Selah. |
| 9 | אָחִישָׁה מִפְלָט לִי מֵרוּחַ סֹעָה מִסָּעַר | A-khish-sháh mif-lát lí; me-rú-akh so-a-áh mi-sá-ar.’ | I would hurry to find a shelter from the raging wind and tempest.’ |
| 10 | בַּלַּע אֲדֹנָי פַּלַּג לְשׁוֹנָם כִּי־רָאִיתִי חָמָס וְרִיב בָּעִיר | Bal-lé’, Ado-nái, pal-lég le-sho-nám; ki ra-í-ti kha-más ve-rív ba-ír. | Destroy, O the LORD, divide their tongues; for I see violence and strife in the city. |
| 11 | יוֹמָם וָלַיְלָה יְסוֹבְבֻהָ עַל־חוֹמֹתֶיהָ וְאָוֶן וְעָמָל בְּקִרְבָּהּ | Yo-mám va-lái-lah ye-so-ve-vú-ha al kho-mo-té-ha; ve-a-vén va-a-mál be-kir-báh. | Day and night they go around it on its walls, and iniquity and trouble are within it. |
| 12 | הַוּוֹת בְּקִרְבָּהּ וְלֹא־יָמִישׁ מֵרְחֹבָהּ תֹּךְ וּמִרְמָה | Ha-v-vót be-kir-báh; ve-lo ya-mísh me-re-kho-váh tó-akh u-mir-máh. | Ruin is in its midst; oppression and fraud do not depart from its marketplace. |
| 13 | כִּי לֹא־אוֹיֵב יְחָרְפֵנִי וְאֶשָּׂא לֹא־מְשַׂנְאִי עָלַי הִגְדִּיל וְאֶסָּתֵר מִמֶּנּוּ | Ki lo oyév ye-kha-re-fé-ni va-es-sá; lo so-ne-í a-lái hig-díl va-es-sa-tér mim-mé-nu. | For it is not an enemy who taunts me — then I could bear it; it is not an adversary who deals insolently with me — then I could hide from him. |
| 14 | וְאַתָּה אֱנוֹשׁ כְּעֶרְכִּי אַלּוּפִי וּמְיֻדָּעִי | Ve-at-táh e-nósh ke-er-kí; al-lu-fí u-me-yu-da-ái. | But it is you, a man, my equal, my companion, my familiar friend. |
| 15 | אֲשֶׁר יַחְדָּו נַמְתִּיק סוֹד בְּבֵית אֱלֹהִים נְהַלֵּךְ בְּרָגֶשׁ | A-shér yakh-dáv nam-tík sód; be-véit E-lo-hím ne-halékh be-rá-ges. | We used to take sweet counsel together; within God’s house we walked in the throng. |
| 16 | ישימותישימותיַשִּׁי מָוֶת עָלֵימוֹ יֵרְדוּ שְׁאוֹל חַיִּים כִּי־רָעוֹת בִּמְגוּרָם בְּקִרְבָּם | Yash-shéi ma-vét a-lé-mo; ye-r-e-dú she-ól kha-y-yím; ki ra-ót bim-gu-rám be-kir-bám. | Let death steal over them; let them go down to Sheol alive; for evil is in their dwelling place and in their heart. |
| 17 | אֲנִי אֶל־אֱלֹהִים אֶקְרָא וַיהוָה יוֹשִׁיעֵנִי | A-ní el E-lo-hím ek-rá; va-Ado-nái yo-shi-é-ni. | But I call to God, and the LORD will save me. |
| 18 | עֶרֶב וָבֹקֶר וְצָהֳרַיִם אָשִׂיחָה וְאֶהֱמֶה וַיִּשְׁמַע קוֹלִי | E-rév va-vó-ker ve-tzo-ho-rá-yim a-sí-khah ve-e-he-méh; va-yish-máa ko-lí. | Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan, and He hears my voice. |
| 19 | פָּדָה בְשָׁלוֹם נַפְשִׁי מִקֲּרָב־לִי כִּי־בְרַבִּים הָיוּ עִמָּדִי | Pa-dáh ve-sha-lóm naf-shí mi-ke-ráv li; ki ve-ra-bím ha-yú im-má-di. | He redeems my soul in safety from the battle that I wage, for many are arrayed against me. |
| 20 | יִשְׁמַע אֵל וְיַעֲנֵם וְיֹשֵׁב קֶדֶם סֶלָה אֲשֶׁר אֵין חֲלִיפוֹת לָמוֹ וְלֹא יָרְאוּ אֱלֹהִים | Yish-máa E-lo-hím va-ya-a-ném; ve-yo-shév ké-dem Sé-lah; a-shér ein kha-li-fót la-mé-mo; ve-lo ya-r-e-ú E-lo-hím. | God will give ear and humble them, He who is enthroned from of old — Selah — because they do not change and do not fear God. |
| 21 | שָׁלַח יָדָיו בִּשְׁלֹמָיו חִלֵּל בְּרִיתוֹ | Sha-lakh ya-dáv bish-lo-máv; khi-lél be-ri-tó. | My companion stretched out his hand against his friends; he violated his covenant. |
| 22 | חָלְקוּ מַחְמָאֹת פִּיו וּקֲרָב־לִבּוֹ רַכּוּ דְבָרָיו מִשֶּׁמֶן וְהֵמָּה פְתִחוֹת | Kha-le-kú makh-me-oót pí-hu; u-ke-róv lib-bó; ra-ku de-va-ráv mi-shé-men; va-hém-mah fe-ta-khót. | His speech was smooth as butter, yet war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords. |
| 23 | הַשְׁלֵךְ עַל־יְהוָה יְהָבְךָ וְהוּא יְכַלְכְּלֶךָ לֹא־יִתֵּן לְעוֹלָם מוֹט לַצַּדִּיק | Hash-lékh al Ado-nái ye-ha-ve-khá; ve-hu ye-kha-le-khé-lekha; lo yi-tén le-o-lám mót la-tzad-dík. | Cast your burden on the LORD, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved. |
| 24 | וְאַתָּה אֱלֹהִים תּוֹרִדֵם לִבְאֵר שַׁחַת אַנְשֵׁי דָמִים וּמִרְמָה לֹא־יֶחֱצוּ יְמֵיהֶם וַאֲנִי אֶבְטַח־בָּךְ | Ve-at-táh E-lo-hím to-ri-dém li-ve-ér sha-khaát; an-shéi da-mím u-mir-máh lo ye-khe-tzu y-me-hém; va-a-ní ev-tákh bákh. | But You, O God, will cast them down into the pit of destruction; men of blood and treachery shall not live out half their days. But I will trust in You. |
