| 1 | שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלוֹת מִמַּעֲמַקִּים קְרָאתִיךָ יְהוָה | Shír ha-ma-a-lót. Mi-ma-a-ma-kím ke-rá-ti-kha Ado-nái. | A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths I cry to You, O the LORD! |
| 2 | אֲדֹנָי שִׁמְעָה בְקוֹלִי תִּהְיֶינָה אָזְנֶיךָ קַשֻּׁבוֹת לְקוֹל תַּחֲנוּנָי | Ado-nái shim-áh be-kó-li; tih-ye-n-náh oz-ne-kha kash-u-vót le-kól ta-kha-nu-n-ái. | O the LORD, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my pleas for mercy! |
| 3 | אִם־עֲוֺנוֹת תִּשְׁמָר־יָהּ אֲדֹנָי מִי יַעֲמֹד | Im a-vo-nót tish-mór Yáh; Ado-nái mi ya-a-mód. | If You, O the LORD, should mark iniquities, O LORD, who could stand? |
| 4 | כִּי־עִמְּךָ הַסְּלִיחָה לְמַעַן תִּוָּרֵא | Ki im-kha ha-se-li-kháh; le-ma-an ti-va-ré. | But with You there is forgiveness, that You may be feared. |
| 5 | קִוִּיתִי יְהוָה קִוְּתָה נַפְשִׁי וְלִדְבָרוֹ הוֹחָלְתִּי | Ki-ví-ti Ado-nái ki-ve-táh naf-shí; ve-lid-va-ró ho-khál-ti. | I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I hope. |
| 6 | נַפְשִׁי לַאדֹנָי מִשֹּׁמְרִים לַבֹּקֶר שֹׁמְרִים לַבֹּקֶר | Naf-shí la-do-nái; mi-sho-me-rím la-bó-ker; sho-me-rím la-bó-ker. | My soul waits for the LORD more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning. |
| 7 | יַחֵל יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל־יְהוָה כִּי־עִם־יְהוָה הַחֶסֶד וְהַרְבֵּה עִמּוֹ פְדוּת | Ya-khel Yis-ra-él el Ado-nái; ki im Ado-nái ha-khé-sed; ve-har-béh im-mó fe-dút. | O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD there is steadfast love, and with Him is plentiful redemption. |
| 8 | וְהוּא יִפְדֶּה אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל מִכֹּל עֲוֺנֹתָיו | Ve-hu yif-déh et Yis-ra-él; mi-kól a-vo-no-táv. | And He will redeem Israel from all his iniquities. |
