| 1 | לַמְנַצֵּחַ אַל־תַּשְׁחֵת לְדָוִד מִכְתָּם בְּבָרְחוֹ מִפְּנֵי־שָׁאוּל בַּמְּעָרָה | La-me-nat-tsé-akh al tash-khét le-Da-víd mikh-tám be-vor-khó mip-pe-néi Sha-úl ba-me-a-ráh. | To the Chief Musician. Al-tashcheth. A Miktam of David, when he fled from Saul, in the cave. |
| 2 | חָנֵּנִי אֱלֹהִים חָנֵּנִי כִּי בְךָ חָסָיָה נַפְשִׁי וּבְצֵל־כְּנָפֶיךָ אֶחְסֶה עַד יַעֲבֹר הַוּוֹת | Kho-né-ni E-lo-hím kho-né-ni; ki ve-khá kha-sáh naf-shí; u-ve-tzel ke-na-fé-kha e-kha-séh ad ya-a-vór ha-v-vót. | Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in You my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by. |

| 4 | יִשְׁלַח מִשָּׁמַיִם וְיוֹשִׁיעֵנִי חֵרֵף שֹׁאֲפִי סֶלָה יִשְׁלַח אֱלֹהִים חַסְדּוֹ וַאֲמִתּוֹ | Yish-lákh mish-sha-má-yim ve-yo-shi-é-ni; kher-fí sho-a-fí. Sé-lah. Yish-lákh E-lo-hím khas-dó va-a-mi-tó. | He will send from heaven and save me; He will put to shame him who tramples on me. Selah. God will send out His steadfast love and His faithfulness! |
| 5 | נַפְשִׁי בְּתוֹךְ לְבָאִם אֶשְׁכְּבָה לֹהֲטִים בְּנֵי־אָדָם שִׁנֵּיהֶם חֲנִית וְחִצִּים וּלְשׁוֹנָם חֶרֶב חַדָּה | Naf-shí be-tókh le-va-í-im esh-kó-nah; lo-ha-tím be-néi a-dám; shin-nám kha-nít ve-khits-tzi-m; u-le-sho-nám khé-rev kha-dáh. | My soul is in the midst of lions; I lie down amid fiery beasts — the children of man, whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords. |

| 7 | רֶשֶׁת הֵכִינוּ לִפְעָמַי כָּפַף נַפְשִׁי כָּרוּ לְפָנַי שִׁיחָה נָפְלוּ בְתוֹכָהּ סֶלָה | Ré-shet he-khí-nu le-fe-a-mái; ka-fáf naf-shí; ka-rú le-fa-nái shí-kha; na-fe-lú ve-tó-kha. Sé-lah. | They set a net for my steps; my soul was bowed down. They dug a pit in my way, but they have fallen into it themselves. Selah. |
