For the leader. A psalm of David, the servant of Adonai, who spoke to Adonai the words of this song on the day Adonai delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.
Vayomár: erkhamkhá Adonai khizqí. He said: I love You, O Adonai, my strength.
Adonai is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
Mehullál eqrá Adonai, umin-oyeváy ivvashé’a. I call upon Adonai, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.
Afafúni khevlé-mávet, venakhalé beliyya’al yeva’atúni. The cords of death encompassed me, and the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
Khevlé she’ól sevavúni, qiddemúni moqshé mávet. The cords of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me.
בַּצַּר־לִי אֶקְרָא יהוה וְאֶל־אֱלֹהַי אֲשַׁוֵּעַ יִשְׁמַע מֵהֵיכָלוֹ קוֹלִי וְשַׁוְעָתִי לְפָנָיו תָּבוֹא בְאָזְנָיו Batssar-li eqrá Adonai, ve’el-Eloháy ashawwé’a, yishmá’ mehekháló qolí, veshaw’atí lefanáv tavó ve’oznáv. In my distress I called upon Adonai, and cried out to my God; from His temple He heard my voice, and my cry before Him came into His ears.
Then the earth shook and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains trembled; they were shaken because He was angry.
עָלָה עָשָׁן בְּאַפּוֹ וְאֵשׁ מִפִּיו תֹּאכֵל גֶּחָלִים בָּעֲרוּ מִמֶּנּוּ ’Aláh ’ashán be’appó, ve’ésh mippív to’él, gekhalím ba’arú miménnu. Smoke rose from His nostrils, and devouring fire from His mouth; coals flamed forth from Him.
Vayét shamáyim vayyéred, va’arafél tákhat ragláv. He bent the heavens and came down, and thick darkness was under His feet.
Vayirkáv ’al-kerúv vayya’of, vayyéd’a ’al-kanfé-ruakh. He rode upon a cherub and flew; He soared on the wings of the wind.
Yashét khóshekh sitró, sevivotáv sukkató, khéshekhat-máyim ’avé shekhaqím. He made darkness His hiding place, His canopy around Him: dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
Minnógah negdó ’aváv ’avru, barád vegakhalé-ésh. Out of the brightness before Him, His thick clouds passed, with hailstones and coals of fire.
Adonai thundered in the heavens, and the Most High gave forth His voice, with hailstones and coals of fire.
Vayishlákh khitsáv vayefitsém, uveraqím rav vayhumém. He sent out His arrows and scattered them; He shot forth lightnings and routed them.
Then the channels of water appeared, and the foundations of the world were laid bare, at Your rebuke, O Adonai, at the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.
Yishlákh mimmarróm yiqakhéni, yamshení mimmáyim rabbím. He reached down from on high and took me; He drew me out of mighty waters.
Yatsiléni me’oyeví ’áz, umisson’áy ki amtsú miménni. He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.
Yeqaddemúni veyóm-eidí, vayhi Adonai lemish’án li. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but Adonai was my support.
Vayyotsi’éni lammerkháv, yekhalletsení ki khaféts bi. He brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me.
Yigmeleni Adonai ketsidki, kevor yadai yashiv li. Adonai rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands He recompensed me.
Ki shamarti darkhei Adonai, velo rasha’ti meElohai. For I have kept the ways of Adonai, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
Ki khol mishpatav lenegdi, vekhukotav lo asir meni. For all His judgments were before me, and I did not put away His statutes from me.
Vaehi tamim imo, vaeshtamer meavoni. I was wholehearted with Him, and I kept myself from my iniquity.
Vayashev Adonai li khetsidki, kevor yadai leneged einav. Therefore Adonai recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands before His eyes.
Im khasid titkhasad, im gevar tamim titamam. With the loyal You show Yourself loyal; with the wholehearted man You show Yourself wholehearted.
Im navar titbarar, veim ikesh titpatal. With the pure You show Yourself pure, and with the crooked You show Yourself subtle.
Ki atah am ani toshia, veeinayim ramot tashpil. For You save a humble people, but haughty eyes You bring low.
Ki atah tair neri, Adonai Elohai yaguiah khoshki. For You light my lamp; Adonai my God lights up my darkness.
Ki vekhá aruts gedúd, uvEloháy adalég shúr. For by You I run upon a troop, and by my God I leap over a wall.
HaEl tamím darko, imrat-Adonai tserufáh, magén hu lekhol hakhosím bo. As for God, His way is perfect; the word of Adonai is refined; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
For who is God besides Adonai? And who is a rock except our God?
HaEl hameazréni kháyil, vayitén tamím darkí. The God who girds me with strength, and makes my way perfect.
Who makes my feet like hinds' feet, and sets me secure upon my high places.
Melamméd yadáy lamilkhamáh, venikhatáh qéshet-nekhusháh zero’ótếy. Who trains my hands for battle, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
Vatittén-li magén yish’ékha, viminkhá tis’adéni, ve’anvotékha tarbéni. You have given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand has supported me, and Your gentleness has made me great.
Tarhív tsa’adí takhtáy, veló ma’adú qarsulláy. You enlarge my steps beneath me, and my feet have not slipped.
Erdóf oyeváy veassíguem, veló-ashúv ’ad-kallotám. I pursued my enemies and overtook them, and did not turn back until they were consumed.
Emkhatsém veló-yukh lú kum, yippelú tákhat ragláy. I struck them down so that they could not rise; they fell under my feet.
Vatteazréni kháyil lamilkhamáh, takhri’á kamáy takhtáy. You girded me with strength for battle; You made my adversaries bow beneath me.
Veoyeváy natátah lí ’óref, umesan’áy atsmitém. You made my enemies turn their backs to me, and those who hated me I cut off.
Yeshaw’éu veéin moshía, ’al Adonai veló ’anám. They cried, but there was none to save; to Adonai, but He did not answer them.
Veeshkhakém ke’áfar ’al-pené-rúakh, ketít khutsót aríqem. I beat them fine as dust before the wind; I cast them out like the mire of the streets.
You delivered me from the strivings of the people; You made me the head of nations; a people I did not know served me.

Benéi-nekhár yibólu, veyakhregú mimisguerotéihem. Foreigners lost heart, and came trembling out of their strongholds.
Khai-Adonai uvarúkh tsurí, veyarúm Elohé yish’í. Adonai lives, and blessed be my rock; exalted be the God of my salvation.
