| 1 | מִזְמוֹר לְאָסָף אַךְ טוֹב לְיִשְׂרָאֵל אֱלֹהִים לְבָרֵי לֵבָב | Miz-mór le-A-sáf. Akh tóv le-Yis-ra-él E-lo-hím; le-va-réi lé-vav. | A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. |
| 2 | וַאֲנִי כִּמְעַט נטוינטוינָטָיוּ רַגְלָי כְּאַיִן שפכהשפכהשֻׁפְּכוּ אֲשֻׁרָי | Va-a-ní ki-me-at na-tú rag-lái; ke-a-yín shuf-e-khú ash-u-rái. | But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled, my steps had nearly slipped. |
| 3 | כִּי־קִנֵּאתִי בַּהוֹלְלִים שְׁלוֹם רְשָׁעִים אֶרְאֶה | Ki ki-né-ti ba-ho-le-lím; sha-lóm re-sha-ím er-eéh. | For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. |
| 4 | כִּי אֵין חַרְצֻבּוֹת לְמוֹתָם וּבָרִיא אוּלָם | Ki ein kha-rtz-vu-bót le-mo-tám; u-va-rí ul-lám. | For they have no pangs until death; their bodies are fat and sleek. |
| 5 | בַּעֲמַל אֱנוֹשׁ אֵינֵמוֹ וְעִם־אָדָם לֹא יְנֻגָּעוּ | Ba-a-mál e-nósh e-i-né-mo; ve-im a-dám lo ye-nug-gá-u. | They are not in trouble as others are; they are not stricken like the rest of mankind. |
| 6 | לָכֵן עֲנָקַתְמוֹ גַאֲוָה יַעֲטָף־שִׁית חָמָס לָמוֹ | La-khén a-na-kát-mo ga-a-váh; ya-a-te-f shít kha-más lá-mo. | Therefore pride is their necklace; violence covers them as a garment. |
| 7 | יָצָא מֵחֵלֶב עֵינֵמוֹ עָבְרוּ מַשְׂכִּיּוֹת לֵבָב | Ya-tzá me-khé-lev e-i-né-mo; a-ve-rú mash-ki-yót lé-vav. | Their eyes swell out through fatness; their hearts overflow with follies. |
| 8 | יָמִיקוּ וִידַבְּרוּ בְרָע עֹשֶׁק מִמָּרוֹם יְדַבֵּרוּ | Ya-mí-ku va-ye-dab-be-rú be-rá; o-shék me-rom ye-dab-be-rú. | They scoff and speak with malice; loftily they threaten oppression. |
| 9 | שַׁתּוּ בַשָּׁמַיִם פִּיהֶם וּלְשׁוֹנָם תִּהֲלַךְ בָּאָרֶץ | Sha-te-tú va-sha-má-yim pi-hém; u-le-sho-nám ti-ha-lékh ba-á-rets. | They set their mouths against the heavens, and their tongue struts through the earth. |
| 10 | לָכֵן ישיבישיביָשׁוּב עַמּוֹ הֲלֹם וּמֵי מָלֵא יִמָּצוּ לָמוֹ | La-khén ya-shúv am-mó ha-lóm; u-me-méi ma-lé yim-ma-tzu lá-mo. | Therefore his people turn back to them, and find no fault in them. |
| 11 | וְאָמְרוּ אֵיכָה יָדַע־אֵל וְיֵשׁ דֵּעָה בְעֶלְיוֹן | Ve-am-reú e-kháh ya-dá-a El; ve-yésh de-áh be-el-yón. | And they say, ‘How can God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?’ |
| 12 | הִנֵּה־אֵלֶּה רְשָׁעִים וְשַׁלְוֵי עוֹלָם הִשְׂגּוּ־חָיִל | Hin-néh e-l-léh re-sha-ím; ve-shal-véi o-lám hish-gú-kha-yíl. | Behold, these are the wicked; always at ease, they increase in riches. |
| 13 | אַךְ־רִיק זִכִּיתִי לְבָבִי וָאֶרְחַץ בְּנִקָּיוֹן כַּפָּי | Akh rík zi-k-kí-ti le-va-ví; va-er-khaáts be-nik-ka-yón ka-p-pái. | All in vain have I kept my heart clean and washed my hands in innocence. |
| 14 | וָאֱהִי נָגוּעַ כָּל־הַיּוֹם וְתוֹכַחְתִּי לַבְּקָרִים | Va-e-hí na-gú-a kál ha-yom; ve-to-khaá-ti la-be-ka-rím. | For all the day long I have been stricken and rebuked every morning. |
| 15 | אִם־אָמַרְתִּי אֲסַפְּרָה כְמוֹ הִנֵּה דוֹר בָּנֶיךָ בָגָדְתִּי | Im a-mar-tí a-sap-pe-ráh khó-mah; hin-néh dor ba-ne-khá ba-gád-ti. | If I had said, ‘I will speak thus,’ I would have betrayed the generation of Your children. |
| 16 | וָאֲחַשְּׁבָה לָדַעַת זֹאת עָמָל היאהיאהוּא בְעֵינָי | Va-a-kha-she-váh la-da-aát zót; a-mál hi be-e-nái. | But when I thought how to understand this, it seemed to me a wearisome task. |
| 17 | עַד־אָבוֹא אֶל־מִקְדְּשֵׁי־אֵל אָבִינָה לְאַחֲרִיתָם | Ad a-vo el mik-da-shéi E-l; a-ví-nah le-a-kha-ri-tám. | Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I discerned their end. |
| 18 | אַךְ בַּחֲלָקוֹת תָּשִׁית לָמוֹ הִפַּלְתָּם לְמַשּׁוּאוֹת | Akh ba-kha-la-kót ta-shít lá-mo; hi-pal-tám le-mash-u-ót. | Truly You set them in slippery places; You make them fall to ruin. |
| 19 | אֵיךְ הָיוּ לְשַׁמָּה כְרָגַע סָפוּ תַמּוּ מִן־בַּלָּהוֹת | Eikh ha-yú le-sha-m-máh ke-ré-ga; sa-fú ta-mú min bal-la-hót. | How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors! |
| 20 | כַּחֲלוֹם מֵהָקִיץ אֲדֹנָי בָּעִיר צַלְמָם תִּבְזֶה | Ke-kha-lóm me-ha-kítz; Ado-nái be-ír tzal-mám tiv-zéh. | Like a dream when one awakes, O the LORD, when You rouse Yourself, You despise them as phantoms. |
| 21 | כִּי יִתְחַמֵּץ לְבָבִי וְכִלְיוֹתַי אֶשְׁתּוֹנָן | Ki yit-kha-métz le-va-ví; ve-khil-yo-tái esh-to-nán. | When my soul was embittered, when I was pricked in heart. |
| 22 | וַאֲנִי־בַעַר וְלֹא אֵדָע בְּהֵמוֹת הָיִיתִי עִמָּךְ | Va-a-ní ba-ar ve-lo edá; be-hemót ha-yí-ti im-mákh. | I was brutish and ignorant; I was like a beast toward You. |
| 23 | וַאֲנִי תָמִיד עִמָּךְ אָחַזְתָּ בְּיַד־יְמִינִי | Va-a-ní ta-míd im-mákh; a-khaáz-ta be-yad ye-mi-ní. | Nevertheless, I am continually with You; You hold my right hand. |
| 24 | בַּעֲצָתְךָ תַנְחֵנִי וְאַחַר כָּבוֹד תִּקָּחֵנִי | Be-a-tza-te-khá tan-khé-ni; ve-a-khaár ka-vód tik-kha-né-ni. | You guide me with Your counsel, and afterward You will receive me to glory. |
| 25 | מִי־לִי בַשָּׁמָיִם וְעִמְּךָ לֹא־חָפַצְתִּי בָאָרֶץ | Mi lí va-sha-má-yim; ve-im-me-khá lo kha-fátz-ti va-á-rets. | Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides You. |
| 26 | כָּלָה שְׁאֵרִי וּלְבָבִי צוּר־לְבָבִי וְחֶלְקִי אֱלֹהִים לְעוֹלָם | Ká-lah she-é-ri u-le-va-ví; tzur le-va-ví ve-khel-kí E-lo-hím le-o-lám. | My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. |
| 27 | כִּי־הִנֵּה רְחֵקֶיךָ יֹאבֵדוּ הִצְמַתָּה כָּל־זוֹנֶה מִמֶּךָּ | Ki hin-néh re-kho-ké-kha yo-ve-dú; hitz-mah-tá kál zo-néh mim-mé-ka. | For behold, those who are far from You shall perish; You put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to You. |
| 28 | וַאֲנִי קִרֲבַת אֱלֹהִים לִי־טוֹב שַׁתִּי בַּאדֹנָי יְהֹוִה מַחְסִי לְסַפֵּר כָּל־מַלְאֲכוֹתֶיךָ | Va-a-ní kir-vat E-lo-hím lí tóv; shat-tí ba-Ado-nái E-lo-hím makh-sí; le-sap-pér kál mal-akhó-te-kha. | But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the LORD God my refuge, that I may tell of all Your works. |
