Shemot significa “Nombres”. Es el segundo libro de la Torá y narra el crecimiento de los hijos de Israel en Egipto, la opresión, el llamado de Moshé, las plagas, la salida de Egipto, la entrega de la Torá en Har Sinaí y la construcción del Mishkán.
