| 2 | שְׁמַע־אֱלֹהִים קוֹלִי בְשִׂיחִי מִפַּחַד אוֹיֵב תִּצֹּר חַיָּי | Shim-áh E-lo-hím ko-lí be-si-khí; mi-pa-khaád oyév titz-rór kha-y-yái. | Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy. |
| 3 | תַּסְתִּירֵנִי מִסּוֹד מְרֵעִים מֵרִגְשַׁת פֹּעֲלֵי אָוֶן | Tas-ti-ré-ni mi-sód me-re-ím; me-ri-g-shát po-a-léi a-vén. | Hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the throng of evildoers. |
| 4 | אֲשֶׁר שָׁנְנוּ כַחֶרֶב לְשׁוֹנָם דָּרְכוּ חִצָּם דָּבָר מָר | A-shér sha-ne-nú kha-shé-rev le-sho-nám; da-re-khú khitz-zám da-vár mar; le-y-rót be-mis-ta-rím tám. | Who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows. |
| 5 | לִירוֹת בַּמִּסְתָּרִים תָּם פִּתְאֹם יֹרֻהוּ וְלֹא יִירָאוּ | Yo-rú ve-lo yi-rá-u; pit-óm yo-rú-hu ve-lo ye-fakh-dú. | Shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear. |
| 6 | יְחַזְּקוּ־לָמוֹ דָּבָר רָע יְסַפְּרוּ לִטְמוֹן מוֹקְשִׁים אָמְרוּ מִי יִרְאֶה־לָּמוֹ | Ye-khaz-ze-kú lá-mo da-vár ra; ye-sap-pe-rú lit-món mo-ke-shím; am-e-rú mi yir-éh lá-mo. | They hold fast to their evil purpose; they talk of laying snares secretly, thinking, ‘Who can see them?’ |
| 7 | יַחְפְּשׂוּ־עוֹלֹת תַּמְנוּ חֵפֶשׂ מְחֻפָּשׂ וְקֶרֶב אִישׁ וְלֵב עָמֹק | Yakh-pe-rú a-v-lót; ta-m-nú khef-rá-fer te-mám; ve-ké-rev ísh ve-lév a-mók. | They search out injustice, saying, ‘We have accomplished a diligent search.’ For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep. |
| 8 | וַיֹּרֵם אֱלֹהִים חֵץ פִּתְאוֹם הָיוּ מַכּוֹתָם | Va-yarém E-lo-hím ké-tsets; pit-óm ha-yú ma-ko-té-hem. | But God shoots His arrow at them; they are wounded suddenly. |
| 9 | וַיַּכְשִׁילוּהוּ עָלֵימוֹ לְשׁוֹנָם יִתְנֹדֲדוּ כָּל־רֹאֵה בָם | Va-yakh-shi-lu-hú a-lé-mo le-sho-nám; yit-no-de-dú kál ro-éh vám. | They are brought to ruin, with their own tongues turned against them; all who see them will wag their heads. |
| 10 | וַיִּירְאוּ כָּל־אָדָם וַיַּגִּידוּ פֹּעַל אֱלֹהִים וּמַעֲשֵׂהוּ הִשְׂכִּילוּ | Va-yi-r-e-ú kál a-dám; va-yag-gí-du po-al E-lo-hím; u-ma-a-sé-hu his-kí-lu. | Then all mankind fears; they tell what God has brought about and ponder what He has done. |
| 11 | יִשְׂמַח צַדִּיק בַּיהוָה וְחָסָה בוֹ וְיִתְהַלְלוּ כָּל־יִשְׁרֵי־לֵב | Yis-mákh tzad-dík ba-Ado-nái va-kha-sáh bo; ve-yit-hal-le-lú kál yish-réi lév. | Let the righteous one rejoice in the LORD and take refuge in Him! Let all the upright in heart exult! |
